Irony: That anti free speech Mizzou professor who resigned her position is still employed there...

Shell games...

Via Independent Sentinel:
Irony of ironies! Mizzou has a journalism professor who is anti-free speech!
The anti-Free Speech journalism/communications Professor Click at Mizzou, who does research on Lady Gaga, has resigned her courtesy position at the school of journalism but don’t be fooled, she’s still at teaching at the school of communications. They are merely presenting a facade of repercussions for having an anti-free speech professor in the school of journalism.
She can’t teach at the school of journalism but she can at the school of communications? She’s going to communicate her fascist, anti-free speech blather. She can also review papers!
This is how far we’ve come under the so-called liberals. It’s actually fascism. That’s funny or ironical or insane. Choose one.

Did you know your free speech rights don't apply on the steps of the Supreme Court?

This is just another example of the Washington elite making rules to keep the little people under control.
The Supreme Court is designated as the ultimate protector of constitutional rights, but the guarantee of protest and free speech ends on the steps to the plaza in front of the court’s grand marble temple, a unanimous federal appeals court panel ruled Friday.
Demonstrators are allowed on the sidewalk in front of the court but not any closer to the famous portico promising “Equal Justice Under Law,” three judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit decided.
The fight over where protesters get to protest has been going on for years.
The appeals court judges upheld a 1949 law that forbids demonstrations on the grounds of the high court, on the premise that protests at the court’s doorstep might lead to the perception that the justices are swayed by vox populi rather than the dictates of the law.

Irony: Some alleged news organization with "The Patriot-News" in their name eliminates free speech...

Could they at least drop "The Patriot-News" part of their name?
On Friday, the United States crossed a similar threshold, continuing a long road to acceptance of same-sex unions.
And this news organization now crosses another threshold.
As a result of Friday’s ruling, PennLive/The Patriot-News will very strictly limit op-Eds [sic] and letters to the editor in opposition to same-sex marriage.
These unions are now the law of the land. And we will not publish such letters and op-Eds [sic] any more than we would publish those that are racist, sexist or anti-Semitic.

Mother sues Board of Education after son arrested for4 wearing NRA t-shirt

Let's hope she wins and the school board is ousted at the next election.
LOGAN, W.Va. – The mother of a West Virginia middle schooler who was suspended for wearing a National Rifle Association t-shirt to school is suing the Logan County Board of Education for allegedly violating her son’s constitutional rights.

Tanya Lardieri filed the lawsuit on behalf of her son, Jared Marcum, who was charged with disrupting the educational process and obstructing an officer in 2013 when he refused to turn his NRA t-shirt inside-out, the Charleston Gazette reports.
Those charges were later dismissed by a judge, but Marcum was forced to serve a one day suspension for his defiance.
“The shirt was an un-alarming olive green tee shirt bearing the NRA logo, which is the letters ‘NRA’ in black, the words ‘PROTECT YOUR RIGHT,’ an image of a hunting rifle and the officials NRA logo which has an eagle and two cross firearms,” according to the lawsuit cited by the Gazette.

The lawsuit names several school board members, the school district superintendent, as well as the principal, a teacher and staffers at Logan Middle School, according to the Logan Banner.

Stupid: University of Kentucky surveys students about how much they want to restrict free speech

Sadly, the choice of 'no restriction' wasn't even on the survey.

Via Campus Reform:
Free speech may soon be a luxury on the University of Kentucky’s campus after the school’s student government surveyed the university community on how much they’d like to restrict the First Amendment through free speech zones.
In an emailed survey to students, UK’s student government asked students to choose their preferred free speech policy for the university’s public campus.
Students could choose between a “single designated free speech zone in a specific location on campus,” or “multiple designated free speech zones in various locations across campus.” Students could also choose “no preference.”

Senate democrats to vote on Amendment to overrule part of 1st Amendment

Free speech is for liberals, not their political enemies...
Via The Hill:
Senate Democrats will schedule a vote this year on a constitutional amendment to reform campaign finance as they face tens of millions of dollars worth of attack ads from conservative groups.
The Senate will vote on an amendment sponsored by Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) that would overturn two recent court cases that have given corporations, labor unions and wealthy individuals free rein to spend freely on federal races.
“The Supreme Court is trying to take this country back to the days of the robber barons, allowing dark money to flood our elections. That needs to stop, and it needs to stop now,” said Senate Rules Committee Chairman Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), who announced the plan.
“The only way to undo the damage the court has done is to pass Senator Udall’s amendment to the Constitution, and Senate Democrats are going to try to do that,” he said.
Schumer said the vote would take place by year’s end and called on Republican colleagues to join Democrats to ensure “the wealthy can’t drown out middle-class voices in our Democracy.”

