“Red Dawn” producer Tripp Vinson: "No one would distribute the film if the enemy was China"

Do you need anymore proof the Chinese own us?
What makes this attack particularly surprising is that the nation behind it is North Korea, whose geographical location and general starvation-related discombobulation put it very far down on the ladder of potential threats to the American homeland. And what makes this surprise particularly awkward is that the nation staging the assault on the Starbucks-spangled landscape of the Pacific Northwest wasn’t supposed to be North Korea at all — in the remake’s original script, the invading forces were Chinese.

According to “Red Dawn” producer Tripp Vinson, the reasons for the switch were practical. “We had to make the change because the studio that originally financed the movie, MGM, went into bankruptcy, and came out of it without a distribution arm,” he says. “And to make a long story short, no one would distribute the film if the enemy was China. This was the reality we encountered. So we made changes to the opening sequence, did some slight editing and visual effects work, and changed the invading army from Chinese to North Koreans.”

Don't anyone tell the food Nazi

President Obama made an unscheduled campaign stop for Chinese takeout...
SAN FRANCISCO — President Obama made an unscheduled stop for Chinese takeout between campaign fundraisers today, causing something of a commotion in Chinatown here.
With some time to spare between events, his motorcade wound its way to Great Eastern restaurant, where surprised diners jumped up from their tables and shrieked “Obama! Obama!” according to a pool report.
The president spent a few minutes working the room, greeting people and taking pictures. “How are you? Good to see you!” he said repeatedly, the pool report said.
He also spent time shaking hands outside, before leaving with two large bags of food. An aide said Obama got some dim sum.

Obama administration plans to let Chinese steal more of our nuclear secrets?

The last nuclear scientist exchange we did with the Chinese ended in an espionage disaster. For some unknown reason, the Obama administration wants to give it another try.
(Washington Times) — Deputy Energy Secretary Daniel B. Poneman is working on a major Obama administration initiative that would renew scientist exchanges between U.S. nuclear weapons laboratories and Chinese nuclear facilities.

The idea is aimed at promoting openness and transparency by China’s military about its secret, large-scale buildup of nuclear weapons, according to U.S. officials.

Critics say the plan is similar to an exchange program in the 1990s that sent U.S. nuclear scientists to China and produced one of the worst cases of nuclear espionage. Secrets about every deployed warhead in the U.S. arsenal were compromised, including the W-88 small nuclear warhead deployed on submarine-launched missiles.

“We’ve seen this movie before, and it has a bad ending,” one official said. Keep on reading...

Dangerous: New Chinese J-20 Stealth Fighter May Be “Leaps and Bounds Above Where We Are”

We have to hope this information is wrong and the new Chinese stealth fighter is over-hyped.
(Fox News)- While the Pentagon downplays China’s rollout this week of what appears to be a jet fighter designed using sophisticated stealth technology, military experts are warning that the aircraft – reportedly capable of besting America’s F-22 in speed and maneuverability – could pose the greatest threat yet to U.S. air superiority.

Decorated Navy fighter pilot Matthew “Whiz” Buckley, a Top Gun graduate of the Navy Fighter Weapons School who flew 44 combat missions over Iraq, says, “It’s probably leaps and bounds above where we are, and that’s terrifying.”

“As a former Navy fighter pilot, going up against something that’s stealthy, highly maneuverable and with electronic systems more capable than mine — that’ll keep me up at night,”...
