Good News Chicago: Mayor Rahm Emanuel is going to give jobs to illegal immigrants...

Pandering...
In a recent proclamation, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced that he intends to give city jobs and internships to so-called “DREAMers,” youngsters in the country illegally.
In the announcement, Emanuel proudly stated that “for the first time” Chicago is “opening up nearly 23,000 City-funded internship, volunteer, and job opportunities for undocumented students, or ‘DREAMers.’”
“DREAMers and DACA recipients are assets that we need to nurture and develop like precious natural resources for the benefit of the entire community,” Congressman Luis V. GutiĆ©rrez (D-IL) says in the announcement. “They are an integral part of Chicago’s workforce of tomorrow. Once again, the City of Chicago and Mayor Rahm Emanuel are leading the way on the inclusion of our immigrant communities.”
The announcement goes on to lament the “barriers” that illegal alien teens find to gaining city jobs:

Congratulations Rahm Emanuel: Chicago has surpassed New York in murders...

Change...

Via WaPo:
The city of Chicago registered more homicides than any city in the nation in 2012, surpassing even New York — despite the fact that the Second City has only one third as many residents as the Big Apple.
In new crime statistics released Monday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation reported 500 murders in Chicago in 2012, up sharply from the 431 recorded in 2011. New York reported 419 murders last year, compared with 515 in 2011.
But residents of Chicago and New York were much less likely to be victims of a homicide than residents of Flint, Mich. Sixty-three murders occurred in 2012 in Flint, a city of 101,632, meaning one in every 1,613 city residents were homicide victims. Detroit, which experienced 386 homicides in 2012, was almost as unsafe; that’s enough murders to account for one in every 1,832 residents.

Rahm Emanuel was a poor black child or something...

Propaganda, it's the Chicago way...

Via Breitbart:
Rahm Emanuel is currently the mayor of one of the murder capitals of the world (Chicago) and his brother, Ari Emanuel, is one of the most powerful agents in the history of Hollywood. When not suntanned (see below), both are wealthy, both are powerful, and both grew up in Chicago, Illinois, in relative upper-middle class to upper-class comfort. With a doctor for a father, both boys were afforded opportunities to go to the best schools and enjoy summers in Israel.
Nothing wrong with any of that. Unless, of course, as a middle-aged adult with an eye on a more powerful office, you have your brother spin your biography into something a little more romantic than a childhood of relative privilege.
In the new edition of Vanity Fair we learn, courtesy of brother Ezekiel’s upcoming autobiography, that Rahm (who is Jewish) used to be a poor, black child who faced the terrors of racism.
No, really:
When Rahm was a baby, their mother left him momentarily in the care of two-year-old Ezekiel and a five-year-old cousin before leaving the room. When the boys were children, she sent them off alone to spend summer days on Chicago’s Foster Avenue Beach, which they reached through a tunnel beneath Lake Shore Drive.

It was Rahm Emanuel's Idea Obama Pumped Solyndra

Rahm Emanuel has claimed he had never heard of Solyndra.

Via Free Beacon:

Chicago mayor and former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel repeatedly claimed he had no memory of the Obama administration’s controversial $535 million loan to failed solar company Solyndra, but White House emails released Thursday say it was Emanuel’s idea for the administration to tout the doomed firm.

In a batch of White House emails released in a report on Solyndra by the House Energy and Commerce Committee Thursday, White House aide Aditya Kumar wrote to Jacob Levine of the Office of Energy and Climate Change: “Feels like Rahm wants this too (barring any concerns) — POTUS involvement was Rahm’s idea.”

However, speaking to Chicago radio station WLS 890AM at a news conference in September, 2011, Emanuel said he did not remember anything about the failed investment loan by the Department of Energy, which critics say was fast-tracked to fit the White House’s political agenda.

Rahm Emanuel chickens out on Chick-fil-A ban

No doubt Emanuel Emanuel will still be working hard behind the scenes to violate Chick-fil-A's rights...

Via NBC Chicago:
Emanuel press secretary Tarrah Cooper called Friday to clarify the mayor’s stance on whether a Logan Square Chick-fil-A location would be vetoed because of the company’s views on gay marriage.
“He never said he’d block the restaurant from coming,” Cooper said…
To clarify, Cooper said Emanuel still believes “their values are not Chicago values.” But that doesn’t mean he would block them.
“If they meet all the requirements, they’re welcome to open a restaurant here.”

Rahm is back on the ballot

I predicted this here. It did happen faster than I had expected though.
(Chicago Sun Times)- The Illinois Supreme Court has ordered the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners to put Rahm Emanuel’s name back on the mayoral ballot, attorneys for Emanuel said Tuesday.

The court has not decided whether to hear Emanuel’s appeal of Monday’s Illinois Appellate Court ruling that tossed him out of the race to replace Mayor Daley. The Supreme Court granted Emanuel’s motion for a stay of the ruling, Emanuel attorney Mike Kasper said Tuesday.

Is Rahm Qualified to Run for Chicago Mayor?

Rahm Emanuel's lack of residency may disqualify him according to election lawyers.

The Chicago Sun Times reported:
The first question isn’t: Can Rahm win? It’s: Can Rahm run?

Sunday, Rahm Emanuel announced in a video posted on a website that he is preparing to run for mayor of Chicago. But two of Chicago’s top election lawyers say the state’s municipal code is crystal clear that a candidate for mayor must reside in the town for a year before the election.

That doesn’t mean they must simply own a home in the city that they rent out to someone else. They must have a place they can walk into, keep a toothbrush, hang up their jacket and occasionally sleep, the lawyers say.

