Fear of Trump runs Michael R. Bloomberg from 2016 presidential race...

Trump has all the right enemies...

(NYTimes)
Michael R. Bloomberg, who for months quietly laid the groundwork to run for president as an independent, will not enter the 2016 campaign, he said Monday, citing his fear that a three-way race could lead to the election of a candidate he thinks would endanger the country: Donald J. Trump.
In a forceful condemnation of his fellow New Yorker, Mr. Bloomberg said Mr. Trump has run “the most divisive and demagogic presidential campaign I can remember, preying on people’s prejudices and fears.” He said he was alarmed by Mr. Trump’s threats to bar Muslim immigrants from entering the country and to initiate trade wars against China and Japan... The remarks former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg doesn't want you to hear...

Will liberals call him a racist?

Via Daily Caller:
An audio recording of a talk former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg has attempted to block from being broadcast has surfaced online.
The full audio of the Feb. 6 event, held at the Aspen Institute, shows that the 73-year-old media mogul’s remarks about minorities and gun control were even more candid in some respects than initially reported.
“It’s controversial, but first thing is all of your — 95 percent of your murders, and murderers, and murder victims fit one [unintelligible]. You can just take the description, Xerox it, and pass it out to all of the cops. They are male, minorities, 15 to 25. That’s true in New York, it’s true in virtually every city in America,” said Bloomberg.
“You’ve got to get the guns out of the hands of the people getting killed,” he continued. “First thing you can do to help that group is to keep them alive.”

Gun-banner Bloomberg to keep armed security guards after leaving Mayor's office.

Laws are for the little people.

Via The Daily Caller
When New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg leaves office today he will enter civilian life protected by firearms.
The same man who has spent much of his career and personal fortune trying to render good, law-abiding men and women defenseless, will now surround himself with a team of armed bodyguards.
Bloomberg’s security detail will be comprised of former police officers that he purchased away from the NYPD with the promise of early retirement, six-figure salaries, and other perks that go along with protecting America’s most notorious anti-gun zealot.

Nanny State Alert: Bloomberg wants to regulate e-cigs into extinction

Who elected Bloomberg God? Doesn't he understand the concept of liberty and free will?

Via Daily Mail
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s crusade to rid the City of all things unhealthy has taken aim at various fattening foods and harmful products like cigarettes and trans fats. He even once tried – and failed – to ban large containers of soda within New York’s five boroughs.

But Bloomberg’s now gone a step further – not only does hizzonor not want you to smoke cigarettes, he doesn’t want you smoke fake cigarettes, either.
Recently leaked drafts of three tobacco-related bills that are expected to be introduced into the City Council indicate that Bloomberg’s planning to regulate e-cigs into extinction.

Bloomberg's Big Gulp ban faces another legal setback...

The dumbest idea a politician ever had has faced another, and hopefully, final legal setback. A state appeals court has upheld the ruling striking down the law.

Via Reuters:
New York City’s plan to ban large sugary drinks from restaurants and other eateries was an illegal overreach of executive power, a state appeals court ruled on Tuesday, upholding a lower court decision in March that struck down the law.
The law, which would have prohibited those businesses from selling sodas and other sugary beverages larger than 16 ounces, “violated the state principle of separation of powers,” the First Department of the state Supreme Court’s Appellate Division said in a unanimous decision.

The wheels are coming off Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns bus...

Anyone not living in a liberal la la land who associates with Bloomberg on any issue is insane...

Via BuzzFeed:
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s gun control group Mayors Against Illegal Guns is finding it hard to keep its membership up, thanks to dozens of resignations and lost elections over the last few months.
Worse for Bloomberg, who has become one of the faces of the gun control movement: the people replacing his lost comrades aren’t particularly eager to sign up with the organization, a rare group battling in the trenches against the well-organized and deep-pocketed National Rifle Association. Some appear not quite to have signed on for that level of political heat.
“The original focus, I thought, was going to be on focusing on better on enforcement of our existing laws, and if anything, we have talked about not getting involved with things like banning assault weapons and banning magazine clips,” said Rockford, Il. Mayor Lawrence Morrissey, who left the group in June because, he said at a town hall meeting, the group had veered from what he originally thought it was about.
Bloomberg’s group has come under fire recently for naming murder suspects, including Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in its list of victims of gun violence and for hosting its website on New York City government servers.
According to an old version of its member list, saved on a blog dated back to late February, more than 50 mayors who were then listed on MAIG’s website are no longer there. Most of the mayors whose names are no longer affiliated with the group are off the list either because they resigned or lost an election, but others have specifically asked to be removed.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg: “I think we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little."

Liberal heads to explode in 3...2...1...

Via NY Post:
Mayor Bloomberg claimed that people of color should be stopped and frisked more — not less — while whites are stopped too frequently.
“I think we disproportionately stop whites too much and minorities too little. It’s exactly the reverse of what they say,” Bloomberg said on his weekly radio show, in response to the City Council passing two bills aimed at reining in the controversial policing tactic.
“I don’t know where they went to school but they certainly didn’t take a math course. Or a logic course.”
The mayor was referring to statistics showing that a majority of serious crimes in the city are carried out by young men of color.

