An audio recording of a talk former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg has attempted to block from being broadcast has surfaced online.
The full audio of the Feb. 6 event, held at the Aspen Institute, shows that the 73-year-old media mogul’s remarks about minorities and gun control were even more candid in some respects than initially reported.
“It’s controversial, but first thing is all of your — 95 percent of your murders, and murderers, and murder victims fit one [unintelligible]. You can just take the description, Xerox it, and pass it out to all of the cops. They are male, minorities, 15 to 25. That’s true in New York, it’s true in virtually every city in America,” said Bloomberg.
“You’ve got to get the guns out of the hands of the people getting killed,” he continued. “First thing you can do to help that group is to keep them alive.”

State Dept’s Marie Harf: Go After ‘Root Cause’ of ISIS 'Like Lack Of Jobs'

Lots of people are unemployed. It doesn't make them want to cut off infidels heads.

WH refers to 21-Egyptian Coptic Christians beheaded by ISIS in Libya as only ‘Egyptian citizens’.

There was no mention of them being Coptic Christians or ISIS motivation for murdering them.

The White House released a statement yesterday to condemn the beheadings of the 21-Egyptian Coptic Christians by ISIS in Libya but refused to refer to the victims as Coptic Christians or even just Christians. The statement, released by Press Secretary Josh Earnest, only referred to them as ‘Egyptian citizens’.

The United States condemns the despicable and cowardly murder of twenty-one Egyptian citizens in Libya by ISIL-affiliated terrorists. We offer our condolences to the families of the victims and our support to the Egyptian government and people as they grieve for their fellow citizens. ISIL’s barbarity knows no bounds. It is unconstrained by faith, sect, or ethnicity. This wanton killing of innocents is just the most recent of the many vicious acts perpetrated by ISIL-affiliated terrorists against the people of the region, including the murders of dozens of Egyptian soldiers in the Sinai, which only further galvanizes the international community to unite against ISIL.

Retired teacher runs afoul of NJ gun law because of 300-year-old flintlock...

That was his undoing.
Gordon van Gilder admits he may have run afoul of the law — but, “as a wise man once said, if that’s the law, the law is an ass.”
The retired teacher is facing a possible 10 years in prison — and the jeopardization of his pension — all because New Jersey state law classifies antique firearms the same way it classifies regular guns, meaning the state views van Gilder’s possession of an antique on par with him possessing a .44 Magnum.
The day after van Gilder told a deputy during a routine traffic stop about his antique gun, four law enforcement officers showed up at his house to arrest him.
Van Gilder said he’s fighting the felony gun possession charges, but the whole experience has soured his impression of the Garden State.
“Beware of New Jersey,” he told the National Rifle Association. “Don’t come here. Don’t live here.”

Chris Christie is from New Jersey and he hasn't fixed this stupidity. 

Jewish cemetery in eastern France vandalized...

PARIS (AP) — Hundreds of graves have been vandalized at a Jewish cemetery in eastern France, in what the president called an “odious and barbaric” anti-Semitic act against French values.
The vandalism comes at a time of growing insecurity among French Jews and amid general religious tensions in Europe, after Islamic radicals attacked a kosher market and a satirical newspaper in Paris last month and similar attacks hit Denmark this weekend.
French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in a statement Sunday that a criminal investigation team is at the damaged cemetery in Sarre-Union, near the German border, and authorities will do “everything” to pursue the vandals.
Jewish and Muslim gravesites and places of worship in France see sporadic but frequent vandalism. The incident this weekend was of an unusually large scale, and hit a cemetery that has been vandalized in the past. Local media reported that about 200 grave stones were knocked down, and a monument to Holocaust victims was damaged.

The District of Columbia could soon earn a new nickname: the Wild West of marijuana.
In 10 days, a voter-approved initiative to legalize marijuana will take effect, D.C. officials say. Residents and visitors old enough to drink a beer will be able to possess enough pot to roll 100 joints. They will be able to carry it, share it, smoke it and grow it.
But it’s entirely unclear how anyone will obtain it. Unlike the four states where voters have approved recreational pot use, the District government has been barred from establishing rules governing how marijuana will be sold. It was prohibited from doing so by Congress, which has jurisdiction over the city.

Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H. R. 4872 ) also required territories to establish exchanges to get funds.

The Supreme Court will rule this spring on the King v. Burwell claim the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) only offers premium subsidies “through an Exchange established by the State," as plainly stated in the law. The term through an "Exchange established by the State" is written in two places in the ACA.

Democrats claim this was just poor use of language due to the rush they were in to pass Obamacare, but the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (H. R. 4872 ) which amended Obamacare specifically states territories only get funds if they establish an exchanges.

One mistake in language might be believable, but not three.

In a move clearly intended by the Obama Administration to suppress the acquisition, ownership and use of AR-15s and other .223 caliber general purpose rifles, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives unexpectedly announced today that it intends to ban commonplace M855 ball ammunition as “armor piercing ammunition.” The decision continues Obama’s use of his executive authority to impose gun control restrictions and bypass Congress.
It isn’t even the third week of February, and the BATFE has already taken three major executive actions on gun control. First, it was a major change to what activities constitute regulated “manufacturing” of firearms. Next, BATFE reversed a less than year old position on firing a shouldered “pistol.” Now, BATFE has released a “Framework for Determining Whether Certain Projectiles are ‘Primarily Intended for Sporting Purposes’ Within the Meaning of 18 U.S.C. 921(a)(17)(c)”, which would eliminate M855’s exemption to the armor piercing ammunition prohibition and make future exemptions nearly impossible.
