Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein not buying Obama's ISIS has been “contained” BS...

A bridge too far...

Via Daily Caller:
Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein disagreed with President Barack Obama’s comments last week that ISIS has been “contained.”
Appearing on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on Monday, Feinstein called for France to invoke Chapter Five of the NATO charter, saying, “we certainly need more than 50 special ops” on the ground in Syria to defeat ISIS.
Feinstein said, “I have never been more concerned. I read the intelligence faithfully. ISIL is not contained. ISIL is expanding. They just put out a video saying it is their intent to attack this country. And I think we have to be prepared. I think hopefully France will go for a Chapter 5 which will bring NATO into it. Hopefully we will work with our allies to put together the kind of coalitions and attack plans in more than one place at a given time.”

Dianne Feinstein stops defending NSA spying long enough to support you keeping your health plan

Just a few short days ago, Sen. Dianne Feinstein said you could keep you healthcare plan up until the bill was passed. (See video) She seemed confused, but OK, on that point. I guess she should have read the bill before she passed it or at least read it in the three years since it has been passed. I guess attempting to ban guns, butt kissing Obama's NSA and dodging debates with her political opponents has kept Feinstein too busy.

Via Politico:
It’s not just red-state Democrats who want to take aggressive steps to mend controversial provisions in Obamacare.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said Tuesday that she will co-sponsor a bill by Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) to require insurance companies to continue offering their existing health care plans — a way to make good on President Barack Obama’s promise that consumers can keep their current coverage if they like it.
“This bill provides a simple fix to a complex problem,” Feinstein said in a statement Tuesday, calling Landrieu’s proposal a “commonsense fix” and urged Congress to pass it “quickly.”
Actually, I doubt Landrieu's bill as stated above would even be constitutional. How can the federal government "require" anyone to sell something they don't want to sell? I could be wrong though. I still think it's unconstitutional to make someone buy a private product or pay a penalty tax. (May John Roberts burn in Hell someday)

Great News: Assault weapons ban falls short in Senate...

Sen. Dianne Feinstein hardest hit...
(TPM) — The Senate on Wednesday defeated an amendment, introduced by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), that would have reinstated a federal assault weapons ban. The bill failed by a 40 to 60 vote, falling short of the 60-vote threshold to overcome a filibuster.

Sen. Ted Cruz asks Dianne Feinstein a Constitutional question. Feinstein gets her panties in a wad...

You may notice, Feinstein never answered the question.  Sen. Cruz kept after her and forced to say no. Feinstein claimed amendments should be treated differently. Really?

Via Weekly Standard:
“The question that I would pose to the senior senator from California is,” said Cruz to Feinstein, “Would she deem it consistent with the Bill of Rights for Congress to engage in the same endeavor that we are contemplating doing with the Second Amendment in the context of the First or Fourth Amendment, namely, would she consider it constitutional for Congress to specify that the First Amendment shall apply only to the following books and shall not apply to the books that Congress has deemed outside the protection of the Bill of Rights? Likewise, would she think that the Fourth Amendment’s protection against searches and seizures could properly apply only to the following specified individuals and not to the individuals that Congress has deemed outside the protection of the Bill of Rights?
“I’m not a sixth grader,” said Feinstein. “Senator, I’ve been on this committee for 20 years. I was a mayor for nine years. I walked in, I saw people shot. I’ve looked at bodies that have been shot with these weapons. I’ve seen the bullets that implode. In Sandy Hook, youngsters were dismembered. Look, there are other weapons. I’ve been up — I’m not a lawyer, but after 20 years I’ve been up close and personal to the Constitution. I have great respect for it. This doesn’t mean that weapons of war and the Heller decision clearly points out three exceptions, two of which are pertinent here. And so I — you know, it’s fine you want to lecture me on the Constitution. I appreciate it. Just know I’ve been here for a long time. I’ve passed on a number of bills. I’ve studied the Constitution myself. I am reasonably well educated, and I thank you for the lecture.”

Feinsten's so-called assault weapon ban excludes government officials...

Who would you trust more with a modern firearm? Some government official or your friends, family and neighbors?

Via Washington Times:
Her bill seeks to reinstate and expand the ban on assault weapons that was first enacted in 1994, but which lapsed in 2004.

It would prohibit semiautomatic pistols that can accept a detachable magazine and have at least one military feature, such as a pistol grip or telescoping. Purchasing the AR-15 Bushmaster rifle, which was used by the shooter in Newtown, would be illegal under the ban.

