Harry Reid Spreads Romney Rumors

Harry Reid is sharing a rumor he heard that Romeny didn't pay any taxes for 10 years at Bain Capital. I can top that. I heard a rumor Obama is a secret Muslim.

Via The Hill:

An investor with Bain Capital told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) that Mitt Romney didn't pay taxes for 10 years, Reid said.

About a month ago, Reid said, someone who had previously invested with the venture capital firm called him to say that the former Massachusetts governor hadn't payed taxes for a decade.

"Harry, he didn't pay any taxes for 10 years," Reid said he was told, according to The Huffington Post on Tuesday.

Reid said he wasn't sure if the tip was true or not.

63% say Romney's Bain Capital business background would help in dealing with the nation’s economic problems

President Obama has spent 10's of millions of dollars on his Bain Capital attack against Romney. It has been a complete failure. Unfortunately for the Obama campaign, they don't have another major card to play. Romney appears to be squeaky clean. They could attack him for being a flip-flopper, but most of the issues he has flip-flopped on would make Independents and even Democrats more likely to vote for him, not less.
WASHINGTON – Despite concerted Democratic attacks on his business record, Republican challenger Mitt Romney scores a significant advantage over President Obama when it comes to managing the economy, reducing the federal budget deficit and creating jobs, a national USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds.
By more than 2-1, 63%-29%, those surveyed say Romney’s background in business, including his tenure at the private equity firm Bain Capital, would cause him to make good decisions, not bad ones, in dealing with the nation’s economic problems over the next four years.
The findings raise questions about Obama’s strategy of targeting Bain’s record in outsourcing jobs and hammering Romney for refusing to commit to releasing more than two years of his tax returns. Instead, Americans seem focused on the economy, where disappointment with the fragile recovery and the 8.2% unemployment rate are costing the president.

Hypocrisy: President Obama has taken nearly $120,000 in donations from Bain Capital employees

How does President Obama look himself in the mirror in the morning?

TPM:
The Romney campaign is accusing President Obama of hypocrisy for accepting campaign contributions from Bain Capital employees while attacking the firm’s investments.
“President Obama has based his entire reelection campaign on a vicious, dishonest assault on Mitt Romney’s business career,” Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said in a statement. “The real question for President Obama is this: if Bain Capital is so bad, why have you taken nearly $120,000 in donations from them? President Obama’s actions are the height of hypocrisy.”

Mitt Romneyruns ad to counter Obama "Vampire" ad

Obama is running an ad attacking Romney's former company Bain Capital.

From the Ad:
“We view Mitt Romney as a job destroyer,” “a vampire. They came in and sucked the life out of us.”
Bain Capital invested in businesses. Some of these were failing at the time of investment. It saved some. Others went bankrupt. The bankruptcy rate was about 22%. That is just the way it is. Here is Romney's ad about the steel mill Bain Capital saved.

Here are some companies Bain Capital has invested in:
AMC Entertainment, Aspen Education Group, Brookstone, Burger King, Burlington Coat Factory, Clear Channel Communications, Domino's Pizza, DoubleClick, Dunkin' Donuts, D&M Holdings, Guitar Center, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), Sealy, The Sports Authority, Staples, Toys "R" Us, Warner Music Group and The Weather Channel.