Bloomberg Gun Control In Action: 26 Shootings In Two Days…

The gun control fail boat sails...
BELLEVUE, WA – Six dead and more than two dozen shootings in New York City over the weekend is a sign that Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun agenda – which he hopes to spread across the nation with his big bucks campaigns to buy away the gun rights of American citizens – is beginning to fail, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
“Michael Bloomberg wants to use his wealth to buy Big Apple gun control all over the country,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “Despite reports that New York City violence is actually down from last year, over the weekend, that city accounted for half of the slayings that Seattle has seen so far for the entire first five months of the year.
“Before Bloomberg spends another million dollars trying to spread his program of gun prohibition,” he added, “the mayor ought to concentrate on his own turf and leave the rest of the nation alone.”
A story about the violent weekend held an important revelation about gun control that Gottlieb said has been overlooked. Yahoo News noted, “New York recently became the first state to pass major gun control legislation since the Dec. 14 shootings in Newtown, Conn. The bill that Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law in January both strengthens the state’s existing assault weapons ban and introduces new mental health regulations for potential gun owners. None of that did much to help…a seventh-grader at Middle School 302 in the Bronx and one of three girls to be caught in the line of fire over the last few weeks.”

Nanny Stater Bloomberg takes on sidewalk cafes...

I am beginning to think Bloomberg is insane...

Via NY Post:
The city Department of Consumer Affairs has served notice to 17 popular restaurants that this will be their last season to offer sidewalk cafes — unless they can prove that they comply with zoning regulations.
In some cases, the eateries have been serving street-side customers for more than two decades.
“Please be advised you have 100 business days from and including May 1 to complete one of the following options,” the agency notified owners on April 29.
The options include a “certified land survey” to show they’re operating on private property, filing for a zoning exemption or simply surrendering their permits.
“I don’t know what to do,” said Chel Seng, owner of Sushi Choshi on Irving Place, yesterday.
“It will affect us. It’s very busy in the summer. It’s a main reason people come — to sit outside.”
Other eateries that received the jolting notice include Sant Ambroeus and Friend of the Farmer on Irving Place.
“The owners are panicked,” said Joseph Levey, whose law firm, Helbraun, Levey & Odonoghue, reps hundreds of city eateries. He warned that many could go under.
And diners were not happy about the latest Bloomberg administration crackdown.
“That’s ridiculous. That would take away the cultural image of the West Village,” said Jane Lowe, who was dining outside at Sant Ambroeus with her parents.

Big brother is collecting private information from Bloomberg terminals users

Big brother's name is Bloomberg.  Is anyone surprised?

Via Business Insider:
Earlier today, Mark Decambre of the New York Post broke a bombshell story:
Reporters at Bloomberg News used private information from Bloomberg terminals to spy on employees at Goldman Sachs.
And now it’s clear that Bloomberg reporters used private terminal information to report on at least one other firm, too.
Wall Street firms pay Bloomberg millions of dollars a year to buy Bloomberg terminal accounts for their employees.
Until recently, Bloomberg News reporters with access to these private Bloomberg systems could see when specific Bloomberg clients were logging on and off and various search functions they use.
The Post’s story revealed that reporters at Bloomberg News used this private information to spy on the activity of individual Goldman partners and use the information they discovered in developing Bloomberg news stories.
According to a source at JPMorgan, Bloomberg reporters also secretly used private client information on the terminal while reporting on JPMorgan’s disastrous “London Whale” trade last year.
Bloomberg broke the news that a team of JPMorgan traders in London had made a massive bet on credit derivatives — a bet so big that it was causing distortions in the market.
Bloomberg was also the first organization to name the trader responsible for this bet: Bruno Iksil.

NY Mayor Bloomberg refused second slice of pizza at restaurant because it wasn't healthy for him (parody)

This is a sweet story. Too bad it appears to be a parody...
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg was denied a second slice of pizza today at an Italian eatery in Brooklyn.

The owners of Collegno's Pizzeria say they refused to serve him more than one piece to protest Bloomberg's proposed soda ban, which would limit the portions of soda sold in the city.

Bloomberg was having an informal working lunch with city comptroller John Liu at the time and was enraged by the embarrassing prohibition. The owners would not relent, however, and the pair were forced to decamp to another restaurant to finish their meal.

Bloomberg: NRA supporters are " going against the lives of our children"

Could Michael Bloomberg be any more clueless?
(CNSNews.com) – New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Thursday that lawmakers who are “going with the NRA” are “going against the lives of our children.”
“And we have an obligation to tell each other and to try to convince people that if they’re going with the NRA they’re going against the lives of our children and of you and me,” Bloomberg said during a press conference last week to announce a city-wide recycling program.

Report finds nanny state New York as worst in personal liberty...

NYC Mayor Boomberg is most pleased...