Rahm Emanuel Lived Free For 5 Years In Close BP Associate Apartment

Apartments in Washington aren't free. How do you get someone to let you live in one for five years for free? Freeloading Rahm Emanuel figured out hoe to do it. The apartment Was owned by Stanley Greenberg, a close associate of BP. Greenberg's firm was a prime architect of BP’s recent re-branding drive as a green petroleum company.

The LA Times reported:
In case you were tempted to buy the faux Washington outrage at BP and its gulf oil spill in recent days, here’s a story that reveals a little-known corporate political connection and the quiet way the inner political circles intersect, protect and care for one another in the nation’s capital. And Chicago.

We already knew that BP and its folks were significant contributors to the record $750-million war chest of Barack Obama’s 2007-08 campaign.

Now, we learn the details of a connection of Rahm Emanuel...

Ousted Demo Massa: 'Rahm is the devil's spawn' (video)

Former Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) resigned under pressure because he made inappropriate comments to a staffer. He claims he was forced out because he is a 'no vote' for Obamcare. Massa had some very uncomplimentary things to say about White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and arm-twisting.
“Rahm Emanuel is son of the devil’s spawn. He is an individual who would sell his mother to get a vote. He would strap his children to the front end of a steam locomotive.”

Eric Massa also accused Rahm Emanuel of berating him while they were 'nude'.
"Let me tell you a story about Rahm Emanuel," Massa started. "I was a congressman in my first eight weeks, and I was in the congressional gym, and I went down and I worked out and I went into the showers...I'm sitting there showering, naked as a jaybird and here comes Rahm Emanuel not even with a towel wrapped around his tush, poking his finger in my chest, yelling at me because I wasn't going to vote for the president's budget. Do you know how awkward it is to have a political argument with a naked man?”

Tune into Glenn Beck tomorrow see what else Massa has to say.

Rahm Emanuel: Manipulating the Mainstream Media

There is nothing like having your Chief of Staff do some arm-twisting at the top when you want some free prime time network air time.

From the Washington Post:
In the days before President Obama's last news conference, as the networks weighed whether to give up a chunk of their precious prime time, Rahm Emanuel went straight to the top.

Rather than calling ABC, the White House chief of staff phoned Bob Iger, chief executive of parent company Disney. Instead of contacting NBC, Emanuel went to Jeffrey Immelt, the chief executive of General Electric. He also spoke with Les Moonves, the chief executive of CBS, the company spun off from Viacom.

Whether this amounted to undue pressure or plain old Chicago arm-twisting, Emanuel got results: the fourth hour of lucrative network time for his boss in six months. But network executives have been privately complaining to White House officials that they cannot afford to keep airing these sessions in the current economic downturn.

The networks "absolutely" feel pressured, says Paul Friedman, CBS's senior vice president: "It's an enormous financial cost when the president replaces one of those prime-time h
ours. The news divisions also have mixed feelings about whether they are being used. (accent is mine)"

Why does Obama want the GPS coordinates to your house?

The Obama administration is currently involved in an effort to collect the GPS coordinates to every front door in America. The stated purpose is to assist in the 2010 census. Many people are asking what the GPS location of their home has to do with the government counting how many people live at their address. There has not been a good explanation from the Obama administration. Americans have good reason to be wary of the 2010 census after the Obama's recent decision to put White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in an oversight role. Normal use for GPS is to find a location very quickly or very accurately. The military uses GPS information in this way. Surely, Obama isn't planning on sending a cruise missile at our homes. People are asking what other reason the military or anyone else would have for needing to come to our houses with GPS speed and accuracy. One reason suggested is quick imposition of martial law or some other contrived emergency. This is a very troubling event for civil libertarians. WorldNetDaily reported:
According to an online Yahoo program, the Global Position System coordinates for the White House, probably one of the best-known publicly owned buildings in the world, are 38.898590 Latitude and -77.035971 Longitude. And since you know that, it's no big deal for the White House to know the coordinates for your front door, is it?

Some people think it is, and are upset over an army of some 140,000 workers hired in part with a $700 million taxpayer-funded contract to collect GPS readings for every front door in the nation.

The data collection, presented as preparation for the 2010 Census, is pinpointing with computer accuracy the locations and has raised considerable concern from privacy advocates who have questioned why the information is needed. The privacy advocates also are more than a little worried over what could be done with that information.

Enhancing the concerns is the Obama administration's recent decision to put White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in an oversight role over the census, which will be used to determine a reapportionment of congressional seats and could be used to solidify a single political party's control over the nation, its budget, military and future.

Rahm Emanuel sounds a little phsyco

Democrat Rahm Emanuel will be Obama's Chief of Staff. Most people know very little about him. We aren't likely to learn anything this week because Rahm Emanuel is hiding vacationing in Africa while the storm winds of the Blagojevich scandal blow. The Chief of Staff job takes a very tough personality type. Rahm Emanuel certainly fits that profile. However, the reports that he once stabbed a table with a knife while shouting the names of his political enemies is over the top. Anyone who would do that is a few bricks short of a load.

Rahm the Enforcer

12/28/08
In Washington, where big personalities create even bigger legends, Democrat Rahm Emanuel has achieved mythic status.

He throws cells phones. He once sent a dead fish to a pollster who displeased him. At a dinner to celebrate Bill Clinton’s 1992 election, Emanuel repeatedly stabbed the table with a steak knife, shouting the names of his political enemies. Journalists have trouble quoting him, because his routine utterances are replete with profanity.

“Rahm is a little intense,” Barack Obama once said.

As even Emanuel concedes, “I wake up some mornings hating me, too.”

Emanuel’s political intensity has a darker side. His numerous contacts with disgraced Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s office to push various candidates for Obama’s open Senate seat put him inside the lines of an unseemly political scandal.

The Obama transition team last week cleared itself of wrongdoing in the matter, but it’s unlikely that its report is the last word on the federal government’s wide-ranging public corruption investigation. Full story here.
