RINO Rep. Peter King Now Supports Immigration Reform And Amnesty...

Geez. King's district was redrawn to include more Hispanics. Now, he has changed his tune on immigration reform. RINO's have no core values.

Via NY Times:
Who says old politicians can’t reinvent themselves, jettison long-held beliefs and emerge from ideological cocoons, fresh as butterflies?
Representative Peter King, who is about to turn 70, showed up on Friday night for a town-hall meeting in a Hispanic corner of his Long Island district. He brought his big smile and pompadour, looking every bit the guy who has been a fixture of Republican politics in suburban New York since the ’70s, but he sounded like someone completely different.
His hosts were mostly Spanish-speaking immigrants, invited by a nonprofit community organization, Make the Road New York. More than 150 people crammed into the room, quieting their babies and cellphones, eager to hear what their “congresista” had to say about immigration reform.
Oil, meet water. Mr. King is a combative right-winger who spent the last decade opposing efforts to reform immigration laws. This night, though, he presented himself as the proud holder of another point of view.
“I’ve had real issues with the whole concept of having a large number of illegal immigrants coming into the country,” he acknowledged. But he also said that he now supported the Republicans’ recently released — and almost immediately shelved — “principles” for immigration reform, including legalization for 11 million people. He said the odds of reform passing the House this year were not good, given the election and the power of the Tea Party to make primaries difficult for immigration moderates. But he made clear that he wished it were otherwise.
What changed?
Mr. King’s heart, maybe. His district, definitely. Mr. King lives in Seaford, hamlet on the South Shore of Long Island that is 95 percent white, and has, for years, solidly represented the interests of the white, conservative middle class. But his redrawn 2nd Congressional District extends east to enfold heavily black and Hispanic enclaves like Brentwood and Central Islip. While Mr. King’s re-election this year seems a lock, 2016 may be harder, and he has been out getting to know his new friends.

Irony: RINO Peter King calls Ted Cruz a “fraud.”

Peter King has been pretending to be a Republican for years....

Via Mediaite:
Congressman Peter King has been one of the strongest Republican voices opposing Ted Cruz‘s fight against Obamacare, frequently calling him a“fraud.” On CNN Wednesday night, King continued hammering Cruz, telling Anderson Cooper that despite how much Cruz may view himself as a conservative “folk hero” the majority of the country is rallying behind, “those I’ve spoken to think he’s crazy.”
King likened this to the Charge of the Light Brigade and said Cruz is a “kamikaze pilot,” ultimately finding his tactics to be destructive to the Republican party. He continued to call Cruz a fraud and a “medicine man selling goods he knows are phony goods.”
Cooper asked why King is taking the “unusual” step of being so critical of a member of his own party. King said he has no loyalty to Cruz, adding that Cruz was trying to intimidate Republican members of Congress” in the past few months to vote his way “with explicit threats of primaries.”

Stupid: GOP Rep. Peter King calls conservatives worried about NSA spying "Michael Moores"

Douchebag alert...

Via NRO:
On Fox News this afternoon, Peter King (R., N.Y.) called for the prosecution not just of Edward Snowden, the ex-CIA employee who leaked details about NSA surveillance operations and the government’s PRISM program, but also of Glenn Greenwald, the reporter who first broke the details in the U.K.’s Guardian. Greenwald is an American citizen currently living overseas. [...]
“Too many Republicans and conservatives have become Michael Moores, and I think it’s really dangerous to our country.”

New Poll: 63% Support GOP Rep. Peter King’s Congressional Hearings On Radical Islam In America

As a special bonus, this was a Democratic poll. I doubt this was the result they were hoping for.
(TheDC) — While New York Republican Rep. Peter King’s recent hearings on radicalization have sparked controversy among interest groups and in the media, a recent poll shows that a majority of Americans are supportive of his efforts.

According to a national poll of 1,000 likely voters conducted last month by Democratic pollster Pat Caddell and Republican pollster John McLaughlin for Secure America Now, 63 percent of Americans support the King hearings and believe “they need to continue because they are providing information which is valuable and important to stop terrorism in the United States.”

Twenty percent said the hearings should be discontinued because “they are offensive to Muslims and a waste of tax payer dollars.” Seventeen percent did not know, or refused to answer.

Rep. Peter King: "I’m Willing to be Called a Bigot If That’s What it Takes to Investigate Radical Islam in America"

GOP Rep. Peter King is set to be chairman of the house Homeland Security Committee.

Via Think Progress:
COLBY: Talk to me about this investigation that you want to undertake about radicalization. Not everybody is supportive, in fact many have said that you’re looking towards the Muslim community — even though after 9/11 you said that not all Muslims are responsible for what happened on 9/11 — they say you’re a bigot.

KING: Yeah, it’s totally untrue. That’s political correct nonsense. But I’m willing to take that hit if I have to. The fact is that nobody had a closer relationship with the Muslim community than I did before September 11. Since then, I’ve been disappointed that a number of their leaders did not cooperate with law enforcement. There are actual cases in this country where the Imams direct their members not to cooperate with law enforcement on very serious investigations.
