New Global Warming Scare: Climate Change Will Kill 100 Million By 2030...

Al Gore will mount his trusty unicorn and save the planet...
LONDON (Reuters) —More than 100 million people will die and global economic growth will be cut by 3.2 per cent of gross domestic product by 2030 if the world fails to tackle climate change, a report commissioned by 20 governments said on Wednesday.
As global average temperatures rise due to greenhouse gas emissions, the effects on the planet, such as melting ice caps, extreme weather, drought and rising sea levels, will threaten populations and livelihoods, said the report conducted by humanitarian organization DARA.
It calculated that five million deaths occur each year from air pollution, hunger and disease as a result of climate change and carbon-intensive economies, and that toll would likely rise to six million a year by 2030 if current patterns of fossil fuel use continue.
More than 90 per cent of those deaths will occur in developing countries, said the report that calculated the human and economic impact of climate change on 184 countries in 2010 and 2030. It was commissioned by the Climate Vulnerable Forum, a partnership of 20 developing countries threatened by climate change.
“A combined climate-carbon crisis is estimated to claim 100 million lives between now and the end of the next decade,” the report said.

Fear sets in among Democrats about Obama's re-election chance

Money quote:
“I’m scared as [expletive],”

Via Washington Examiner:
President Obama’s campaign manager had a clear message Monday for supporters wary of the president’s standing in an increasingly competitive race for the White House: Chill out.
“We knew this was going to be a tough race,” Jim Messina said in the campaign’s latest web video. “Here’s one more thing you can tell your friends when they ask you about the latest polls: We’re actually ahead of where we were at this point last time around.”
New polling shows Obama in a virtual dead heat with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who is gaining on the president as the economic recovery sputters and Romney distances himself from a divisive primary battle. [...]
A growing chorus of Democrats, citing a shifting mood among voters, are wondering why Obama isn’t doing better than he is five months out from the election.
“I’m scared as [expletive],” one top Democratic strategist told The Washington Examiner, granted anonymity to candidly discuss Obama’s re-election prospects. “This message from the campaign is clearly a laughable attempt to gloss over a terrible patch for the president.
Added Democratic strategist Doug Schoen, “It’s gone from ‘We expect he’ll be re-elected’ to ‘We think he’ll be re-elected’ to ‘We hope he’ll be re-elected’ to ‘He’ll probably be re-elected if everything goes right.’ Yes, they have something to worry about.”

Unnecessary Advice: Obama Tells Democrat to "Run Scared"

I am sure the legions of terrified Democratic candidates across this county will appreciate that advice from 'Captain Obvious.'

The Hill
reported:
Throughout the evening, Obama warned Democrats that it is going to be a "difficult" election year, but he specifically told Providence Mayor David Cicilline, the man running for retiring Rep. Patrick Kennedy's seat, to "run scared."

While Obama said he is confident that Democrats will retain Kennedy's seat, he warned Cicilline to keep up the intensity.

"Don't take it for granted," Obama said told a small gathering. "Run scared."
