Obama Thumbs His Nose At Veterans

VFW : Our First Century

For the first time ever, the President will not speak at the VFW convention or send a top their replacement. President Obama must realize he has already lost the military vote.
(Fox News) — The Veterans of Foreign Wars convention this week will not feature a top-tier official from the Obama administration, a breach in tradition that the group’s commander described as an “insult of the highest magnitude.”

However, an administration official claimed Monday that the White House made “every effort” to provide a speaker for the event, offering up a range of top officials.

“In all instances, the VFW declined those offers,” the official said.

The veterans group is accustomed to playing host to the nation’s most powerful people at its national conference. Obama addressed the VFW in 2009, followed by Vice President Biden in 2010.

But the 2-million strong VFW accused the administration of snubbing its members by not providing a “first-tier speaker” for the first time in VFW history.

“The VFW has had a long-standing tradition of inviting the sitting president to address our convention,” Richard Eubank, national commander of the organization, said in a statement, adding that the White House typically chooses a “high-level administration official” to speak if the president cannot attend.

Obama Snubs Arizona Governor Jan Brewer

President Obama is so concerned about border security he is sending 1200 National Guard to the Arizona border in a political ploy to show support. Of course, they won't be armed or allowed to enforce immigration law. Obama isn't concerned enough about border security in Arizona to meet with Republican Governor Jan Brewer. Brewer requested a meeting next week when she would be in Washington to meet with other governors. President Obama is too busy hosting a concert and welcoming a soccer team.

FOX News
reported:
President Obama has turned down Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's request to meet while she's in Washington next week as tensions mount between his administration and Arizona over the state's new law cracking down on illegal immigrants.

Brewer will be in Washington to meet with other governors. She said Friday that she had asked to meet with Obama and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to discuss border security and immigration. But Obama's schedule "doesn't allow for a meeting" with her....

The apparent snub comes after Justice Department officials told Arizona's attorney general and aides to the governor Friday that the federal government has serious reservations about the state's new immigration law...

Obama Snubs A Cold War Hero

Vaclav Havel is a hero of the cold war who spent several years in prison for his advocacy of democracy and freedom.

From Gateway Pundit:
In 1977, his involvement with the human rights manifesto Charter 77 brought him international fame as the leader of the opposition in Czechoslovakia; it also led to his imprisonment. His political activities resulted in multiple stays in prison, the longest being four years under the communist regime. The 1989 “Velvet Revolution” launched Havel into the presidency. In this role he led Czechoslovakia and later the Czech Republic to multi-party democracy.

However, he had some uncomplimentary things to say about President Obama last year.

From FP:
Question: How, as president, do you decide when these small compromises are worth it and when they might lead to something more dangerous?
ned the opinion of our government. I gave him this book, and he thanked me for it.”

This was unbelievable! Why did they feel the need to explain their point of view to the leader of such a small nation? Because they respect it when someone is standing his ground, when someone is not afraid of them. When someone soils his pants prematurely, then they do not respect you more for it.

President Obama has repaid Vaclav Havel by snubbing him at the signing of the START II nuclear arms reduction treaty in his home country.

USA Today
reported:
Europe’s most famous Cold War warrior and former communist political prisoner was excluded from a ceremony yesterday where Russia and the U.S. took steps toward world peace.

Dalai Lama get the snub from Obama

Nobel peace prize winner Dalai Lama will not get to meet with President Obama on his visit to Washington. This is the first time a President has failed to meet with the Buddhist monk since he started visiting in 1991. Owing China all that money must come with a price.

The Telegraph reported:
It means Mr Obama will become the first president not to welcome the Nobel peace prize winner to the White House since the Dalai Lama began visiting Washington in 1991.

The Buddhist monk arrived in Washington on Monday for a week of meetings with Congressional leaders, celebrity supporters and interest groups, but the president will not see him until after he has made his first visit to China next month.

Samdhong Rinpoche, the Tibetan prime minister-in-exile, has accused the United States and other Western nations of “appeasement” toward China as its economic weight grows.
