Housing Sales Headache: New Home Sales Fall to 1963 level

The housing tax incentive for home buyers has ended. This incentive was for housing what 'cash for clunkers' was for vehicles. Now that the artificially pumped up sales have ended, the inevitable has happened. New home sales have collapsed to the lowest level since the year JFK was assassinated. That breaks a low housing sales record that has stood for 47 years.

AP reported:
Sales of new homes collapsed last month, sinking 33 percent to the lowest level on record as potential buyers stopped shopping for homes once they could no longer get government incentives.

The Commerce Department says new home sales fell in May from a month earlier to a seasonally adjusted annual sales pace of 300,000. That was the slowest sales pace on records dating back to 1963.

Republicans Win Obama's Hawaii Home District! The Momentum Builds!

Can anyone say momentum? The GOP has captured President Obama youth home district in a House special election. This seat had been held by democrats for over 20 years.
Republicans scored a midterm election victory Saturday when Honolulu City Councilman Charles Djou won a Democratic-held House seat in Hawaii in the district where President Obama grew up -- the latest triumph for the GOP as it looks to take back control of Congress...

Djou received 67,274 votes, or 39.5 percent. He was trailed by state Senate President Colleen Hanabusa, a Democrat who received 52,445 votes, or 30.8 percent. The other leading Democrat, former U.S. Rep. Ed Case, received 47,012 votes, or 27.6 percent.

Barack Obama's home state of Illinois "near the point of fiscal disintegration"

If you think California is in bad shape financially, Barack Obama's home state of Illinois isn't much better off. Forty-six percent of their $28 billion budget is a deficit.
Barack Obama's home state of Illinois is near the point of fiscal disintegration...

The state has been paying bills with unfunded vouchers since October. A fifth of buses have stopped. Libraries, owed $400m (£263m), are closing one day a week. Schools are owed $725m. Unable to pay teachers, they are preparing mass lay-offs. "It's a catastrophe", said the Schools Superintendent.

In Alexander County, the sheriff's patrol cars have been repossessed; three-quarters of his officers are laid off; the local prison has refused to take county inmates until debts are paid.

On top of this, the Chicago Tribune has reported Illinois has the poorest funded pension systems in the nation. Soon, Illinois may run out of budget gimmicks and financially disintegrate.

Why does Obama want the GPS coordinates to your house?

The Obama administration is currently involved in an effort to collect the GPS coordinates to every front door in America. The stated purpose is to assist in the 2010 census. Many people are asking what the GPS location of their home has to do with the government counting how many people live at their address. There has not been a good explanation from the Obama administration. Americans have good reason to be wary of the 2010 census after the Obama's recent decision to put White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in an oversight role. Normal use for GPS is to find a location very quickly or very accurately. The military uses GPS information in this way. Surely, Obama isn't planning on sending a cruise missile at our homes. People are asking what other reason the military or anyone else would have for needing to come to our houses with GPS speed and accuracy. One reason suggested is quick imposition of martial law or some other contrived emergency. This is a very troubling event for civil libertarians. WorldNetDaily reported:
According to an online Yahoo program, the Global Position System coordinates for the White House, probably one of the best-known publicly owned buildings in the world, are 38.898590 Latitude and -77.035971 Longitude. And since you know that, it's no big deal for the White House to know the coordinates for your front door, is it?

Some people think it is, and are upset over an army of some 140,000 workers hired in part with a $700 million taxpayer-funded contract to collect GPS readings for every front door in the nation.

The data collection, presented as preparation for the 2010 Census, is pinpointing with computer accuracy the locations and has raised considerable concern from privacy advocates who have questioned why the information is needed. The privacy advocates also are more than a little worried over what could be done with that information.

Enhancing the concerns is the Obama administration's recent decision to put White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in an oversight role over the census, which will be used to determine a reapportionment of congressional seats and could be used to solidify a single political party's control over the nation, its budget, military and future.
