When cigarettes really kill: An unarmed man was shot in his own driveway while rummaging through his mother's car looking for a smoke...

Early Saturday morning, Roy Middleton was rummaging through his mother's car in the driveway of his Warrington, Florida, home, looking for a cigarette, when he heard someone bark, "Get your hands where I can see them!" Middleton initially thought it was a neighbor playing a joke on him, but when he turned his head he saw Escambia County sheriff's deputies standing in his driveway. The next thing he knew, he says, they were shooting at him. "It was like a firing squad," Middleton told the Pensacola News Journal. "Bullets were flying everywhere." Middleton was lucky the deputies were terrible shots. His injuries were limited to a leg wound. "My mother's car is full of bullet holes though," he said. "My wife had to go and get a rental." 

The deputies came to Middleton's house around 2:42 a.m. after a neighbor saw him reaching into the car and called 911. What happened after that, from the cops' perspective, is unclear.

Barack Obama does not know what year it is

I knew Barack Obama was out of touch, but he doesn't know what year it is? Isn't that one of the questions they ask people to determine if they are rational? Obama signed Westminster Abbey's distinguished visitors log with a 2008 date.

But the president seemed to have made a gaffe during the occasion - signing Westminster Abbey's distinguished visitors' book with the wrong year.

Mr Obama dated his entry in the book May 24 2008, rather than the current year.

Apparently Mr Obama was heard to ask the dean what the day's date was - but managed to get the year wrong.

A Westminster Abbey spokeswoman confirmed it was the president who had written the wrong date.

Robert Gibbs Acknowledges the Professional Left Has Lost Touch With Reality

Of course, Gibbs didn't criticize the left for attacking Republicans. He is concerned they are attacking President Obama.

The press secretary dismissed the “professional left” in terms very similar to those used by their opponents on the ideological right, saying, “They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality.”

Reverend Wright is Back and He is as Crazy as Ever!

President Obama's favorite reverend is back and he is still crazy.

The NY Post reported:

He's been keeping such a low profile since nearly derailing Barack Obama's campaign for president in 2008 -- is it possible that the controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright has mellowed?

Hardly.

During a five-day seminar Wright taught last week at the University of Chicago, he was back at it, claiming that whites and Jews are controlling the flow of worldwide information and oppressing blacks in Israel and America.

"White folk done took this country," Wright said. "You're in their home, and they're gonna let you know it."

Muslim Goes Crazy At Army Base

A Muslim soldier agitated by Iraq and Afghanistan opened fire st Fort Hood killing 12 people. He also, reportedly, wounded 31 other people. Nader Hasan was a psychiatrist recently reassigned from Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

An Muslim Army soldier opened fire at Fort Hood in Texas, killing 11 soldiers and wounding 31, before he was killed by a base police officer.

The Army identified the gunman as Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan.
