Change: Union calls for repeal of Obamacare...
Obamacare was so poorly considered the unintended consequences are numerous...
United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers:
United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers:
Our Union and its members have supported President Obama and his Administration for both of his terms in office.
But regrettably, our concerns over certain provisions in the ACA have not been addressed, or in some instances, totally ignored. In the rush to achieve its passage, many of the Act’s provisions were not fully conceived, resulting in unintended consequences that are inconsistent with the promise that those who were satisfied with their employer sponsored coverage could keep it.
These provisions jeopardize our multi-employer health plans, have the potential to cause a loss of work for our members, create an unfair bidding advantage for those contractors who do not provide health coverage to their workers, and in the worst case, may cause our members and their families to lose the benefits they currently enjoy as participants in multi-employer health plans.
For decades, our multi-employer health and welfare plans have provided the necessary medical coverage for our members and their families to protect them in times of illness and medical needs. This collaboration between labor and management has been a model of success that should be emulated rather than ignored. I refuse to remain silent, or idly watch as the ACA destroys those protections.
I am therefore calling for repeal or complete reform of the Affordable Care Act to protect our employers, our industry, and our most important asset: our members and their families.

House Votes to Repeal ObamaCare 245-189
This is a great first step. Republicans are showing they are serious in their campaign promise to stop Obamacare. Of course, Harry Reid is too cowardly too bring repeal up for a vote in the Senate and President Obama would likely veto any repeal bill that reached his desk. The next move is to starve Obamacare to death by withholding all funding for anything relating to the bill.
(USA Today)- After a heated midterm election, the Republican-led House easily passed legislation to repeal the nation’s sweeping health care law.
The vote was 245-189. There were four Democrats that voted for repeal.
Overturning the law was a major campaign plank for Republicans in the 2010 elections, and many of the House’s nearly 100 new lawmakers promised to repeal the law that was pushed by President Obama and congressional Democrats.

“I think there wil be a significant number of Democrats who will join us,” Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Shocker: NYT Hates the Repeal Amendment Idea
The repeal amendment would restore the balance of power between the states and the federal government. By a vote of two-thirds of state legislators, any federal law could be overturned.
(NYT)- With public attention focused on taxes, the deficit, gays in the military and nuclear arms reduction, little attention has been paid, so far, to the Tea Party’s most far-reaching move to remake American governance. It is contained within a bill, called the repeal amendment, that was introduced in Congress after the election. The bill won the support of the incoming House majority leader, Eric Cantor, and is supported by legislative leaders in 12 states. If this amendment can be passed, the Supreme Court should be the next target. Wouldn't it be great to remove Supreme Court Justices by a two-thirds vote of state legislators? Perhaps that would motivate some of them to base their decisions off the Constitution.
The proposal is sweeping, expressing with bold simplicity the view of the Tea Party and others that the federal government’s influence is far too broad. It would give state legislatures the power to veto any federal law or regulation if two-thirds of the legislatures approved.

Video: Obama is Refusing to Consider Repeal of Obamacare
When confronted with the fact half of voters want to repeal Obamacare, President Obama tried to turn it around and claim,
That isn't exactly true. 52% of voters favor repeal. Only only 36% of voters oppose repeal.
"One out of two voters believe it was the right thing to do."
That isn't exactly true. 52% of voters favor repeal. Only only 36% of voters oppose repeal.

Republicans...err...I Mean Democrats Try to Repeal Part of Obamacare

Democrats forgot to read the health care reform bill before they rammed it through Congress. Consequently, they have discovered a need to repeal part of it.
The Politico reported:
Democrats proposed repealing new IRS reporting requirements that small business has warned would be overly burdensome. But they attached a new tax on Americans conducting business overseas— essentially a poison pill for Republicans who are unlikely to support a new tax.
If they had read the bill and knew anything about business, Democrats would have known this was a bad idea. If they succed in repealing this section, the bill will become a budget buster by CBO scoring, unless they cut somewhere else.
