Unlikely: Demo Sen. Dick Durbin claims amnesty bill will help contain the Ebola epidemic in Africa

He is trolling us now...

Via Breitbart:
On Tuesday, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) said that a comprehensive amnesty bill would have helped America contain the Ebola epidemic in Africa. […]
“We included in the immigration reform bill, which passed the United States Senate, a provision which provided, in one respect, if you are medically trained in Africa and promise to serve in Africa for a period of time before going anywhere else, we would honor that and respect that and not allow people to be recruited into the United States if they still had an obligation to their country,” Durbin said, according to the Washington Times. “And secondly, that doctors in the United States would be able to serve in these crisis situations overseas without jeopardizing their immigration status.”

Demo Dick Durbin: House Republicans should stop acting like “squealing political pigs.”

Dirty Dick once attacked on our military by comparing them to Nazis, Soviets or members of the notorious Pol Pot regime. I guess he let Republicans off easy.

Via The Hill:
Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) told House Republicans to stop acting like “squealing political pigs.”
“We need to act like adults not like squealing political pigs,” Durbin said on the Senate floor Wednesday.
Durbin’s remarks were in reaction to a House Republican announcement that they would advance a government spending bill that defunds ObamaCare — something Democrats have said would lead to a government shut down.

Good News: Sen. Dick Durbin dodges question about having votes for gun control bill...

That means he doesn't have the votes...

CHRIS WALLACE, FOX NEWS HOST: Senator Durbin, you and Senator Cornyn, as the whips in the Senate, are the vote counters, the guys who know whether or not there are enough votes. Are there enough votes when this comes up this week for you to pass the Manchin-Toomey compromise on expanded background checks?

SENATOR DURBIN: I think John [Cornyn] will concede Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania is one of the mot conservative members of the Republican caucus and Joe Manchin, the most conservative of the Democratic caucus. The two have a proposal supported by 90% of the people in America, supported by 75% of the members of the National Rifle Association. I hope the 16 Senators and even more wil step up and join this approach to make sure that the background checks extend beyond where they are today to reach the 40% of firearms sold --

WALLACE: Do you have the votes? DURBIN: We haven't whipped it. When it gets down to it we have to ask, "Should we try to keep guns out of the hands of felons and people so mentally unstable?" They shouldn't own a firearm.

WALLACE: Senator Cornyn, do you have the votes to block it?

SENATOR CORNYN: I'm interested in the debate and discussion but I would make the point if Manchin-Toomey were the law of the land today, none of the four of the most recent tragedies would have been prevented...

Demo Sen. Dick Durban: Congress should “Design The Economy”

President Obama is attempting to frame the 2012 election as a battle between fat-cats and the rest of the country. The real issue of 2012 is control. Should the government control businesses, the economy and our lives or should we have capitalism, free markets and personal accountability?

Via Beltway Confidential:
With the public weary of bank bailouts, stimulus packages, and the federal loan program that produced the Solyndra scandal, Democrats still believe that Congress should play a major role in shaping the economy — with the help of expert planners, of course.

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., acknowledged as much when he accused congressional Republicans of “simply standing back while trying to design the bumper sticker for the 2012 election instead of designing the economy to put Americans back to work.” Durbin said this during an interview with the Chicago Tribune.

Durbin’s suggestion that Congress should “design the economy” gets to the heart of a pragmatic disagreement between Republicans and Democrats on matters of economic policy. Nobel prize-winning economist Friedrich Hayek explained that economic central planners do a much worse job of “designing the economy” than the decentralized “planners” of the free market — small businessman and consumers, for instance — who make personal economic decisions based on much more complete information. Central planners, in contrast, lack the knowledge to make good decisions for everyone.

Hilarious! President Obama can't get Democrats to pass his jobs bill!

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) reveals the real reason Senate Democrats delayed a vote on President Obama's jobs bill. They don't have the votes to pass it.
(The Hill)- Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said that, at the moment, Democrats don’t have the votes to pass President Obama’s jobs bill, but Durbin added that that would change.
“Not at the moment, I don’t think we do but, uh, we can work on it,” Durbin said according to Chicago radio station WLS…
“The oil-producing state senators don’t like eliminating or reducing the subsidy for oil companies, “Durbin said. “There are some senators who are up for election who say I’m never gonna vote for a tax increase while I’m up for election, even on the wealthiest people. So, we’re not gonna have 100% Democratic senators. That’s why it needs to be bi-partisan and I hope we can find some Republicans who will join us to make it happen.”
There are still no cosponsors either.

Demo Sen. Dick Durbin: Dream Act is "starting point" of amnesty

Obvious...
(CNS) – Passage of the Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act would be the “starting point” in legislating legal status for the millions of illegal aliens in the United States, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) indicated Tuesday.

