Change: After the election is over, Wendy Davis admits she doesn't really support open carry...

Democrats will say anything to get elected or pass laws they support. The truth is secondary to their goals. Be skeptical of what Republicans say and never believe anything a Democrat says.

Former Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, in her first interview after losing by 20 points to governor-elect Greg Abbott, admitted she only claimed to support an open-carry gun law in order to win votes.
“There is one thing that I would do differently in that campaign, and it relates to the position that I took on open-carry,” Davis told the San Antonio Express-News on Monday. “I made a quick decision on that with a very short conversation with my team and it wasn't really in keeping with what I think is the correct position on that issue.”
Davis added that she does support “people’s right to own and to bear arms in appropriate situations,” but fears that open carry would be used “to intimidate and cause fear.”

Amusing: Tea Partier now holds State Senate seat Wendy Davis gave up to run for governor...

Republican Konni Burton is also pro-life...

Via NRO:
[B]ut what is ultimately refreshing about Tuesday’s results in the Lone Star State is not simply that a bad candidate lost; rather, what lost were the extravagant efforts by national Democrats and a left-wing media complex to champion as the bold new face of their party a candidate who insisted that Texas was one Republican governor away from segregated water fountains and Hobby Lobby goon-squads policing women’s uteruses.
If Democrats want to peddle that shtick successfully, they should stick to San Francisco.
One last tidbit: Davis’s former Texas senate seat, which she gave up to run for governor? It now belongs to Republican Konni Burton. She is a tea-partier, and pro-life.

Demos abandon 'Abortion Barbie'...

Priorities...
Via WSJ:
Despite the hype surrounding Texas Democrat Wendy Davis’s run for governor, the chairman of the Democratic Governors Association didn’t include her state in a list of top targets in 2014.
Ms. Davis, a state senator, gained national acclaim for filibustering a bill last year that increased regulation of abortion clinics and banned abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Polls show Republican nominee Greg Abbott with a double-digit lead in the state, which hasn’t elected a Democrat since 1994.
“We’re hopeful in Texas but we all understand that Democrats haven’t won Texas in a long time,” DGA Chairman and Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin told reporters Tuesday at the Third Way think tank. He added, “We hope this will be our year.”

Interesting: FBI is reportedly probing past legal work done by Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis

Hmm...
Via The DC
The FBI is probing past legal work done by Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, according to a report her Republican opponent’s campaign calls a “bombshell.”
The Dallas Morning News reported Friday that documents “related to Sen. Wendy Davis’ work as a lawyer for the North Texas Tollway Authority are part of an FBI inquiry of the agency.”
The news outlet said it’s unclear how much this investigation revolves around Davis, the Democratic nominee for governor.
“It’s not clear whether Davis’ work for the tollway authority is a focus of the FBI or only part of the material collected in connection with its look into tollway agency operations,” the paper wrote.
“We are not aware that Wendy Davis is the subject or target of any investigation,” her campaign told the outlet.
But the campaign for her Republican opponent, Greg Abbott, is raising questions in the wake of the revelation.
“This revelation — the latest in a series of bombshells regarding Sen. Davis’ ethical conduct — is both shocking and unsurprising at the same time,” Abbott communications director Matt Hirsch said.

Dem Poll indicates abortion Barbie's Texas gubernatorial bid is failing miserably...

The best part of this poll is realizing democrats wasted over $12.5 million in campaign donations.

Via PPP:
PPP’s newest Texas poll finds Republicans leading by double digits in all of the state’s major races for 2014.
In the Governor’s race Greg Abbott’s at 51% to 37% for Wendy Davis. Those numbers are largely unchanged from our last poll of the state in early November when Abbott had a 50/35 advantage. Davis had a 39/29 favorability rating right after her famous filibuster last June, but since then voters in the state have mostly moved toward having negative opinions about her and now she’s at a 33/47 spread. Davis’ name recognition is actually 12 points higher than Abbott’s, but his reviews break down favorably with 40% having a positive view of him to 27% with a negative one.
One thing that may be working to Abbott’s benefit is that for the first time ever in PPP’s Texas polling Rick Perry has a positive approval rating, with 48% of voters approving of him to 44% who disapprove. Perry’s net approval has improved 18 points from where it was 2 years ago at this time in the wake of his failed Presidential bid, when only 39% of voters gave him good marks with 53% disapproving.

Rock bottom for Wendy Davis: Bristol Plain slams her for being a poor mother...

Via Wonkette:
Take it away, Bristol!
Turns out, she lied about much of her “pulling herself up by her own bootstraps” story. Actually, she found a man to marry her, pay her way through college, and then through Harvard Law School. The day after he paid the last bill, she left him. By the way, she left her kids too. She said, “it’s not a good time for me right now” to be a parent.
Is everyone paying attention? This woman is the hero of the Left? A woman whose ambition and ego were so big she couldn’t have both a career and kids at the same time.

Wendy Davis to paralyzed GOP opponent: “never walked a mile in my shoes.”

Seriously? How did anyone with optics this poor ever rise to prominence in the democratic party? With democrats it's about the image, not the substance. Unfortunately for democrats, much of the image Wendy Davis has constructed id fake. Based on her college yearbook picture, her hair color appears fake too (or it was then.)

Via LifeNews:
It’s just getting worse and worse for abortion activist Wendy Davis, who is falling on her own sword in the Texas gubernatorial race.
First, Davis was caught by a Dallas newspaper lying about her story of being a single mom who overcame adversity. Then, she sought to blame her problems on pro-life candidate for governor Greg Abbott. Now, in attacking Abbot, she’s stuck her foot in her mouth saying he’s “never walked a mile in my shoes.”
Problem is, Abbott can’t. He’s a paraplegic who is confined to a wheelchair.

Abortion Barbie's image meltdown continues...

Democrats are good at creating fake resumes.  They fall apart is the press does it's job. Unfortunately, when it comes to Obama, the press is afraid to do it's job. Wendy Davis isn't that lucky.

Via Red State:
News has broken that Wendy Davis lied about her background. She is now playing victim blaming Greg Abbott.
It is her ex-husband who talked to a left-of-center Dallas reporter. It is also her ex-husband who asked a Texas District Court to issue a temporary restraining order against Wendy Davis in 2003.
In that order, the judge ordered that Wendy Davis “be immediately restrained from . . . using illegal drugs or consuming alcohol within 24 hours before or during the period of possession of or access to the child.”
Speaking of the child, at the time her twelve year old daughter requested her father serve as her managing conservator.

Unlikely: Abortion Barbie (TX State Senator Wendy Davis) Declares She Is Pro-Life...

Wendy Davis is famous among abortion lovers for a 11 hour filibuster of a bill placing commonsense rules on abortion clinics. She now has aspirations to be the Governor of Texas.

Via Life News:
The Wendy Davis apology tour concluded with her attempting to get voters to think she’s not obsessed with promoting late-term abortions up to the day of birth.
From a local news report
“I am pro-life,” she said, borrowing from the label anti-abortion activists assign themselves. “I care about the life of every child: every child that goes to bed hungry, every child that goes to bed without a proper education, every child that goes to bed without being able to be a part of the Texas dream, every woman and man who worry about their children’s future and their ability to provide for that future. I care about life and I have a record of fighting for people above all else.”
