The only thing President Obama has truly improved is gun sales

Many things have increased under President Obama. Unemployment, national debt, food stamps and partisan bickering are just a few. Of course, those are not positive things. The only positive thing to increase under President Obama is gun sales. I wonder if he will use that in a campaign ad?
The record for a single year was set just last year, when the FBI reported that 14,409,616 background checks were requested. In 2011 that figure will top 16 million. FBI spokesman Steve Fischer said just 1.3% of background checks result in denial of a weapon.

With a week left in December, the FBI said the monthly record has already been broken, and that was only set last month when 1,534,414 background checks were requested from the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

CNN writes:

Two days before Christmas, NICS ran 102,222 background checks, which was the second-busiest day in history. The one-day record was set this year on Black Friday, the big shopping day following Thanksgiving, with 129,166 searches. By comparison, the previous one-day high was set November 28, 2008, when gun dealers made slightly less than 98,000 requests for background searches.
The NRA said more people are flocking to guns for self defense.

Fascist NY New Castle Councilman Calls Cops on Kid Bake Sale

The kids were selling Rice Krispie treats for a dollar each. They didn't have a license... They crying kids were forced to shut down...

NEW CASTLE- When Andrew DeMarchis and Kevin Graff, two 13-year-olds from Chappaqua's Seven Bridges Middle School, set up shop at Gedney Park on a fall weekend last month, they were expecting a tidy profit.

Instead, the two wannabe entrepreneurs selling cupcakes, cookies, brownies and Rice Krispie treats baked by them for $1 apiece got a taste of cold, hard bureaucracy .

New Castle Councilman Michael Wolfensohn came upon the sale and called the cops on the kids for operating without a license. Read more here.

Sign of the times: Obama merchandise sales are tanking

The Obama store in Union Station is now closed and sales of Obamamania merchandise is way off. If President Obama's approval numbers keep declining, vendors won't be able to give that garbage away.

The Washington Post reported:
Souvenir vendors in Washington say once-thriving sales of the garish merchandise fawning over the president are nowhere near what they were. Sales peaked at the height of Obamamania, between the election and the inauguration, but vendors said that Obama paraphernalia still moved from their shelves through much of 2009...

In Union Station, the souvenir shop once dubbed the Obama Store because of its mostly Obama-related selection (save for the Michael Jackson memorabilia of the same vein that popped up after his death) has closed.

On the other hand, sales of 'Miss Me Yet?' Bush T-Shirts are becoming very popular.

Conservative Bucknell University students have free speech right trampled (video)

Bucknell University students had a bake sale to protest affirmative action. They sold the goods for different prices based on race to make a point. When the Dean found out the protest wasn't in favor of affirmative action, he shut the event down on a technicality. Even though the students had the approved form filed three weeks in advance, the Dean put a stop to the sale because they were charging less than the $2 listed on the form.