At a press conference, he characterized the DREAM Act as his contribution to – and a stepping stone towards – “comprehensive immigration reform.”

Durbin has been a driving force behind the 10-year campaign to get the legislation enacted. It was re-introduced most recently last May.

CNSNews.com asked him Tuesday what passage of the law would mean for parents who had brought their young children into the U.S. illegally.

“It’s a very valid question,” he replied. “I support comprehensive immigration reform. I believe we need fairness and justice for everyone in the country – and I’m starting with the DREAM Act because that is my part of it.”

. . . “I didn’t want to leave but I knew that [the DREAM Act] was going to be the accepted starting point,” Durbin said. “And I want it to be a starting point.”

Dick Durbin Accuses Harry Reid of Betraying Constitution?

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin has taken a position of support for the Ground Zero Mosque. Durbin called out Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin for dividing America with fear and betraying the Constitution. I guess he forgot his Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is also opposed to the GZM. Of course, it is a little late to accuse Reid of betraying the Constitution. He already did that when he helped ram Obamacare down American's throats.

The Hill reported:
Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) said Sunday that those who are opposed to the mosque are trying to divide the country with fear and hate.

“The mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, has given his assent to this center and I support his decision,” Durbin said Sunday. “The politicians like Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin who try to divide America with fear and hate over this issue betray the diversity which makes our nation great and the Constitution which they profess to honor.Read more here.

Hmm...Dick Durbin Subpoenaed In Blagojevich Trial

We have to wonder what this is about. Will Durbin rollover on Obama? Popcorn anyone?

MSNBC reported:
U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin says he's been subpoenaed by Rod Blagojevich's defense attorneys to testify at the ousted Illinois governor's upcoming corruption trial.

Durbin discussed the subpoena during an appearance in Chicago on Friday — a day after Blagojevich's lawyers asked a federal judge to issue a subpoena to force President Barack Obama to testify.

Dick Durbin Says Obama Not Telling Truth About Health Care Premiums Going Down Under Obamacare

President Obama said most peoples health care premiums will go down if Obamacare is passed.
President Obama, March 8, 2010: "Our cost-cutting measures mirror most of the proposals in the current Senate bill, which reduces most people’s premiums."

Dick Durbin contradicts President Obama.
Sen. Dick Durbin, March 10, 2010: "Anyone who would stand before you and say 'well, if you pass health care reform next year's health care premiums are going down,' I don't think is telling the truth. I think it is likely they would go up."

Clueless Dick Durbin doesn't know mandates are in H.R.3200 (video)

At a televised health care town hall, a constituent asks Senator Dick Durbin if the constitution allows the government to mandate Americans buy health insurance. Durbin claims ignorance of what is in H.R.3200 and refuses to say he will oppose mandates in the Senate version. It is unbelievable that Durbin is that ignorant of the house bill. Senator Durbin is either disingenuous or too lazy to do his job. Read the bill Senator. If that is too much trouble, turn on FOX News or do a Google search. When pressed on the mandate question, Durbin said, "I'd like to see how it's written." This statement indicates Durbin is OK with mandates if the language suits him. Interestingly, the questioner has a great defense against the comparison of mandatory car insurance to mandatory health insurance. The video gets interesting at the 2:30 mark.

Durbin Accuses ObamaCare Opponents of Attempting to "sucker punch" at Town Halls

Democrats thought Town halls were great until the public turned against their plans to nationalize our health care. Now, Senator Dick Durbin is accusing voters of attempting to "sucker punch" Senators and Congressmen into not voting for ObamaCare.

From Freedom's Lighthouse:
Here is video of Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin saying that Americans turning out to question and protest at Health Care forums all across the nation are attempting to "sucker punch" Senators and Congressmen to keep them from voting for Government Health Care.

Durbin claims the citizens attending the events who are opposing the Democrats' Government Health Care Plan are there at the instigation of "Health Insurance Companies and people like them."

Did Dick Durbin Accuse Whites of Having Racism in their DNA at SCOTUS Hearing?

Did Dick Durbin accuse whites of having racism in their DNA at the SCOTUS nominee Hearings? That is what some pundits have concluded after his outrageous remarks at Sotomayor's confirmation hearing.

From Fox Nation:
Democrats clearly enjoyed being on the other side of the confirmation process, defending a Democratic nominee.

"When we asked questions of the white male nominees of a Republican president, we were basically trying to ... make sure that they would go far enough in understanding the plight of minorities, because clearly that was not in their DNA," Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., said.

"The questions being asked of you from the other side primarily are along the lines of, will you go too far in siding with minorities?" Durbin said.

Senator Durbin is one of the democrats trying to take vouchers away from minority students and force them back into under performing segregated schools.