Semi-truck box trailer with "Democrats - Party of the Parasites" message gets torched twice

Do you remember when Democrats used to defend free speech? That isn't true anymore. Democrats now want to silence the opposition. We might guess it was some free speech hating Democrat(s) who burnt David Jungerman's semi-truck trailer twice because he had this message painted on the side.
Are you a Producer or Parasite

Democrats - Party of the Parasites

Oh, and they torched his farmhouse too.

KansasCity.com reported:

So when the 72-year-old Raytown man wanted to speak out politically, he used what he had handy: a 45-foot-long, semi-truck box trailer.

On May 12, Jungerman’s trailer was torched...

Then flames erupted in an empty farm house that Jungerman owns.

Score a Victory for Freedom of Speech

An employee at North Carolina’s Camp Lejeune has won a victory for free speech. After his son was killed in the USS Cole attack, he put decals on his vehicle pointing out the link between Islam and terrorism. Marine Corps officials told him to remove the decals or he couldn't park on federal property because they were offensive. Meanwhile, the Marine Corps allowed pro-Islamic decals. A Federal judge ruled this week he could keep the anti-Islamic decals as long as the military allowed the pro-Islamic ones.

Judge Sonia Sotomayor ruled against free speech

Bloggers beware. Judge Sonia Sotomayor ruled against free speech on the internet in 2007. A high school student was disqualified from running for school government because she posted a derogatory comment about a school administrator on her blog. The student and her mother went to court alleging her free speech rights were violated. Sotomayor joined two other judges in ruling that the student’s off-campus blog remarks created a “foreseeable risk of substantial disruption” at the student’s high school. They ruled that the teenager was not entitled to a preliminary injunction reversing a disciplinary action against her. NBC Connecticut reported:
In August 2007, Judge Sonia Sotomayor sat on a panel that ruled against an appeal in Doninger v. Niehoff.

Avery Doninger was disqualified from running for school government at Lewis S. Mills High School in Burlington after she posted something on her blog, referring to the superintendent and other officials as "douche bags" because they canceled a battle of the bands she had helped to organize.

The case went to court and in March 2008, Sotomayor was on a panel that heard Doninger’s mother’s appeal alleging her daughter’s free speech and other rights were violated. Her mother wanted to prevent the school from barring her daughter from running.

Sotomayor joined two other judges from the 2nd Circuit in ruling that the student’s off-campus blog remarks created a “foreseeable risk of substantial disruption” at the student’s high school and that the teenager was not entitled to a preliminary injunction reversing a disciplinary action against her, Education Week reports.

Massachusetts Hands Out Free Cars to Welfare Recipients

If you are on welfare, you should move to the state of Massachusetts. You can get a free car with free insurance and free repairs. Why bother to work? This is an example of the kind of socialist state Obama is moving America towards. The Boston Herald is reporting:
Gov. Deval Patrick’s free wheels for welfare recipients program is revving up despite the stalled economy, as the keys to donated cars loaded with state-funded insurance, repairs and even AAA membership are handed out to get them to work.

But the program - fueled by a funding boost despite the state’s fiscal crash - allows those who end up back on welfare to keep the cars anyway.

“It’s mind-boggling. You’ve got people out there saying, ‘I just lost my job. Hey, can I get a free car, too?’ ” said House Minority Leader Brad Jones (R-North Reading).

History Lesson: Thatcher's Last Stand Against Socialism(video)

Younger conservatives may not remember conservative British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. She was an inspiration. Here is her last speech before the House of Commons on November 22, 1990. She takes her socialistic critics "head on."

Conservative Bucknell University students have free speech right trampled (video)

Bucknell University students had a bake sale to protest affirmative action. They sold the goods for different prices based on race to make a point. When the Dean found out the protest wasn't in favor of affirmative action, he shut the event down on a technicality. Even though the students had the approved form filed three weeks in advance, the Dean put a stop to the sale because they were charging less than the $2 listed on the form.

Officer pulls over driver and seizes anti-Obama sign(video)

Officer pulls over driver and seizes anti-Obama sign. This is outrageous. No unbiased police officer should think a sign saying abort Obama, not the unborn was a threat to President Obama. The sign has now been returned to the driver. However, he did get a visit from the Secret service. They did not find him to be a threat.