Mrs. Feinstein's measure would exempt more than 2,200 types of hunting and sporting rifles; guns manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or slide action; and weapons used by government officials, law enforcement and retired law enforcement personnel.

It would also ban ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

Clueless Sen. Feinstein vows to take "Weapons of war" off the streets...

She does realize these are semiautomatics, doesn't she?

Scary: Feinstein gun control bill requires grandfathered weapons owners to be registered and fingerprinted...

There is no way this bill is ever going to pass Congress...
  • Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
    • Background check of owner and any transferee;
    • Type and serial number of the firearm;
    • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
    • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
    • Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration.

Good News: Demo Sen. Dianne Feinstein has commissioned a federal report on moving terrorists to your town...

Is Senator Feinstein the only person in America who thinks this is a good idea?

Via Fox News:
The Democratic chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence committee has commissioned a federal report to identify prison facilities in the U.S. that are suitable for housing Guantanamo detainees, a document exclusively reviewed by Fox News shows.
In the internal document, the Government Accountability Office refers to “Source of Work: Ms. Dianne Feinstein, Chair, Select Committee on Intelligence, U.S. Senate” and lists the “Gist of Work” as an investigation into whether domestic facilities could house the approximately 170 detainees remaining at the controversial facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Two hours after Fox News’ inquiry about the report, Feinstein’s office posted the report online and released a statement confirming that the California senator thinks the Obama administration’s controversial plan to relocate detainees to the United States is a viable option.
“This report demonstrates that if the political will exists, we could finally close Guantanamo without imperiling our national security,” Feinstein said. “The GAO report makes clear that numerous prisons exist inside the United States — operated by both the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice—capable of holding the 166 detainees who remain at Guantanamo in an environment that meets the security requirements.”

Sen. Dianne Feinstein begins the slow walk back on comments WH was responsible for military leaks

Sen. Dianne Feinstein is in danger of getting the Cory Booker treatment. Booker has been ostracized by the Obama administration for telling the truth.

Via Politico:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein said Tuesday that she shouldn’t have speculated about leaks coming from the White House, walking back hear earlier comments that the White House was partly responsible for the leak of national security information.

The California Democrat, who chairs of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said she regretted speculating about the White House’s role in leaks relating to national security.

“I was asked [at the World Affairs Council on Monday] whether the White House might be responsible for recent national security leaks. I stated that I did not believe the president leaked classified information. I shouldn’t have speculated beyond that, because the fact of the matter is I don’t know the source of the leaks,” Feinstein said in her statement.

She had said at the WAC forum that she “think[s] the White House has to understand that some of this is coming from their ranks,” although she was careful to add that she didn’t think the president was behind the leaks.

Clueless: Demo Sen. Feinstien says if someone in Aurora theater had been armed a firefight could have broken out...

GOP Sen. Johnson suggested an responsible armed citizen in the Aurora theater might have prevented some deaths. Here is Sen. Feinstein's reply:
"And maybe you could have had a firefight and killed many more people."
Feinstein is afraid a firefight would occur in a theater where a massacre was taking place? Geez...

The exchange takes place at the 06:30 mark.

Liberal Heartache: Sen. Dianne Feinstein Upset at Obama For His Faux “Compromise” On Birth Control Mandate

President Obama's alleged birth control mandate compromise is mostly a matter os semantics. There is no change in outcomes. It isn't a real compromise in any sense of the word. Obama has offered Catholics, who are important to his re-election, a very small fig leaf to try and hide behind.

SAN DIEGO – U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein expressed disappointment Saturday in the compromise the Obama administration announced this week on its birth control coverage mandate but said the decision “can be lived with.”
“I regret the fact that the president felt he had to do it, but he had to do it,” she told reporters after speaking at the California Democratic Party convention in San Diego.
The Obama administration announced Friday that it would not force certain religious institutions such as Catholic hospitals to comply with a health regulation requiring employers to provide employees with access to free contraceptives. While the faith-based employers will be able to opt out of the rule, insurance companies will be required to provide such coverage at no cost to the employer.
Feinstein’s comment contrasted with remarks made by House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, who defended the administration’s move. Pelosi told reporters that the move demonstrated Obama’s unifying leadership abilities and an ongoing commitment to women’s health.
