Democrats invite CAIR to State of the Union...

CAIR is on the UAE terrorist list...

Via The Hill:
Two officials from the Council on American-Islamic Relations will be attending the State of the Union address Tuesday as guests of Democratic lawmakers.
Reps. Zoe Lofgren (Calif.) and Alcee Hastings (Fla.) will both be hosting representatives from CAIR chapters in their respective states, the group announced Monday.
Lofgren will be bringing Sameena Usman, a government relations coordinator in the San Francisco office, while Hastings will host Nezar Hamze, the chief operating officer of the nonprofit’s Florida branch.
The announcement comes days after Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), the first Muslim elected to Congress, challenged Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to bring a Muslim American as one of his guests to the speech.

Ben Carson demands IRS revoke CAIR's tax exempt status...

CAIR engaged in politics by demanding Ben Carson withdraw. Don't expect much from Obama's politicized IRS. Now, If this were a tea Party group and the demand came from Bernie Sanders...

Via BPR:
Presidential contender Ben Carson‘s conflict with CAIR is getting hotter since Carson’s headline-making interview about a potential Muslim president.
The retired neurosurgeon on Saturday demanded that the IRS crack down on the Council on American-Islamic Relations for violating regulations that restrict the political involvement by groups that claim non-profit status.
The IRS has shown no problem with attacking conservative groups on much flimsier grounds during the Obama era.
It’s largely faded from the headlines, but the IRS targeting of conservative groups is one of the many “phony scandals” that have dogged the Obama administration. In an email on Saturday, Carson demanded that the IRS treat CAIR the way it treated conservative groups — with much less reason.
“The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) held a public press conference demanding that I withdraw from the presidential race,” Carson observed in an email announcing a petition to remove CAIR’s tax-exempt status, according to The Hill.
“Here’s the catch – CAIR is a tax-exempt nonprofit, and the IRS rules explicitly prohibit such groups from intervening in political campaigns on behalf of – or in opposition to – a candidate,” the email continues.

CAIR responds to Paris attack: Condemns "anti-Muslim bigots"

Isn't it time to put CAIR on the list of terror-supporting organizations?
(CNSNews.com) – The “proper response” to attacks like the one targeting a satirical French magazine in Paris Wednesday is not to vilify any faith, but to “marginalize extremists of all backgrounds who seek to stifle freedom and to create or widen societal divisions,” the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said Wednesday.
“We strongly condemn this brutal and cowardly attack and reiterate our repudiation of any such assault on freedom of speech, even speech that mocks faiths and religious figures,” CAIR national executive director Nihad Awad said in a statement.
Asked whether the group’s reference to “extremists of all backgrounds” included those who offend Muslims by, for instance, publishing cartoons satirizing Mohammed, CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper agreed.
“We were talking about the twin extremes of ISIS-type extremists and anti-Muslim bigots,” he said in an email.

Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) stripped of tax-exempt status

CAIR claims to be a "Muslim-American civil rights group." For some reason, they have been withholding their donor lists from the IRS. This has cost them their tax-exempt status. Many believe CAIR to be a front group for Hamas.
(IPT) — Donations to the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) no longer are tax deductible after the organization was among 275,000 tax-exempt organizations purged earlier this month by the Internal Revenue Service.

The groups failed to file required annual reports, known as form 990s, detailing their revenues and expenses, for three consecutive years. CAIR had been a non-profit on its own, but in 2007, the IRS approved a separate tax-exempt CAIR Foundation. The foundation never filed any subsequent reports. Both the foundation and CAIR national are on the purge list.

Council on American-Islamic Relations Removing “Don’t Talk to the FBI” Poster From Website

Too little, too late...
(Fox News) — The Council on American-Islamic Relations said it will remove a poster from the group’s website promoting an upcoming conference that encourages people not to talk to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The poster, which appeared on the website of CAIR’s California chapter, features a sinister-looking FBI agent with the headlines “Build a Wall of Resistance” and “Don’t Talk to the FBI.”
