The swing-state polling is a mirror image of her national numbers. Last week, Quinnipiac found Clinton’s negative ratings with white men at a stunning 72 percent—significantly worse than the Democratic Party’s already-serious struggles with that demographic group. Meanwhile, she’s not performing at nearly a strong-enough level with women to counteract the problem. Only 49 percent of women viewed her favorably in the poll, with 47 percent holding negative views. For all the self-inflicted problems that Republicans have in reaching out to a diversifying country, Hillary Clinton’s favorability with white men is worse than Jeb Bush’s with Hispanics, Ben Carson’s with African-Americans, and Carly Fiorina’s with women in the same survey.

Hillary Clinton's gender gap...
The mainstream media is always pointing out Republicans gap with Hispanics. Until this year, they were pointing out Republicans gap with women, but that seems to be closing recently. The don't point out Democrats gap with women. Hillary's gap is especially bad. Men hate her.

Young men to get hammered by Obamacare premium hikes...
You men will on average see their health insurance rates double.Women will also see a significant increase. It is highly unlikely these young men will purchase insurance through the exchanges. They will pay the small penalty and move on.
Via MoneyWatch:
Via MoneyWatch:
New research from the Manhattan Institute estimates that insurance rates for young men will rise by 99 percent. Rates for younger women will rise between 55 percent to 62 percent, according to the right-leaning New York think tank.
The precise impact of the new health law is likely to vary markedly from state-to-state, however. That's largely because different states have had different requirements for what had to be included in health insurance policies in the past. The Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare, overrides these rules and sets a federal overlay that demands a wide array of mandatory coverages. The Manhattan Institute has drawn up an interactive map that may help forecast the rise in cost for individuals.
These differences mean men will get hammered in North Carolina with an average 305 percent rate hike, while women will suffer in Nebraska, paying an average of 237 percent more. For most people, subsidies in the law will not counteract the rate shock, says co-author of the study Avik Roy, a health care expert and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.

Male jurors are biased against obese women?
I am not surprised men favor thinner women, but this should be a factor in a jury trial.
Via Slate:
Via Slate:
This month a team of Yale psychologists released a study indicating that male jurors—but not female jurors—were more likely to hand a guilty verdict to obese women than to slender women. The researchers corralled a group of 471 pretend peers of varying body sizes and described to them a case of check fraud. They also presented them with one of four images—either a large guy, a lean guy, a large woman, or a lean woman—and identified the person in the photograph as the defendant. Participants rated the pretend-defendant’s guilt on a five-point scale. No fat bias emerged when the female pretend peers evaluated the female pretend defendants or when either men or women assessed the guilt of the men. But when the male pretend peers pronounced judgment on the female pretend defendants, BMI prejudice reared up. Jesus wept. The justice system and our basic faith in male decency took another hit.
The study offers further depressing insights. Not only did the male pretend jurors prove “significantly more likely” to find the obese female defendants—rather than the slim ones—guilty, but the trim male participants were worst of all, frequently labeling the fat women “repeat offenders” with “awareness” of their crimes. And because the effect disappeared when the photographs depicted a man, the hypothesis that subjects were simply layering class-based assumptions—such as “poor people are more often overweight” and “poor people commit more crime”—on top of one another falls a bit short. (On the other hand, as one of the researchers, Dr. Natasha Schvey, explained to me over the phone, fat women are more likely to be perceived as coming from lower socioeconomic backgrounds than fat men. Somehow I don’t find that consoling.)

Finally, a man aisle at the grocery store
It's about time men stopped being subjected to horrible discrimination at the grocery store... /sarc
Sometime last year, Procter & Gamble Co. was throwing around some crazy ideas of creating a grocery aisle specifically for men, apparently a brand new breed of consumers walking around grocery stores.
The idea was to give the lonely male lost in a supermarket a fun shopping experience, putting everything a man's man would need in one place. And New York City's Westside Market has gone and done just that.
Called "The Man Aisle," the space stocks stereotypically male items like beer, cereal, soda, beef jerky, hot sauces, barbecue sauces, condoms, and oh, Chock Full o'Nuts coffee.
"People rarely cater to men in the supermarket," COO Ian Joskowitz told us over the phone. "So I thought let’s do something fun, get people talking, something guys would like. So we started discussion, and it’s funny because most of us came up with a very similar list."
This was, of course, spawned by a recent ESPN study showing that 31 percent of grocery shoppers are now men, in comparison to the 14 percent in 1985.

Confirmed: Blue Collar Men Hate Obama
The NASCAR crowd isn't into girlie men...
Via National Journal:
Via National Journal:
The new Quinnipiac University and ABC/Washington Post national surveys out this week converge on one key conclusion: as the election nears, President Obama is sinking to historic lows among the group most consistently hostile to him.Though pollsters at each organization caution that the margins of error are substantial when looking at subgroups such as this, each poll shows erosion within that margin of error for Obama with these working-class white men. The new Quinnipiac poll shows Obama attracting just 29 percent of non-college white men, down from 32 percent in their most recent national survey in April, according to figures provided by Douglas Schwartz, April Radocchio and Ralph Hansen of Quinnipiac. The ABC/Washington Post survey found Obama drawing just 28 percent of non-college white men, down from 34 percent in their May survey, according to figures provided by ABC Pollster Gary Langer. Romney drew 56 percent of the non-college white men in Quinnipiac and 65 percent in the ABC/Washington Post survey.
Throughout his career on the national stage, Obama has struggled among white men without a college education. But in these latest surveys, he has fallen to a level of support among them lower than any Democratic nominee has attracted in any election since 1980, according to an upcoming National Journal analysis of exit polls from presidential elections.

Shocking Statistic: 17 per cent of men aged 25 to 54 are unemployed
And Obama wonders why his poll numbers with men are so low.
(Daily Mail) — It makes for sobering reading.
In recent months the job market looked to be on the rise, offering hope that the economy might finally be getting back on track.
But data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that nearly 20 per cent of America’s core workforce are out of a job.
After five years of struggles, it is a sobering reminder of how far the country still has to go.
Two in 10 or 17 per cent of men aged 25 to 54 — traditionally the backbone of the workforce — are unemployed.
Just five years ago 88 per cent of prime-age men were holding down steady jobs. Going back to the 1940s through 70s more than 90 per cent were in employment.
More shocking still is the fact the number of 25 to 54-year-old men with a job (45.9 million) is actually lower than during the height of the recession, which ran from December 2007 to June of 2009.
SmartMoney compared that data to the entire population and noted that, by that measure, just 75 percent of prime-age men currently have a full time job.

Gallop Poll: Obama's approval among men at new low of 36%
Pansy-in-Chief
Kudos to men for seeing through this charlatan.
(CNSNews.com) - The percentage of American men saying they approve of the way Barack Obama is handling his job as president hit an all-time low of 36 percent in the Gallup poll last week.
That is down from a peak of 64 percent approval among men that Obama received in the seven-day period that ended on Jan. 25, 2009, the week he was inaugurated.
After his first week in office, Obama’s approval among men as measured by the Gallup poll never again matched that 64-percent peak.

Confirmed: Men Do Not Like Obama

Gallop has found President Obama has hit a new low of 39% among men. One reason may be men have been hit harder by the ongoing recession than women.
From CNS News:
President Barack Obama’s job approval rating among American men has fallen to a record low, hitting 39 percent in the week of Aug. 16-22, according to the Gallup Poll.
The week of Aug. 16-22 also marked the first time Obama’s average weekly approval rating dropped below 40 percent for either gender. His approval rating among American women was 46 percent for the week.
