Hypocrisy: Bill Nye celebrates Earth Day by catching a jet flight...
Clueless...
Heading down to DC to catch an #EarthDay flight on Air Force One tomorrow with the President. We're going to #ActOnClimate.

Obama's Earth Day: Fly around and emit 375 TONS of carbon dioxide...
Barack Obama is the green weenie this Earth Day...
Via The Daily Mail:
President Barack Obama is marking the 44th Earth Day with a carbon-emitting extravaganza, spending more than 15 hours on Air Force One and 15 minutes aboard the Marine One helicopter. Not including his motorcades in Oso, Washington, the site of a recent devastating mudslide, his trip will consume an estimated 35,565 gallons of fuel.According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the statistics arm of the Department of Energy, burning each gallon emits 21.1 pounds of carbon dioxide, bringing the president's Earth Day carbon footprint to more than 375.7 tons. The White House did not respond to a question about any measures it might be taking – planting trees, for instance – to offset those emissions.

Hippies celebrate Earth Day by trashing San Francisco park
How can you care about the Earth and trash part of it like this? This mess looks a lot like the aftermath of Obama's inauguration.
Via Huffington Post:
San Francisco may be the greenest city in the nation, but some residents have a funny way of showing their appreciation.
On Earth Day, Marina district residents took their celebrations a little too far, leaving behind a Fort Mason disaster zone.
Our friends over at SFist alerted us to this heinous trashing:
Not to get all hippie-preachy or anything, but this is kind of an offensive amount of trash, right? Do normal and reasonable human beings not look at that mess and say, “. . . maybe we ought to like, I don’t know? Take some of this trash with us? To a trash can?” or “Maybe we should bring that coffee table back home?” We’ve seen our share of litter-y days in Dolores Park and some embarrassing trash pileups in Golden Gate Park, but leaving actual pieces of living room furniture is a whole new level of prickish park use.

Obama Celebrates Earth Day By Burning 53,300 Gallons Of Jet Fuel
He should have took one of those trains Joe Biden loves so much.
(US News) – President Obama declared today’s 41st annual Earth Day proof of America’s ecological and conservation spirit—then completed a three-day campaign-style trip logging 10,666 miles on Air Force One, eating up some 53,300 gallons at a cost of about $180,000. And that doesn’t include the fuel consumption of his helicopter, limo, or the 29 other vehicles that travel with that car.

Obama burns 9000 gallons of jet fuel to celebrate Earth Day

President Obama celebrated Earth Day by flying 895 miles and burning 8,950 gallons of fuel. Why aren't environmentalists up in arms when a Democrat wastes energy? According to CBS News Political Hotsheet,
It happens every time a president leaves town to make an Earth Day speech. Reporters scramble to point out how much fuel was expended so the President could talk about conserving energy and using alternative fuels.
In flying to and from Iowa today, President Obama took two flights on Air Force One and four on Marine One.
The press office at Andrews AFB wouldn’t give me the fuel consumption numbers for the 747 that serves as Air Force One without the approval of the White House Press Office, which as I write this has yet to be given.
But Boeing says its 747 burns about 5 gallons of fuel per mile. It’s 895 miles from Washington to Des Moines, so a round trip brings the fuel consumption for the fixed-wing portion of the President’s trip to 8,950 gallons.
Meanwhile, Al Gore celebrates Earth Day by begging for more money for Democrats in the House of Representatives. From politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com
