Liberal Heartache: MSNBC suspends Olbermann

Keith Olbermann has been indefinitely suspended by MSNBC for making campaign donations to Democrats in violation of network policy. I am shocked. The shock isn't from finding out Olbermann would donate money to Democrats. The shock is from leaning MSNBC has a policy against it.

NEW YORK – MSNBC has suspended prime-time host Keith Olbermann indefinitely without pay for contributing to the campaigns of three Democratic candidates this election season.

Olbermann acknowledged to NBC that he donated $2,400 apiece to the campaigns of Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway and Arizona Reps. Raul Grivalva and Gabrielle Giffords.

He committed no crime… Nobody with an IQ above 30 thinks Olbermann is either impartial or a journalist, so it’s not like his credibility was tarnished. He has none. His on-air advocacy for candidates provided far more assistance than a couple of grand quietly donated to their coffers.

Olbermann isn’t being suspended for campaign donations or for being one of the most hated people in broadcast television. The latter is a résumé enhancer at NBC. And you can bet your bottom dollar that every other “face” at MessNBC has kicked a few thou in the direction of the Democrats at some time or another. In show business (and that’s what TV news is), at some point, it’s all about the ratings. So this is merely a convenient opportunity for NBC to do what they’ve wanted to do for awhile.
As to honest: an elitist media organization demonstrate some degree of honesty? Well, they say there’s a first time for everything, but I don’t expect to see that one in my lifetime.
