Joe Biden: Rich white and black people need their money emancipated or something....

Vice President Joe Biden used a Black History Month event at his official residence Monday night to decry the rich, both white and black, for stunting economic growth and suggested that “emancipation” is in order.
“A lot of wealthy white and black people aren’t bad but they control 1 percent of the economy and this cannot stand,” Biden told about 100 guests, including past civil rights activists and NBC weatherman Al Roker.
“It’s not fair because the business experts are saying that concentration of wealth is stunting growth. So let’s do something that’s worthy of emancipation,” said Biden, according to a press pool report of the event.
Then, explaining the impact of Civil War era emancipation, Biden concluded, “What happened is not only did we move toward freeing black Americans but also the conscience of white Americans.”

Vice President Joe Biden made another gaffe on Thursday, telling Harvard students that China is a part of North America.
Speaking at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, Biden made yet another blunder after saying that “North America is literally–not figuratively–the epicenter of energy in the world today.”
“North America will account–meaning Mexico, China and Canada–for two-thirds of the growth of global energy supply over the next 20 years,” Biden said. “By 2018, the United States will be a net exporter of natural gas, and most projections show North America will be totally energy independent by 2020, and the United States shortly thereafter.”
Biden continued by saying “there are more rigs, gas and oil rigs in the United States pumping today than every other nation in the world combined.”

In the web edition of the story, however, Michelle Obama appears to be quoted in full [deleted parts in bold]:

And she was caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need,” she said. “I just don’t want to keep disappointing our kids in this country. President Obama has called and apologized to the family of Sgt. 1st Class Jared C. Monti. Obama claimed Sgt. 1st Class Jared C. Monti was alive, but President Obama awarded him the Medal of Honor posthumously.This was a horrible gaffe by President Obama. He really needs his teleprompter. We should commend Obama for personally calling the family and apologizing. It was the right thing to do.

(ABC News) — President Obama today apologized to the family of a Medal of Honor recipient whom he erroneously said was still alive.

On Thursday at Fort Drum, the president told troops from the 10th Mountain Division that he previously “had the great honor of seeing some of you because a comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.”

Wrong. Sgt. 1st Class Jared Monti was actually killed in Afghanistan on June 21, 2006. In September 2009, President Obama awarded him the Medal of Honor posthumously.

On his Facebook page this evening, Monti’s father, Paul, posted: “FYI — President Barack Obama telephoned me personally this afternoon to apologize for his error in his speech to the 10th mountain division re: Jared’s medal ceremony. Apology accepted.”

National Intelligence Director Clapper opens mouth and inserts foot again

Doesn't Director of National Intelligence James Clapper know only one buffoon is allowed per administration and VP Joe Biden already has dibs on that position? Clapper's most recent gaffe is publicly declaring the Qaddafi regime will prevail!

(F0X News)- Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in an exclusive interview with Fox News correspondent Carl Cameron, called for Gen. James Clapper to resign or be fired as Director of National Intelligence, citing his comments before the Senate Armed Services Committee this morning, on which Graham sits.

Clapper had stated his belief that the Qaddafi regime, in the long term would “prevail,” and also assessed China and Russia to be primary threats to the United States.

Graham told Cameron that he lacks confidence in Clapper’s understanding of his job, that President Obama should “repudiate” Clapper’s remarks, and that this is the third time Clapper has faltered in this way.

“Three strikes and you’re out,” Graham said.

Biden also claimed, "We’re going to win the House and we’re going to win the Senate. We’re not going to lose either one of those bodies.” Of course Biden also admitted Hillary Clinton was more qualified to be Vice President than he was. He may have gotten that one right.

Robert Gibbs gaffes and uses forbidden "War on Terror" term (video)

At today's White House press conference, Spokesman Robert Gibbs slipped up and used the forbidden term "war on terror." The White House declared the "war on terror" was over on August 6, 2009.

MR. GIBBS: Well, and not all those additional troops are there. The assessment that is coming back is part of what a new commander does when they go to a region when they're newly assigned, as the President has General McChrystal to this region.

But understand, Chip, we are not -- the President, whether it's the economy, health care, or anything, isn't going to -- we're not going to make -- we're not going to see the entire thing turn around in a few months, after years and years of neglect. You can't under-resource the most important part of our war on terror, you can't under-resource that for five or six or seven years -- whether it's under-resourced with troops, whether it's under-resourced with civilian manpower, whether it's under-resourced with economic development funding -- and hope to snap your fingers and have that turn around in just a few months.
