Shocker! Political Appointee Involved in Decision to Drop Black Panther Case!

Documents received by Judicial Watch contradict sworn testimony by Thomas Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, May testimony. Perez testified no political appointees were involved in the decision to not pursue the Black Panther voter intimidation case.

Starting on page 78 of the Civil Rights Commission May 14, 2010 (Hearing on Voter Intimidation Investigation)

25 COMMISSIONER KIRSANOW: Was there any
1 political leadership involved in the decision not to
2 pursue this particular case any further than it was?
3 ASST. ATTY. GEN. PEREZ: No. The
4 decisions were made by Loretta King in consultation
5 with Steve Rosenbaum, who is the Acting Deputy
6 Assistant Attorney General.
(emphasis mine)
Here is the not so shocking truth. Democratic election lawyer Sam Hirsch was reportedly involved in the DOJ decision.

From Judicial Watch:
Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has forced disclosure of the existence of documents from the Department of Justice (DOJ) indicating Democratic election lawyer Sam Hirsch was involved in the DOJ decision to dismiss its voting rights case against the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense.

The records, described in a Vaughn index produced pursuant to a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, contradict sworn testimony by Thomas Perez, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, who testified before the U.S. Civil Rights Commission that no political leadership was involved in the decision (Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice (No. 10-851)). (emphasis mine)

The “Vaughn index” describes documents responsive to the lawsuit currently being withheld in their entirety by the Justice Department. Read more here.

Obama Supporter Blasts President Obama at Town Hall: “Quite Frankly, I’m Exhausted. I’m Tired of Defending You.” (Video)

Even President Obama's staunchest defenders are growing weary. Buyers remorse has set in.

From the video:
“Frankly, I’m exhausted. I’m tired of defending you… My husband and I thought we were beyond the hot dog and beans of our lives.”

This supporter may be tired of defending Obama, but the rest of us are just tired of him period.

President Obama tries to sell the Tea Party some Kool-aid

President Obama had some kind words for the Tea Party movement today, saying it fits in America’s “noble tradition of being healthily skeptical about government…" Then he followed the compliment up by insulting the intelligence of every Tea Party member.
President Obama said today that members of the Tea Party movement are “misidentifying… who the culprits are” in blaming Democrats for the nation’s deficits and debt.

President Obama blamed former President Bush for his deficits. Unfortunately for President Obama, Tea Party members can read a chart.

Bush deficits vs Obama deficits.

Kool-aid anyone?

DNC Chairman Tim Kaine Claims Obamacare is Helping Democrats in November

Nobody has been able to identify a single House member who’s running an ad boasting of a “yes” vote on Obamacare. Sixty-one percent (61%) of Likely U.S. Voters favor repeal of the law. DNC Chairman Tim Kaine is making a fool of himself.

CNN
reported:
Several House Democrats who voted against the health care overhaul earlier this year are now touting their “no” vote back home, but Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine said the legislation is beneficial to the party’s chances this November as a whole.

“I travel all over the country. I guess I’ve been in about 42 states, and most Democrats that I see on the trail are very proud of the accomplishment and they’re talking about it,” he said on CNN’s “State of The Union” with Candy Crowley Sunday.

Who is Chris Coons?

The Delaware Senate race has stirred national interest. The mainstream media has often attacked covered Christine O'Donnell. Of course, O'Donnell's coverage has been almost entirely negative. Very little other than campaign sound bites have been reported about her opponent. Just who is Cris Coons? Chris Coons comes from a privileged background and has a law degree from Yale Law School and a Master's in Ethics from Yale Divinity School. Coons studied in Kenya as a student, and after returning, wrote a paper claiming he was a "bearded Marxist." It is unclear if Coons is till a Marxist, but he is clearly to the political left of even President Obama. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has called Chris Coons "my pet." He currently is the County Executive of New Castle County in Delaware. On the surface, he seems like a pleasant man, but one local liberal has accused him of "evil" behavior and selective enforcement of laws for political purposes. Coons website claims he successfully guided New Castle County through the current economic downturn. However, many claim he has nearly bankrupted the County. He increased spending by 10% and hiked property taxes three times; one was a whopping 25% increase. Chris Coons personal finances are a little murky. In the past, he has been accused by some of violating campaign finance reporting law. According to the deed to his house, he bought a two story Colonial on a half acre for $10.It is unlikely Coons actually bought the house at that price, but it is unclear why he would hide the real selling price. Perhaps he was trying to avoid some of those 'sky high' property tax hikes he passed.

Home Depot Co-founder Bernie Marcus Slams Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner (video)

Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus is humorous, knowledgeable and down to Earth in this CNBC interview. He thinks Democrats' policies are out of touch with the private sector.
“My solution is that you take a guy like Timothy Geithner and put him in a new reality show. It’s called 'Timothy Geithner Does Small Business', something like [the porn movie] 'Debbie Does Dallas', and it ends up the same way,” said Marcus. ”Basically, what they’re doing to small business is very similar in this case [to what ‘Debbie’ did to Dallas.]”

Glenn Beck Ridicules Michelle Obama

Glenn Beck isn't a fan of Michelle Obama's healthy food initiative. At the Right Nation 2010 convention, Beck said,
"Get away from my french fries, Mrs. Obama," Beck warned. "First politician that comes up to me with a carrot stick, I've got a place for it. And it's not in my tummy."

If Michelle Obama is serious about healthy eating, she should start a little closer to home.

Taxpayers Flee Blue States

Rush Limbaugh left New York over high taxes. Many other millionaires in high tax states are making the same decision. It looks like the rich aren't the only ones fleeing high taxes and liberal governments. Nine of the top ten states with net migration outflow are blue. The only red state on the top ten list, Louisiana, made the list because of Hurricane Katrina.
