The State Department does a Friday Benghazi document dump....

All the documents still have not been turned over...

Via Free Beacon:
The State Department turned over 1,600 pages of previously undisclosed documents related to Hillary Clinton and Libya to the House Benghazi committee on Friday, a month after it revealed the existence of the documents in an unrelated court case.
The House Select Committee on Benghazi announced it received the records on Friday, adding that the State Department has yet to fully comply with document requests the committee made nearly a year ago.
“Today the State Department turned over more than 1,600 pages of new documents related to former Secretary Clinton and Libya,” the committee said. “The State [Department] claimed in a January 8th court filing that it only recently discovered these new documents from the Office of the Secretary.”

The RINO stampede to allow Obama to name another liberal to the Supreme Court has began...

What are the voters thinking when they elect these Democrats posing as Republicans?
Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said Wednesday that he doesn't think Republican senators should filibuster President Obama's Supreme Court nominee.
“I don't think we should filibuster Supreme Court nominees or any judicial nominees," he told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Wednesday.
Under a filibuster, 60 votes would be required to clear procedural hurdles ahead of a final confirmation vote.
At the same time, Hatch, a member of the Judiciary Committee, said in the interview that he would support whatever decision made by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the panel’s chairman.
He suggested that if Grassley so chooses, he could close down a debate over who should succeed Justice Antonin Scalia, who died on Saturday.
"All it would take is for Sen. Grassley to just say, ‘Look, we're not going to confirm anybody this year. The reason we're not going to confirm is because we value the court, we don't want it to be in this political atmosphere,’” Hatch said.
Hatch’s comments add to the mixed signals sent by Republicans over their strategy for handling an Obama nominee.

Alan Grayson want to go "Birther" if Ted Cruz is GOP nominee...

I thought birthers were supposed to be crazy.
Florida Congressman Alan Grayson told radio host Alan Colmes Wednesday that if Ted Cruz is elected president, he “will file that beautiful lawsuit saying that he’s unqualified for the job” according to the Constitution.
Cruz was born in Canada to a native-born American mother, making the presidential candidate a dual Canadian-American citizen. It was not until a 2013 Dallas Morning News article that Cruz acknowledged his Canadian citizenry publicly. In 2014, the senator renounced his Canadian citizenship altogether.

Flashback to 2005: Sen. Obama claims nuclear option "...not what the Founders had in mind...will poison Washington.”

Flashback to 2005: Harry Reid defends filibuster for stalling executive nominees...

Harry Reid is a piece of excrement...

Sen. Harry Reid, Floor Remarks, 5/18/05

Harry Reid goes nuclear...

Democrats will regret this when Republicans control the Senate and White House...

Via Fox News:
Senate Democrats bowled over Republicans on Thursday to win approval for a highly controversial rule change which would limit the GOP's ability to block nominees, in a move Republicans called a "raw power grab."
"It's a sad day in the history of the Senate," Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said after the vote.
Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., moving quickly following days of speculation, used the so-called "nuclear option" to pass the change. Typically, major changes like this take 67 votes, but he did it with just a simple majority.
With Republicans fuming, the change weakens the power of the minority to stall nominations for top positions. Instead of needing 60 votes to break a filibuster, the change means Democrats will now need just 51.

Harry Reid threatens 'nuclear option' if Republicans fail to cave on filibuster in 36 hours...

Harry Reid is flexing his geriatric muscles...

Via The Hill:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is giving Republican colleagues 36 hours to agree to a deal on filibuster reform or he will move forward with the nuclear option.

“I hope in the next 24, 36 hours we can get something we agree on. If not, we’re going to move forward on what I think needs to be done,” Reid told reporters.

Flashback: Joe Biden Tells Republicans How Wrong It Is To Ignore Parliamentarian

Senator Joe Biden:
You can not change the Senate rules by by a pure majority vote...
Unless your name is Harry Reid.
In a shocking development Thursday evening, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) triggered a rarely used procedural option informally called the “nuclear option” to change the Senate rules.

Reid and 50 members of his caucus voted to change Senate rules unilaterally to prevent Republicans from forcing votes on uncomfortable amendments after the chamber has voted to move to final passage of a bill.

Reid’s coup passed by a vote of 51-48, leaving Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) fuming.

Now that Harry Reid and Democrats have dispensed with the Senate rules, Republicans can use this to good effect after they take power in 2012.

Democrats Diss McCain's Call to Reform Bipartisan ‘Gang of 14’ to Stop 'Nuclear Option'

In 2005, Senator McCain helped form the bipartisan 'Gang of 14' to stop Republicans from using the 'nuclear option' to force President George W. Bush’s judicial nominees through with a simple majority vote. Now, McCain is trying to reform the bipartisan 'Gang of 14' and stop President Obama and Harry Reid from using the 'nuclear option' to pass Obamacare. So far, no Democrat is interested.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is seeking bipartisan support to block Senate Democrats from using special parliamentary tactics to pass healthcare reform....

And McCain reminded Democrats that he was a member of the bipartisan Gang of 14, which stopped Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) from using the so-called nuclear option in 2005.
It's time for a similar gang, he said. So far, he’s had no takers.
