Nonpartisan Cook Report Predicts GOP House Takeover

The nonpartisan Cook report is now predicting a GOP House takeover. This comes on the heel of horrible polling numbers on the Generic Congressional Ballot for Democrats.
Cook Political Report: "For the first time, our internal race-by-race model estimates a GOP gain of over 40 seats. We are revising our House forecast to a Republican gain of at least 40 seats, the minimum to give them majority status, and very possibly substantially more...

Liberals are still in denial. Here are some comments from Political Wire.

I say NO! They will not take the house. If they do, I will post a congratulatory message to the republicans on this board, but I'm still thinking the GOP gain will be 25-30.

I agree... I think GOTV campaigns are being underestimated. I think this election cycle is going to reinforce the notion that all politics is local. I'd think otherwise if the Democratic run on special elections during the height of the healthcare debate wasn't so blatantly successful.

Still not buying it Charlie. What will you say on November 3rd when the Democrats maintain the House and Senate? Huh?

Nothing to see here, move along. Cook's just trying to sell subscriptions and scare people. Rest easy.

Dick Morris Predicts Democrats Will Lose 80 House Seats (video)

Last night, Dick Morris told Greta Van Susteren Democrats will be “losing 80 seats” in this year’s Midterm Elections. That would be a new record. The old record is the 74 seats that Republicans lost in 1922. Let's hope he is right.

Nate Silver Predicts Democrats to Lose 6 or 7 Senate Seats

The latest FiveThirtyEight forecasting model has Democrats losing 66.5 seats in the Senate this fall.
On average, over the model’s 100,000 simulation runs, the Democrats are projected to lose a net of six and a half Senate seats, which would leave them with 52 or 53 senators.

The model also predicts there is a 20% chance of Democrats losing control of the Senate to Republicans.
The Democratic majority is in increasing jeopardy in the Senate, according to the latest FiveThirtyEight forecasting model. The Democrats now have an approximately 20 percent chance of losing 10 or more seats in the Senate...

Nate Silver is an American statistician whose work first appeared on Daily Kos. That should tell you his political affiliation. However, he has a good record of accuracy.

Boehner Predicts GOP could pick up 100 seats or more

100 seats would cause Pelosi to hand over her gavel to Boehner.

The Republican leadership is beginning to smell the democratic blood in the water. After 'Cap and Trade,' Obamacare and Immigration reform, Democrats are going to strike out this fall.

The Hill reported:
House Republicans could win 100 or more seats in this fall's elections, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Friday.

Boehner said he believes there is no seat that the GOP cannot win during this election cycle, judging by Sen. Scott Brown's (R) improbable win in January's special election in Massachusetts....

"At least 100 seats," Boehner said when asked how wide the playing field for districts is. "I do," the top House Republican answered when asked if he thinks there are 100 seats in the U.S. "that could change hands."

Pollster Frank Luntz on Obamacare: You Will See Democrats Defeated in Places That Haven’t Elected a Republican Since 1994 (Video)

Pollster Frank Luntz is predicting a bloodbath for Democrats if they pass the current version of Obamacare by the reconciliation process.
Frank Luntz: I will tell you two things will happen. One is that everyone who is opposed to this (Obamacare) will positively come out and vote because they will feel that it is not only their right but their responsibility to send a message and two, you will see democrats defeated in places that haven’t elected a Republican since 1994.
