[L]atest to join the all-women lineup of Ann bashers: Betsey Stevenson. A former top economist in the Obama administration, appearing on Chris Hayes’s MSNBC this morning, Stevenson accused Ann, along with Mitt, of “really having no empathy for people.”
"You know, yes, motherhood is beautiful," Goldberg continued. "I found that phrase 'the crown of motherhood' really kind of creepy, not just because of its, like, somewhat you know, I mean, it’s kind of usually really authoritarian societies that give out like The Cross of Motherhood, that give awards for big families. You know, Stalin did it, Hitler did it."
BASHIR: Mr. Romney’s spokesperson has just said that he believes everyone needs to be civil. But no sign yet of him rejecting Nugent’s endorsement.
You have to hand it to Mitt and Ann Romney. Even their righteous indignation is as fake and as two-faced as everything else that marks their presidential campaign.
TERRY O’NEILL: What would we be saying if Hillary Clinton [sic] had said this: that Ann Romney has never, has not worked for pay outside the home a day in her life? That’s my understanding that’s an accurate statement, and that raises the exact issue that Hilary Rosen was trying to get to, which is do Mr. & Mrs. Romney have the kind of life experience and if not, the imagination, to really understand what most American families are going through right now? I think that that was what Hilary was getting out, and so she left out the words “for pay outside the home.”
After top Democratic strategist and frequent White house visitor Hilary Rosen claimed that Mitt Romney’s wife Ann had ‘never really worked a day in her life,’ the good ship 'Pander for the Women's vote' began taking on water. Ann Romney is a stay-at-home mother who raised 5 children. Most people, especially women, realize that is no easy task. Team Obama is now in full retreat. Michelle has been tweeting support for mothers. Now, President Obama has thrown Hilary Rosen completely under the campaign bus.
