Payback: Congressional Black Caucus member rolls out demands for blacks helping Cochran win...

Dem Rep. Bennie Thompson

Will Cochran change his party designation to democrat like Arlen Spector did?
Via NRO:
Senator Thad Cochran (R., Miss.) needs to reward the black voters who crossed party lines to support him in his runoff against tea party challenger Chris McDaniel by backing some concrete policy initiatives, according the the state’s only member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
“We have historically black colleges in our state who do the best job they can trying to educate our citizens,” Representative Bennie G. Thompson told National Review Online during a Wednesday interview at the Capitol. ”I’d like to see efforts that they receive full funding. I’d like to see the health care of our citizens improved; our children die too young. I’d like to see an increased effort to make sure that the minority unemployment rate inn our state is reduced. So, there are a lot of opportunities for us to start with.”

Heartache: CBC disappointed Obama cabinet is so white...

I can't wait until they start calling Obama a racist...
(CNN) – Rep. Marcia Fudge, chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, expressed concern in a letter to President Barack Obama over the lack of African Americans among his new Cabinet picks.
“Congressional Black Caucus offices have had numerous phone calls from constituents questioning why none of the new appointees will be able to speak to the unique needs of African Americans,” Fudge, D-Ohio, wrote. “Their ire is compounded by the overwhelming support you’ve received from the African American community.”
The president faced criticism at the beginning of the year when he picked white males for some of the highest spots in the administration, including secretary of state, treasury secretary, defense secretary and chief of staff (the latter of which has the status of Cabinet-rank).
White House staff, however, said Obama was not finished with his cabinet picks.

Shocker: One-third of sitting black lawmakers have been named in an ethics probe at some point

It amazes me how many CBC members get re-elected in spite of what they have done...

Jackson Graft Case Further Indicts Black Caucus — IBD

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.’s guilty plea to fraud charges raises fresh questions about the Congressional Black Caucus. It’s a group with many laudable goals, but why do so many in it succumb to corruption?
A disproportionate share of ethics cases have been brought against this exclusive club.
According to a 2012 National Journal study, five of the six lawmakers under review by the House Ethics Committee were Black Caucus members. Yet just one in 10 House members belong to the group.
It’s a familiar pattern.
In 2009, all eight lawmakers under ethics investigation were African-American. Besides Jackson, they included Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., who was later convicted of accepting gifts from donors with business before his tax-writing panel and 11 other ethics violations.
All told, the Journal says, an astonishing one-third of sitting black lawmakers have been named in an ethics probe at some point in their Hill careers.
The stat does not include former lawmakers now doing time in prison, such as ex-Rep. William Jefferson, D-La. FBI agents last decade caught Jefferson red-handed with $90,000 of bribery cash stashed in his office freezer.

Fail: Congressional Black Caucus gives Eric Holder award for being a role model...

A role model for what? How to stonewall Congress and fail to enforce illegal immigration laws? Holder was held in contempt of Congress this year.

Via Breitbart:
Attorney General Eric Holder was awarded the Congressional Black Caucus’s Chair Award last Saturday at the Phoenix Awards Dinner in Washington, DC. In her keynote speech for the event, First Lady Michelle Obama gushed over Mr. Holder’s “outstanding contributions to our nation.” [...]
According to the event’s brochure, Mr. Holder’s award “is presented to an individual whose work and accomplishments stand as a role model for the African-American community and the African Diaspora.”

Video: Obama commits a major gaffe during CBC speech

What in the world was he thinking about? Has he started smoking weed again? President Obama was practically incoherent.

Obama says:
“You Don’t want Billionaires to pay the same tax rate as JEW… I mean Janitors”

Obama to Congressional Black Caucus: Shut Up and March With Me

The first black President tells the CBC to ignore the damage is doing to black Americans and "march with me, and press on...” If they have two brain cells to rub together, they will ignore Obama's plea and abandon this charlatan. Obama isn't a good president for any American of any color. He is destroying the economic prosperity of this country by pursuing a Socialist anti-business agenda and class warfare.
Washington (CNN) — While acknowledging the hard-hit black community and budding criticisms in its ranks, President Barack Obama said in a speech Saturday night to the Congressional Black Caucus that he wouldn’t give up — and urged members of the black community to join him to jump-start the still sluggish economy.

