Truth Revealed: Nurses Union Was Behind Illegal Alien Maid’s Attack on Meg Whitman

It figures. California Nurses Association union was behind the maids attack on failed GOP California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported:

One of the most tantalizing mysteries in California’s 2010 gubernatorial election involved the connection between one of the state’s poorest women and one of its wealthiest.

How did an undocumented, Mexican-born housekeeper, Nicandra Diaz Santillan, end up in the national spotlight, boldly confronting her former boss, billionaire GOP gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman?

The short answer: with the help of a union.

The longer answer is that at the height of the gubernatorial race, as campaign ads blared on Spanish-language television, the aggrieved housekeeper was determined to tell Californians her story of being abruptly fired by Whitman after nearly a decade on the job.

In early September, Diaz turned to a friend who knew a member of the powerful, Oakland-based California Nurses Association, The Chronicle has learned.

The union called in two lawyers for Diaz:
Marc Van Der Hout, a longtime immigration attorney in San Francisco, and celebrity feminist attorney Gloria Allred, a fierce workplace rights litigator who arranged for Diaz to tell her story in a live-webcast news conference.

Asked to confirm her organization’s role in Diaz’s case, Rose Ann DeMoro, the nurses union executive director, said Monday, “I won’t deny it, but I prefer not to comment directly on the case.

Jerry Brown Admitted He Lied to Become Governor (video)

Meg Whitman has some fun in a political ad with Jerry Brown's candid admission several years ago that he lied in order to be elected. It is unlikely he has changes in the intervening years.

Again

Via NewsBusters:
Interviewer: ...What did you lie about when you were governor?

Jerry Brown: It’s all a lie. You’re pretending there’s a plan…

Interviewer: What did you lie about?

Jerry Brown: You run for office and the assumption is “Oh, I know what to do”. You don’t. I didn’t have a plan for California. Clinton doesn’t have a plan. Bush doesn’t have a plan.

Interviewer: You said you had a plan for California and you lied because you didn’t have a plan?

Jerry Brown: You say you’re going to lower taxes, you’re going to put people to work, you’re gonna improve the schools, you’re going to stop crime… crime is up, schools are worse, taxes are higher. I mean be real!

NOW Position on Meg Whitman Being Called a Whore: Fire someone...It's a teachable moment...She really is a whore

The National Organization for Women (NOW) endorsed Jerry Brown for Governor of California one day after Jerry Brown approved of a campaign aid's depiction of Meg Whitman as a "whore" in remarks that were thought to be off the record. After receiving criticism for their hypocrisy, NOW on Wednesday called on Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown to fire the aide responsible for the remark. Now's position was quickly walked back after there were claims the aide who used the "W" word was actually Jerry Brown's wife. Suddenly, the whole episode changes from a "firing offense" to a "teachable moment."
The National Organization for Women on Wednesday called on Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jerry Brown to fire the supposed aide who suggested the campaign call Republican Meg Whitman a "whore."

Hours later, however, they backed away from that position, calling the incident "a teachable moment."

After the rapidly changing NOW position on Wednesday, California NOW President Parry Bellasalma agreed in an interview with using the "W" word to characterize Whitman as a "Political whore."
...California NOW President Parry Bellasalma, who today told TPM in response to a question that "Meg Whitman could be described as 'a political whore.' Yes, that's an accurate statement."

Could NOW do anything else to look more hypocritical and partisan?

The Latest Democrat Dirty Campaign Tactic: Call Your Opponent a "Whore"

A Jerry Brown aide suggested calling Meg Whitman a "Whore" on tape. Brown responded, “Well, I’m going to use that.” This should help Brown with women voters.

Here is the raw audio. You may need to turn up the volume in the last part of the audio.

The audio is a voice mail Jerry Brown left union official Scott Rate. Unfortunately for Brown, he failed to correctly hang up. Oops!

Meg Whitman Vindicated in Maid Hiring Scandal

The liberal media ran with a hit piece claiming Meg Whitman knowingly hired an illegal immigrant.
California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman today found herself battling allegations that she knowingly employed an undocumented immigrant housekeeper, failed to pay a portion of her wages and then fired her in an act of political damage control.

Unfortunately for them, Whitman keeps good records and has released documentation proving the maid falsified her application.
The documents, which Whitman claims Nicky filled out and signed back in 2000 during her application for employment, appear to show that the maid stated under the penalty of perjury that she was a “lawful permanent resident” of the United States.

Whitman also claims Nicky provided her with a social security card and valid California Driver’s License with her employment application … which Meg kept and has now handed over to TMZ.

Will the GOP's Next Rising Star Emerge From Liberal California?

Many people think that California could the the place the revitalization of the Republican party occurs. Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman may spring onto the national scene by becoming the next governor of California.

From the San Francisco Chronicle:
(08-09) 19:45 PDT -- Despite California's sorry status as an economic basket case, some GOP voices are suggesting, ever so hopefully, that the Golden State could be poised for a new profile - as the birthplace of a potential renaissance for the Republican Party. Many people think former eBay CEO Meg Whitman will spring onto the national scene by becoming the next governor of California.

And it could start at the top, some argue, with the 2010 campaign for governor.

National conservative columnist George Will penned a gushing piece to that effect after he got a rare, close-up look at billionaire former eBay CEO Meg Whitman and her well-funded campaign to become the next Republican governor. "Although California is a blue state, it has had Republican governors for 30 of the last 43 years," he wrote. "The Republican revival nationally might begin here next year."

Fox News pundit Fred Barnes, the executive editor of the Weekly Standard, has also gone gaga over Whitman, turning California into a potential stepping stone for the GOP's comeback.

"Everything is going to change after the 2010 election, when all these new faces will come into the Republican Party," he recently predicted.

And Whitman, he wrote, could be the key as "governor of the biggest state, a brainy, conservative, accomplished woman at the top of the Republican ladder. When Reagan was elected governor in 1966, the speculation about national office - president, vice president - erupted instantly."