Via New York Post:
New York’s big government — with its hands deep in taxpayers’ pockets and regulations controlling everyone’s lives — has made the Empire State the worst in the nation for personal liberty, a new study shows.
A war on sugary drinks is the least of freedom-loving New Yorkers’ worries, according a report by George Mason University, which rated the state No. 50 for the level of freedom its residents enjoy.
The university found New York’s government slams citizens from every angle — from huge taxes to tight controls on business to myriad rules on all kinds of fun.
“New York has, by a wide margin, the highest taxes in the country,” the report found.
The study cited New York state’s 14 percent income tax, well above the national average.
New York is also the most indebted state, with 33 percent of income dedicated to borrowing in fiscal year 2010, the report said.

Nanny Stater Bloomberg want to make cheapest pack of smokes $10.50...

Can't New York voters make this health Nazi wannabe go away?

Via NYT:
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg opened a new front in his antismoking campaign last week when he proposed new legislation that would require stores to keep tobacco products out of sight, making New York the first city in the nation to do so.
Its companion bill, however, has the potential to be just as groundbreaking, experts on tobacco control said. Along with strengthening the penalties on retailers that evade tobacco taxes, the second bill establishes a minimum price for cigarettes and cigarillos, or little cigars, of $10.50 a pack, the first time such a strategy has been used to combat smoking. The bill also prohibits retailers from redeeming coupons or offering other discounts, like two-for-one deals.
“This is kind of a landmark set of proposals here,” said Kurt Ribisl, a professor of public health at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, whose research on tobacco control influenced Mr. Bloomberg’s proposal. “For someone like me, who’s spent 18 years studying point-of-sale issues, this is kind of big.”

Sad: Bloomberg anti-gun ad violates 3 gun safety rules...

Gov. Cuomo had no idea 7-round magazines weren't available. Mayor Bloomberg has no idea how to safely handle a gun...

Via WaTi:
Mike Bloomberg is spending $12 million on attack ads designed to force U.S. senators to vote for national gun control laws that will supposedly save lives. However, the New York mayor’s commercials running in 13 states over the next two weeks could cause injury or death by showcasing irresponsible handling of a firearm.
Mr. Bloomberg’s organization, Mayors Against Illegal Guns, produced two ads featuring a man holding a shotgun, wearing plaid flannel with a camouflage cap and sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck. While a child swings on a tire in the background, the man says, “I support comprehensive background checks so criminals and the dangerously mentally ill can’t buy guns.”
The ad does not specify if the man is an actor, but he violates all three gun safety rules taught by the National Rifle Association (NRA). (Click here to see the ads.)
The first rule is to always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. In this case, the children are playing in the yard. Although the viewers can’t see what is to the side of the truck, the man should be pointing the muzzle in the air or at the ground.
The second NRA rule is always keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

Bloomberg: “I Do Think There Are Certain Times We Should Infringe On Your Freedom”…

Times like when we want a drink of pop?

Via Red Alert Politics:
When visiting New York City, check your personal freedoms at the door — at least as long as Mayor Michael Bloomberg is in charge.
“I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom,” he said on Sunday morning.
Bloomberg appeared on NBC‘s ‘Meet the Press,’ where host David Gregory grilled the Mayor about his failed soda ban, something Bloomberg said he would appeal.
“We think the judge was just clearly wrong on this,” the Mayor said. ”Our Department of Health has the legal ability to do this.”

Irony: The man who banned the 'Big Gulp" criticizes the man who banned 10 round magazines...

Bloomberg on Cuomo...

Via Politicker:
When Governor Andrew Cuomo quickly passed tough new gun control measures in January, he faced a raft of criticism for skipping the standard deliberative period and allegedly ignoring the more minute legislative details. The criticism recently found new substance with the bill’s apparently unworkable 7-bullet magazine requirement, which Albany is now working to reverse. And, on his weekly radio show with John Gambling, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said that “one criticism” may indeed have merit.

“This is true of a lot of things,” Mr. Bloomberg said after accusing an unrelated City Council bill of having unintended side-effects. “You asked before about the magazines in Albany. We just got to start to thinking a little bit more about the implications of things before we rush to legislate and rush to legislate everything.”

Mr. Bloomberg said allowing additional time to read legislation could have helped avoid this sort of sticky situation, but maintained his “100 percent” support for Mr. Cuomo’s efforts on the gun issue overall.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg booed by Hurricane Sandy survivors...

Apparently, big gulps are more important than disaster rebuilding...

Via NY Post:
Mayor Bloomberg was booed today as he walked in the annual St. Patrick’s Parade in hurricane-hammered Rockaway, Queens.

The jeers grew so loud toward the end of the parade that mayoral candidate and Council Speaker Christine Quinn appeared to break away from the mayor to march separately.

A spokesman for Quinn later said she always intended to walk separately from the mayor.
Locals didn’t spare their ire over the area’s slow recovery, hoisting signs reading, “Mr. Mayor, we need jetties” and “Listen to the Rockaways.”

“We’ve been dying down here, up to our ears in muck trying to rebuild, get back to a regular life,” one heckler told The Post.

“For the politicians to come down here and try to take our celebration and make it their thing … it’s disgusting.”

At the end of the route, Bloomberg thanked the Sanitation Department, said, “This was a great day for the Rockaways,” and abruptly jumped in his car.
