Hey, it's not like we have a national debt of $16 trillion or anything...
(CNSNews.com) – The
White House announced the federal government will spend $6 billion over
four years for a “sustainable energy future” plan with Asian countries
that involves loaning tax dollars to other countries to increase their
purchasing power for U.S. technology, services and equipment.
“Recognizing that energy and the environment are among the most
pressing issues confronting our region, President Obama, in partnership
with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei and President of the
Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, today proposed the
U.S.-Asia Pacific Comprehensive Partnership for a Sustainable Energy
Future,” the White House announced Tuesday as Obama visits Asian Pacific
countries.
The initiative comes after the Obama administration has been
criticized for spending billions to subsidize U.S.-based green energy
companies that went on to declare bankruptcy, including Solyndra, Ener1,
A123, Beacon Power and other failed renewable energy ventures.
Unfortunately, this isn't true for the US. Seventy-nine percent (79%) of the $2 billion in clean-energy grants allocated since Sept. 1, 2009 has gone overseas to foreign countries. China has been the recipient of most of this largess.
Senate Democrats are furious that the vast majority of grants from the clean-energy program from last year’s stimulus have been awarded to foreign companies.
Democratic Party organ VoteVets.org is attacking Mitch McConnell and other top Republicans in a series of dishonest ads tying terrorism with clean energy. This 501(c)(4) tax exempt group is supposed to be nonpartisan, but they appear to be an organ of the left wing of the Democratic Party. A quick trip to their front page shows they are endorsing three democrats for Congress and running hit ads against top Republicans. Due to the fact 501(c)(4) groups can take unlimited anonymous donations, it is unclear who is funding this group, but they seem to have a lot of money to throw around. In case you don't know, what they mean by Clean Energy Bill is Cap-and-Trade legislation. Calling Cap-and-Trade legislation bipartisan is just the beginning of their dishonesty. Trying to tie opposition to Cap-and-Trade to being soft on terrorism is ridiculous. Why the FEC allows this is beyond me.
