Sen. Barbara Boxer warns New Black Panthers About Intimidating Voters...

Did I say New Black Panthers? I meant to say Tea Party...

Via RCP:
“I know everyone’s paying attention, I know the Obama campaign is ready to act on this. But I realized that there are two important federal laws, the Voting Rights Act, passed in the 60s, and Voter Registration Act passed in the 90s, that have criminal and civil penalties for people who try to intimidate a voter. And I wanted to make sure that the Justice Department is moving on these cases. So I did hear from them today, and although they can’t confirm or deny any particular case because I wrote about Ohio, they did say that they had opened up 42 investigations this year, which is good to know,” Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-California) told MSNBC’s Ed Schultz on Friday.
“They are pursuing, enforcing these laws, and they said I could say that anyone within the sound of my voice, anyone in this country who feels they’re being intimidated can call their nearest FBI office because it is a federal offense to harass someone, to intimidate someone. Think about all the people that worked so hard and struggled and went to prison and put their life on the line for the right to vote,” Boxer said.

Federal Court rules Obama political appointee interfered in New Black Panthers case

Political interference is the only logical explanation for the actions of the Justice Department in letting this intimidatory behavior go unpunished.

Via Washington Examiner:

A federal court in Washington, DC, held today that political appointees appointed by President Obama did interfere with the Department of Justice’s prosecution of the New Black Panther Party.

The ruling came as part of a motion by the conservative legal watch dog group Judicial Watch, who had sued the DOJ in federal court to enforce a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for documents pertaining to the the New Black Panthers case. Judicial Watch had secured many previously unavailable documents through their suit against DOJ and were now suing for attorneys’ fees.

Obama’s DOJ had claimed Judicial Watch was not entitled to attorney’s fees since “none of the records produced in this litigation evidenced any political interference whatsoever in” how the DOJ handled the New Black Panther Party case. But United States District Court Judge Reggie Walton disagreed.

DNC Chairman Worried About Black Panther Tea Party Voter Intimidation

DNC Chairman Tim Kaine is worried about Black Panther Tea Party voter intimidation this November. Although there has been no evidence of the Tea Party being involved in voter intimidation, it's good Democrats finally recognize it as a problem.
Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine suggested Thursday that there’s concern that Tea Party activists will intimidate Democrats at the polls in November.

“We’re always concerned about intimidation, misinformation,” Kaine said, when asked by a reporter whether he thinks the conservative activists will “challenge” voters on Election Day.

The New Black Panthers "Prepare For War" With The Tea Party

It is unclear why the New Black Panthers are worried about the Tea Party. After all, they have Eric Holder on their side. He dismissed voter intimidation charges after the government had a default judgment conviction.

Issues Wire
reported: .
“With the rise of the Tea Party, the white-right and other racist forces. With gun sales nationwide at an all time high amongst whites, with a mood that is more anti-Black than any time recent, it is imperative that we organize our forces, pool our resources and prepare for war!” Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz, Esq. Convention Convener and Party Chairman.
