Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas renounces Oslo Accords...

Since the Oslo Accords created the Palestinian Authority, which Abbas claims to head, and gave the Palestinians limited self-government over parts of the West Bank and Gaza, Israel should dissolve the Palestinian government and take over complete control of the West Bank and Gaza.

Via NY Times:
Demonstrating a new level of tension with Israel, President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority declared Wednesday that it was no longer bound by the Oslo Accords that formed the basis for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
In his annual General Assembly speech, Mr. Abbas accused Israel of having violated the accords and subsequent agreements. He asserted that there was no reason the Palestinians should remain faithful to them as long as the Israelis were not.

Obama bypasses Congress and gives more direct funding to the Palestinian Authority

It's good to be king...

Via Washington Times:
President Obama on Friday afternoon ordered another waiver of congressional restrictions on direct funding of the Palestinian Authority, clearing the way for more U.S. aid.
In the one-page order, Mr. Obama said he was taking the action due to the “national security interests” of the U.S. The move comes as the administration is preparing to host renewed direct talks in Washington between Palestinians and Israelis for the first time since 2010.
The president in March directed about $500 million to be sent to the Palestinian Authority, also waiving the restrictions set by Congress. At the time, Secretary of State John F. Kerry said he was seeking to move another $200 million to the Palestinians.

John Kerry wants to spend $4 billion to stimulate the economy...of Palestinians...

Lurch is playing fast and loose with our money...

Via Guardian:
John Kerry revealed his long-awaited plan for peace in the Middle East on Sunday, hinging on a $4bn (£2.6bn) investment in the Palestinian private sector.
The US secretary of state, speaking at the World Economic Forum on the Jordanian shores of the Dead Sea, told an audience including Israeli president Shimon Peres and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas that an independent Palestinian economy is essential to achieving a sustainable peace.
Speaking under the conference banner “Breaking the Impasse”, Kerry announced a plan that he promised would be “bigger, bolder and more ambitious” than anything since the Oslo accords, more than 20 years ago.
The Palestinian Authority isn't interested unless it comes with Israel's head on a pole...

Via Times of Israel:
The Palestinian Authority on Monday rejected the idea of economic benefits in exchange for political concessions put forward by US Secretary of State John Kerry one day prior.
“The Palestinian leadership will not offer political concessions in exchange for economic benefits,” PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s economic adviser, Mohammad Mustafa, said in a statement, according to the Palestinian Ma’an news agency. “We will not accept that the economy is the primary and sole component.”
The statement came a day after US Secretary of State John Kerry announced a $4 billion investment plan meant to jumpstart both the Palestinian economy and peace talks with Israel.

$500 million in aid for Palestinian Authority. WH tours for kids still closed...

Priorities...

Via Ynet:
The United States has quietly unblocked almost $500 million in aid to the Palestinian Authority which had been frozen by Congress for months, a top US official said Friday.
The news that the funds had finally been freed up came after US President Barack Obama met top Israeli and Palestinian leaders in a landmark visit to Israel and the West Bank earlier this week.
“To date, we have moved $295.7 million in fiscal year 2012 money… and $200 million in fiscal year 2013 assistance,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters.
The Obama administration also notified Congress in late February that it was seeking a further $200 million to fund US Agency for International Development (USAID) programs for the Palestinians, she said. [...]
Congress froze the US administration’s requests for funds.

(JPost)- Hamas and Fatah have vowed to foil any attempt to teach the Holocaust in UNRWA-run schools in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The two parties said that teaching the Holocaust was a “provocative act.”

Hamas said it was also opposed to the move because it would pave the way for normalization with Israel. “This is an attempt to impose on us the culture of normalization with the occupation,” said a statement issued by the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Culture in the Gaza Strip. “They want us to accept the tales and lies to win sympathy.”...

Salah al-Wadiyeh, a Fatah representative in the West Bank, said that the Holocuast was a “big lie.”

Obama Fiddles While Taxpayers Burn

Team Obama promised another $150 million of your tax dollars to the Palestinian Authority today. In June of this year, Obama gave the Palestinians $900 million.

(Reuters) - The United States will give an additional $150 million to the Palestinian Authority as Washington seeks to boost the fledgling government amid an impasse in peace talks with Israel, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, on the home front, President Obama's debt commission is proposing to raise your retirement age and cut your social security to save money. They are also proposing to eliminate the tax deductions for employer provided health insurance coverage, charitable contributions, mortgage interest deductions and employer contributions to employee 401(k)/pension plans. I would call this the 'work till death' plan.

How to flush $7.4 billion down the toilet (video)

World Governments have pledged at least $7.4 billion to the Palestinian Authority in the last three and a half years. This includes $900 million from U.S. taxpayers last year and $400 million taxpayer dollars pledged in June of this year. This shocking video shows how much of that money has been wasted on corruption and stupidity.

Obama signals Palestinian Authority to ignore Netanyahu

WND reported that the Palestinian Authority has been signaled to ignore Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent major address. According to the report: "We received encouraging signs from the Americans that we should not take seriously into consideration Netanyahu's speech," Hamad said.
– The Palestinian Authority has received signs from the U.S. that it should not take seriously Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent major address, according to a top PA official speaking to WND.

Nimer Hamad, senior political adviser to PA President Mahmoud Abbas, also said the PA is not concerned about Netanyahu's policies since Abbas relies on American support for key Palestinian demands.

During Netanyahu's speech Sunday, the Israeli leader called for a demilitarized Palestinian state and said Jerusalem would always be united under Jewish sovereignty.

Hamad countered: "No matter what is the position of the Israeli government and no matter what are the statements of Netanyahu, what counts is what was promised to us by Obama, which is totally the opposite [of Netanyahu's positions]."