“I expect all of you to march with me, and press on,” Obama said. “. . .Stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying. We are going to press on. We’ve got work to do.”

The unemployment rate among African-Americans is 16.7%, nearly double the national average. That fact has made fiscal reforms a priority for caucus members, some of whom — most of them Democrats — have criticized the president for not doing enough on the issue.

Rep. Allen West Zings CBC on Twitter

Rep. Allen West points out President Obama's and the CBC's failure improve the lives of black Americans. With a record like this, it's no wonder they want to change the subject.

CBC is "too busy" to respond to Rep. Allen West's letter asking for them to condemn attacks on Tea Party

The CBC is "too busy" being corrupt working on jobs to respond to Rep. Allen West's letter asking for them to condemn race-baiting attacks on the Tea Party.
(TheDC) — Florida Republican Rep. Allen West will not be receiving a response to his letter challenging the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), Emanuel Cleaver to condemn recent attacks from its members on the tea party any time soon.

CBC spokeswoman Stephanie Young told The Daily Caller Thursday morning the CBC is likely not to respond to West in the coming weeks due to its hectic schedule and the CBC current focus on jobs.

Young issued a statement Wednesday in response to inquiries about West’s letter and threat to leave the CBC, which made no reference to the aforementioned snafu.

“Members of the CBC are in the midst of the final event of the Congressional Black Caucus’s ‘For the People’ Jobs Initiative in Los Angeles,” Young said. “Throughout the month of August, over 20,000 people have attended a CBC Jobs Initiative event in Cleveland, Detroit, Atlanta, Miami, and now Los Angeles. Real people are hurting, and the members of the CBC remain focused on getting Americans back to work.” Read more here...

CBC Unhappy With Rep. Allen West

Let's hope they get over it soon.
(Fox News) — The head of the Congressional Black Caucus told Fox News on Wednesday that members are “furious” about the incendiary email Rep. Allen West sent to the Democratic party chairwoman, saying he’s going to speak with the Florida Republican about the matter.

“It’s unfortunate,” Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., said. He could not say whether the CBC would seek to discipline its only Republican member, but claimed lawmakers were upset the incident has brought “undue attention” to the caucus.

West fired off an email Tuesday to Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, calling her “vile, despicable and cowardly” for calling into question his stance on Medicare on the House floor.

The CBC was planning to discuss the email at its weekly meeting Wednesday, but votes got in the way and the caucus now plans to discuss the issue at a later date.

In the meantime, Cleaver said, “I’m going to talk to him.”

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., another member of the CBC, said he was “shocked” to see the language West had employed.

Rep. Allen West Told Liberal CBC Members to Arm Themselves After Giffords Shooting

The liberal members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) were leery of Rep. Allen West's suggestion. I wonder why?
(The Hill)-  Still, some are “leery” of West, according to a CBC member who requested anonymity.

West raised some eyebrows in a CBC meeting soon after the assassination attempt of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

After members expressed concern for their safety, West, a two-decade plus Army veteran, said members should consider carrying a concealed weapon.

In an interview with The Hill this week, West said, “They were talking about getting detailed security and I said, ‘Well you just look in your state as far as getting a concealed weapons licensing,’ which is something that I have. I think personal protection starts with yourself, but you just coordinate with local law enforcement to make sure you have collateral security at your events.”

CBC member Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) said West’s suggestion didn’t go over well, adding it was “frowned” on by other lawmakers.

Another Democrat and CBC member Busted for Funneling Scholarships to Relatives

Congressional Black Caucus Foundation scholarships are for deserving talented students. Apparently, CBC members relative are the most deserving of all.

Politico reported:

Rep. Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.) awarded three scholarships from the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation to his stepdaughter and wife’s niece between 2003 and 2005, according to records from the nonprofit group.

Bishop is the second Democrat found to have funneled CBC Foundation scholarship funds to relatives, threatening to turn the program into a larger political problem for the party. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) recently paid back $31,000 to the foundation for scholarships that she improperly awarded to various relatives and children of a top staffer.

CBC Pawned By Climategate Protester (video)

It isn't just the MSM in America that is trying to ignore Climategate. The media in other countries have their heads stuck in the sand too. Canadian CBC got pawned on live TV by a Climategate protester. This is too funny.
