BOSTON (WHDH) — Accused Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev called his mother from prison Monday, according to reports.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is recovering from a gunshot wound to the neck, but is apparently able to speak again. He spoke to his mother for the first time since his arrest. The conversation between Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, lasted six minutes. Tsarnaeva was promised one phone call per month as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev continues to recover.

“I am absolutely fine, my wounds are healing. Everything is in God’s hands. Be patient. Everything will be fine,” Dzhokhar Tsarnaev reportedly told his mother, according to Bloomberg News. [...]

“Mentally he is normal, but the child is shocked,” Tsarnaeva told Bloomberg News. “It was really hard to hear him and for him to hear me. The conversation was very quiet. It was my child. I know he is locked up like a dog, like an animal.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — Russian authorities secretly recorded a telephone conversation in 2011 in which one of the Boston bombing suspects vaguely discussed jihad with his mother, officials said Saturday, days after the U.S. government finally received details about the call.

In another conversation, the mother of now-dead bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was recorded talking to someone in southern Russia who is under FBI investigation in an unrelated case, officials said.

The conversations are significant because, had they been revealed earlier, they might have been enough evidence for the FBI to initiate a more thorough investigation of the Tsarnaev family.

As it was, Russian authorities told the FBI only that they had concerns that Tamerlan and his mother were religious extremists. With no additional information, the FBI conducted a limited inquiry and closed the case in June 2011.

Two years later, authorities say Tamerlan and his brother, Dzhohkar, detonated two homemade bombs near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three and injuring more than 260. Tamerlan was killed in a police shootout and Dzhohkar is under arrest.
In the past week, Russian authorities turned over to the United States information it had on Tamerlan and his mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva. The Tsarnaevs are ethnic Chechens who emigrated from southern Russia to the Boston area over the past 11 years.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Two government officials tell The Associated Press that U.S. intelligence agencies added the Boston bombing suspects’ mother to a federal terrorism database about 18 months before the attack.

Officials say this was done after Russia contacted the CIA late in 2011 with concerns that the now-dead suspect, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, and his mother, Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, were religious militants about to travel to Russia. The CIA asked that Tsarnaev and Tsarnaeva be added to a classified intelligence database called TIDE. Being on the database does not automatically mean the U.S. suspects a person of terrorist activity and does not automatically subject a person to surveillance, security screening or travel restrictions.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the investigation.

First lady Michelle Obama claimed at a fundraiser that her mother still lives in a little bitty apartment on the South Side of Chicago over my aunt’s house. That is not true. She is living in the White House. How does being President give you the right to let your mother-in-law mooch off the taxpayers and live in the White House?

First lady Michelle Obama has figuratively evicted her 74-year-old mother from the White House in an apparent effort to boost her appeal to middle-class voters.

The eviction notice came April 30 when the first lady told fellow Democrats at a fundraiser that she shared their values. “My family, we lived in a little bitty apartment on the South Side of Chicago over my aunt’s house [and] my mom still lives in that house to this day.”

However, the first lady’s mother, Marian Robinson, has lived in the White House since March 2009, when Essence Magazine announced her move from Chicago to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

“She will stay as long as her son-in-law and daughter want her to stay there,” Angela Burt-Murray, the editor of Essence Magazine, said in an April 2009 “Today” show interview.

Obama may be a big fat liar, but he is a big fat liar who got Obamacare passed. Author Janny Scott in her book A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mother refutes President Obama's claims about his dying mother's health insurance.

(NY Times) — The White House on Wednesday declined to challenge an account in a new book that suggests that President Obama, in his campaign to overhaul American health care, mischaracterized a central anecdote about his mother’s deathbed dispute with her insurance company.

During his presidential campaign and subsequent battle over a health care law, Mr. Obama quieted crowds with the story of his mother’s fight with her insurer over whether her cancer was a pre-existing condition that disqualified her from coverage.

In offering the story as an argument for ending pre-existing condition exclusions by health insurers, the president left the clear impression that his mother’s fight was over health benefits for medical expenses.

But in “A Singular Woman: The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mother,” author Janny Scott quotes from correspondence from the president’s mother to assert that the 1995 dispute concerned a Cigna disability insurance policy and that her actual health insurer had apparently reimbursed most of her medical expenses without argument.

Ms. Scott took a leave from her job as a reporter for The New York Times to write the book and has not returned to the staff.

Author Claims Obama Signed Obamacare Against Advice of Senior Advisers for Personal Reasons

According to this report, President Obama was strongly advised against signing Obamacare. Some senior advisers thought it was insane. Reportedly, President Obama threw our entire health care system under the bus for personal reasons. He thought his dying mother got a raw deal from insurance companies.
