The 4 State Department officials put on administrative leave over Benghazi are back to work...

Absolutely no one has been held accountable.

Via Daily Beast:
Last December, Clinton’s staff told four mid-level officials to clean out their desks and hand in their badges after the release of the report of its own internal investigation into the Benghazi attack, compiled by the Administrative Review Board led by former State Department official Tom Pickering and former Joint Chiefs Chairman Ret. Adm. Mike Mullen. Those four officials have been in legal and professional limbo, not fired but unable to return to their jobs, for eight months… until today.
Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Raymond Maxwell, the only official from the State Department’s Near Eastern Affairs bureau to lose his job over the Benghazi attack, told The Daily Beast Monday he received a memo from the State Department’s human resources department informing him his administrative leave status has been lifted and he should report for duty Tuesday morning.
“No explanation, no briefing, just come back to work. So I will go in tomorrow,” Maxwell said. “I know what Hosni Mubarak must feel.”

Demo Sen. Mark Pryor says he doesn't support Obama's "hard-left agenda"

If he gets re-elected he will...

Via HuffPo:
Facing an intense bid for reelection, Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) appears to be distancing himself from President Barack Obama.
In an interview with Politico published on Monday, Pryor cleared the air about where he stands in comparison to the commander-in-chief, noting that Obama “doesn’t connect well” with Arkansas.
“I think that President Obama has in some ways what you would think of as a hard-left agenda in various ways, and that agenda is not popular in our state,” Pryor said. “And a lot of that agenda I don’t support.”

Welfare better than minimum wage in 35 states...

Welfare pays better than a starting teacher's salary in 10 states...

Via Washington Examiner:
Federal welfare benefits pay more than minimum wage jobs in 35 states, according to a new report from the Cato Institute.
Hawaii provides the most benefits, or $49,175 a year. The District of Columbia provides the second highest welfare benefits in the country, providing $43,099 a year.
Cato’s calculations were based upon how much a mother with two children would receive from the seven most widely used welfare programs, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families; Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; Medicaid; Women, Infants and Children Program; Emergency Food Assistance Program; housing assistance and utilities assistance.
In 12 states and D.C., the amount she would receive from those programs exceeds what she could earn working full-time at a $15-an-hour job, according to Cato.
In 10 states and D.C., welfare benefits pay more than the first year, pretax salary for a teacher.

Quote of the Day: “Every current elementary school child on the planet has seen only global cooling during their life.”- Steve Goddard

That really brings it home...

Via NoTricksZone:
Steve Goddard here wrote, “Every current elementary school child on the planet has seen only global cooling during their life.”
Well, how much of the world’s population is that? According to this site here, that’s 26% of the world’s population – or 1.8 billion people. Soon global warming will be a thing of the past; adults won’t know what it is.
Almost half of all Africans have never seen it

Agriculture Department study: More people are selling their food stamps...

The government claims the percentage of people selling their food stamps is very small. The number cashing them in at stores willing violating the law may be fairly small. However, I believe people use their relatives or friends to convert food stamps to non-covered items.  Their relatives or friends buy them cigarettes, beer or other items and they let the person use the food stamp card for food purchases. I believe this is very common. This would be easy to reduce. There should be a photo ID requirement when using a food stamp card. Then, the card owner would at least have to be present for the transaction.

Via Fox News:
The percentage of Americans selling their food stamps back to stores for cash has increased by 30 percent over the past several years, according to a new Agriculture Department study.
The study on food stamps trafficking — which the agency said included “covert investigation” in stores — compared the periods of 2006 -2008 to 2009 -2011.
Despite the increase, trafficking has declined since the 1990s, when the rate was nearly 4 percent of food stamps, also known as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programs benefits.
The total amount of SNAP benefits is now at roughly $858  million, compared to $330 million annually in the 2006-2008 period.
The increase reflects the overall growth  in SNAP participation and benefits, the agency said in the August 2013 report.
Recipients typically sell back their benefits at a discount, according to the agency, which said its undercover investigations and research into electronic SNAP transactions focused on  stores that showed “suspicious activities.”

No Thanks: Scott Brown considering run for President...

Scott Brown was certainly better than the Democrats in Massachusetts, but he has a RINO streak in him...

Via Boston Herald:
Former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown told the Herald he is looking at a possible 2016 presidential bid today as he hit a well-worn stomping ground for Oval Office hopefuls – the Iowa State Fair.
“I want to get an indication of whether there’s even an interest, in Massachusetts and throughout the country, if there’s room for a bi-partisan problem solver,” said Brown, who has been meeting with top Republicans nationally and last week hosted a Fenway event for Republican National Committee members. Brown indicated he isn’t close to deciding whether he will run. “It’s 2013, I think it’s premature, but I am curious. There’s a lot of good name recognition in the Dakotas and here – that’s pretty good.”
Brown rose to national prominence after his surprise win in the 2010 special election for the U.S. Senate over Attorney general Martha Coakley. He lost the seat to U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren in 2012, but he has recently kept the door open to many races including the 2014 Bay State gubernatorial and a U.S. Senate bid in New Hampshire.

Feel good story: Senior Hezbollah commander reportedly killed in Syria...

Let's hope so...

Via INN:
Arab media reported Sunday that a senior Hezbollah terror leader was killed in recent days in a battle with Syrian opposition forces. The battle occurred in the Damascus area.
The reports did not identify the terrorist, but in recent days Hezbollah-affiliated news outlets showed images of the funeral of senior Hezbollah commander Ali Hossam Nasser. The funeral took place in the area of Nabatiya in south Lebanon. Nasser is considered the supreme commander of Hezbollah forces in Syria.
If the report is correct, the death of Nasser is just one of the latest in a series of setbacks for Hezbollah in Lebanon. Last weekend, rebels in Syria claimed that they had killed at least 42 Hezbollah terrorists, who were fighting with soldiers loyal to President Bashar al-Assad on behalf of Iran. The deaths were reported by Arab television station Al-Arabiya, which quoted a rebel leader as saying that the operation was a “high quality one.”
