Independents more likely to vote for Romney after debate...

Only 29 percent of independents think Obamacare is good for the country
Most independents are not going to vote for Obama. Obama's strategy is to make mitt Romney unacceptable and hope independents stay home on election day.

Via Weekly Standard:
The latest polling by Rasmussen Reports shows that independents think Obamacare would raise (53 percent), rather than lower (16 percent), health costs. They think it would reduce (50 percent), rather than improve (13 percent), the quality of health care. They think it would raise (56 percent), rather than lower (13 percent), the deficit. And they think it would be bad (50 percent), rather than good (29 percent), for the country. Not surprisingly, by a 13-point margin (51 to 38 percent), they think Obamacare should be repealed.
In all, this week’s poll marks the 101st consecutive time that likely voters (from across the political spectrum) support the repeal of Obamacare. It also marks the 39th consecutive time, dating back to the spring of 2011, that likely voters favor the repeal of Obamacare by a double-digit margin.

Poll: Only 31 percent of Independents Approve of President Obama
President Obama's approval among Independents is plummeting.
A new poll shows President Barack Obama’s disapproval rate among political independents has broken above 50 percent, even while he is using the debt ceiling debate to seek approval from those critical swing voters.
Support for Obama among independents has fallen from 42 percent in May to 31 percent, and disapproval has risen to 54 percent, according to a late July poll of 1,500 registered voters by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.Assuming there is a roughly equal number of Republicans and Democrats nowadays, Obama can not win reelection without a majority of Independents.
The drop in support among independents is critical because both parties have a roughly similar number of die-hard supporters. The 2012 election prize will go to the candidate who draws more independent voters, and Obama’s decline in that crucial demographic has dragged his ratings down among registered voters, according to the Pew poll.

61% of Independents want to see proof of Obama's birth story
Independents decide national elections. President Obama has a big problem with Independents in 2012. They want to see proof of his birth story.
(WND)- "Half of those surveyed said they believe these questions about Obama's legitimacy as president are either troubling or should be satisfied by Obama. In fact, more people want Obama to prove his legitimacy – 42 percent – than believe that the lingering questions are not valid – 32 percent," Wenzel said.
That division is 41.9 percent who say Obama should prove his birth story, including 60.9 percent of Independents, 58.6 percent of Republicans and 13.2 percent of Democrats.

New Poll: Independent Voters Agree With Conservative Policies on 37 of 40 Major Issues
This poll doesn't bode well for Democrats in 2012.
(Weekly Standard)- If the House were composed solely of independents, it would pass the same conservative legislation as Republicans on Obamacare, the individual mandate, purchasing health insurance across state lines, spending, offshore oil drilling, and Social Security reform...
...The Resurgent Republic analysis found that independents favored conservative policies on 37 of 40 major issues. Only on three education issues – teacher certification, aid to private schools, and merit pay – were independents in the liberal camp, though the polling was mixed on merit pay. The most recent Resurgent Republic poll found them siding narrowly with conservatives on basing teacher pay partly on student performance.

New Survey: 40% of Tea Party Are Democrats or Independents

But...but...We were told Tea Party members were all right-wing Republicans. A new survey of 1,000 registered voters between December and February found Tea Party participants were 28 percent Independent and 13 percent Democratic. This shows how out of touch Democrats and the mainstream media are with Americans.
The Hill reported:
Four in 10 Tea Party members are either Democrats or Independents, according to a new national survey.

Independents Sour On Democrats

The large number of Independents who helped Barack Obama win the White House and Democrats gain large majorities in Congress have soured on the Democratic Party. At first, Democrats tried to deny the outcome of the November 3rd election as local politics. Now there are far too many polls for Democrats to ignore.
From Politico:
Mounting evidence that independent voters have soured on the Democrats is prompting a debate among party officials about what rhetorical and substantive changes are needed to halt the damage....
