Real 'Flat Earthers' believe in man-made global warming

Republicans have been ridiculed as Flat Earthers because of their skepticism of anthropogenic (man-made) global warming. They have been compared to Flat Earth believers.  President Obama joined in March 15th.

The truth is there really is a Flat Earth Society in existence even today. The current Flat Earth Society President, Daniel Shenton, is a strong believer in global warming. Take that liberals.

Daniel Shenton should be the most irrational man in the world. As the new president of the Flat Earth Society, you'd ­imagine he would also think that evolution is a scam and ­global warming a myth. He should ­argue that smoking does not cause ­cancer and HIV does not lead to Aids.[...]

In fact, Shenton turns out to have resolutely mainstream views on most issues. The 33-year-old American, ­originally from Virginia but now living and working in London, is happy with the work of Charles Darwin. He thinks the evidence for man-made global warming is strong, and he dismisses suggestions that his own government was involved with the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Scary: Professor Kari Norgaard: Climate skepticism is a sickness that needs to be "treated"

Skepticism regarding the need for immediate and massive action against carbon emissions is a sickness of societies and individuals which needs to be "treated", according to an Oregon-based professor of "sociology and environmental studies". Professor Kari Norgaard compares the struggle against climate scepticism to that against racism and slavery in the US South.

Prof Norgaard holds a B.S. in biology and a master's and PhD in sociology.

"Over the past ten years I have published and taught in the areas of environmental sociology, gender and environment, race and environment, climate change, sociology of culture, social movements and sociology of emotions," she says.

How to talk to a "Warmist"

Conservatives and anthropogenic global warming skeptics are often accused by "Warmists", liberals and the mainstream media of being anti science. This isn't true. Here is my response:

We are in an interglacial period. Conservatives and climate change skeptics don't deny this fact. The question we need to ask is, "Is there a major impact on this warming due to man's activity?" Anyone who tells you the science is settled on this issue (or any other scientific theory) isn't a real scientist. Even the absoluteness of the speed of light is under question now. Real scientists are open with their research and welcome criticism from skeptics. They use this feedback to refine and test their theories. As for Climate scientists, they hide their raw data and computer models, fight freedom of information requests, attempt to subvert the peer review process, attack their opponents motives and declare the science is settled while shilling for more money. The crux of their theory is a hockey stick graph, made by Dr. Mann, that spliced an instrumental temperature record, that fails to account adequately for urban heat zones, onto a tree ring temperature graph that was "smoothed" to hide the well known Medieval Warm Period. The reason Mann had to do this splicing was tree ring data from recent years failed to show the rise he needed. After the computer code Mann used was released with the "Climategate" files, it was discovered the software used by Mann could generate a hockey stick graph with random data. Meanwhile, climate change public leaders declare we are in a global crisis while they live in mansions with larger carbon footprints than many Africa villages and fly around on private jets; raking in millions in speaking fees. Is there any wonder many suspect this is fraudulent? Conservatives haven't abandoned science. Science has abandoned them.

Demo Barbara Boxer is going to hold hearings to challenge global warming skeptics

I would say "bring it on", but will she rally invite any of the big name skeptics? I would love to see Boxer go up against Roy Spencer or Lord Monckton. This will probably tun into an Al Gore love-fest.

(The Hill)- Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Committee Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) is issuing a challenge to skeptics of climate change science: Bring it on.

Boxer said Wednesday that she’s expecting hearings on the issue.

She said Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), who is expected to head the panel’s oversight subcommittee, “is working on getting us going with some hearings.”

“We are going to absolutely look at the science of carbon pollution and its impact on our people, on our planet,” Boxer said at a committee hearing on drinking water safety. “We are absolutely going to keep up with the science.”

What? Lefty Environmentalist Doubts Global Warming? (video)

This video is surprising, but global warming skeptics need all the support they can get. If left-wing environmentalists want to help prevent spending trillions of dollars on a farce, more power to them. Perhaps we can take some of the money saved and address some real environmental problems. One thing is for sure, when the left starts doubting Al Gore, the scam is over.
