President Obama goes after 'whitey'

President Obama is trying to shore up his black and Hispanic base. His numbers among blacks have been declining recently. His support among Hispanics has dropped below 50%. What better way is there to do it than crank up affirmative action? President Obama has directed officials to come up with affirmative action plans to further diversify the federal workforce. The federal government already has an affirmative action program. Many years ago when former President Ronald Reagan fired the air traffic controllers, I went and took the federal air traffic control test on a lark. At the testing location, we were told applicants who were minorities, female, veterans or veterans with purple hearts got significant score bonuses on federal tests. I managed to barely pass the test, but I never had an interview or job offer. You would think the government would want the most qualified people, not the most diverse, for critical jobs like air traffic control. That isn't true. Blacks currently are 12.6% of the population, but make up 17.7% of the federal workforce. Only 66.2% of the federal workforce is white. There is no justification for measures to further diversify the federal workforce; except to reward minorities for voting for Obama and punish white Americans who didn't.
WASHINGTON (AP)President Barack Obama signed an executive order Thursday directing federal officials to design a government-wide strategy for making the federal workforce more diverse.

The three-page order directs the head of the Office of Personnel Management, a deputy director at the Office of Management and Budget, the President’s Management Council and the chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to develop the strategy within 90 days. Agencies then have 120 days to work the plan into their hiring and recruiting.

An Office of Personnel Management report says that in fiscal year 2010, the federal workforce was 66.2 percent white, 17.7 percent black, 8 percent Hispanic, 5.6 percent Asian/Pacific Islander and 1.8 percent Native American. It was 56.1 percent male.
