Who is up for giving the IRS $70 million in employee bonuses

IRS employees have been naughty. They shouldn't be rewarded with bonuses...
WASHINGTON (AP) — Already reeling from a pair of scandals, the Internal Revenue Service is drawing new criticism over plans to hand out millions of dollars in employee bonuses.
The Obama administration has ordered agencies to cancel discretionary bonuses because of automatic spending cuts, but the IRS says it’s merely following legal obligations under a union contract.
The agency is about to pay $70 million in employee bonuses, said Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, a senior Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, which has jurisdiction over the IRS.
Grassley says his office has learned that the IRS was to execute an agreement with the employees’ union Wednesday to pay the bonuses. Grassley says the bonuses should be canceled under an April directive from the White House budget office.

Congressional staff members got $6.1 million in bonuses. Congressional approval is down to 8%

Our Congressmen and women think they are doing a great job. They gave their staff members $6.1 million in discretionary bonuses.
(Mediaite) — Despite all the talk of belt-tightening in Washington, CNN’s Lisa Desjardins dug through many Congressional expense reports and discovered up to $6.1 million was paid out in bonuses to Congressional staff members during the beginning of the year, at the height of talks about a potential government shutdown.
Voters don't agree. Congressional approval is down to %8.
Voter approval of Congress' job performance has now fallen to a near five-year low.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only eight percent (8%) of Likely U.S. Voters think Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Fifty-two percent (52%) rate Congress' performance as poor.
