Obama declares himself “Kenyan American”

I thought he was born in Hawaii...

Describing himself proudly as a “Kenyan American,” President Obama on Sunday reached deep into his personal history to urge this East African nation to reject the “dark corners” of its past and chart a “path to progress” befitting the 21st century.
Throughout his much-anticipated, three-day trip here, Obama delighted his father’s native country with humorous references to his family connections and by speaking short phrases in Swahili.
At the same time, Obama gently reminded Kenyans that his relationship with their nation today must be as U.S. president, not native son.
But as he departed for Ethiopia, Obama stepped fully into his unique role and spoke frankly to Kenyans as only a member of the family can.

Kenyan news outlet: Obama's family has now entirely disowned him

They don't even think Obama is Barack Obama Sr.'s son?

According to reports, President Obama’s Kenyan family has now completely “disowned him.”
The much-chronicled “complicated” relationship between Obama and his Kenyan family has reportedly utterly collapsed in the last few years, the family accusing him of turning a blind eye to them and only touting his Kenyan heritage for “political expediency.” As the NY Times noted in April 2014, though Obama consistently “distanced” himself from the family as president, his Kenyan heritage was a “powerful element” of his first presidential campaign, when he sold himself as “a candidate who connect different worlds,” even inviting a delegation of his African relatives to his 2009 inauguration.
The relationship really melted down last year when Obama allegedly stonewalled the family over the funeral of Obama’s aunt Zaituni, which the president skipped in order to play another round of golf.
According to a Kenyan news outlet, the president’s family has now entirely disowned him. One of his more vocal critics, his half-brother, Malik Obama (son of Barack Obama Sr), maintains that Obama is not actually the son of Barack Obama Sr. Malik’s evidence: Barack looks and behaves nothing like Obama Sr. Most likely, Malik claims, the president was born of an affair between his mother Ann Dunham and communist poet Frank Marshal Davis—a conspiracy theory that has circled around for years.

White House deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes said Monday the attack is proof that al Shabaab is on its heels.
“The fact of the matter is we’ve actually had a very aggressive effort to go after al Shabaab in Somalia, both through direct U.S. counterterrorism efforts, but also through support for AMISOM, the international force, including Kenya, that has pushed al Shabaab out of a number of its strongholds in Somalia,” Rhodes told reporters traveling with the president. “And, frankly, I think it was that pressure on al Shabaab that, in terms of their own professed motivation, led them to pursue an attack against Kenya.”

Why did Barack Obama choose to market himself as Kenyan?

Bookworm Room has a plausible theory as to why Barack Obama decided to market himself as Kenyan when he was younger. Don't believe for a moment the story about this being a fact checking error by a low level(at the time) employee of the publisher. It has been verified this publisher, like most others, normally gets biographical information from the author and the Kenyan birth part survived 4 different revisions of the biography. Even if the publisher had pulled this out of their butt, it is not believable a narcissist like Barack Obama didn't read it. It was posted on their website through three different website changes over a 16 year period.

Barack Obama has kept carefully hidden all of his college records.  Many of us have assumed that this secrecy is because those papers show that he took nothing but Leftist Mickey Mouse classes and ended up with lousy grades.

Now that we know that Obama marketed himself to publishers as a Kenyan, though, we’re beginning to suspect that the papers hide, not only academic mediocrity, but the same Kenyan identity Obama was using to market himself in the publishing world.  The question, of course, is why would Obama pretend to be African?  After all, when it came to college admissions, wasn’t being black good enough for affirmative action purposes?[...]

When it comes to college admissions, 1978 isn’t just any year.  It’s a very special year.  It was the year that the Supreme Court decided Regents of the University of California v. Bakke (1978) 438 U.S. 265.

Regents of the University of California v. Bakke struck down affirmative action quota systems.

With that decision, Obama, who was a self-confessed slacker in high school, suddenly lost his e-ticket to a good college.   He couldn’t know then (nor would it have mattered) that the various concurrences in this deeply divided opinion would eventually open the door to colleges and universities making race a “factor” in admission, so much so that this “factor-ness” eventually created a whole new quota system.

My best guess is that, denied an opportunity to use quota systems to parlay a lousy academic record into a quality college admission, Obama searched around for other means of bypassing his academic failings.  It was this search that led him to announce that he was Kenyan. [...]

Barack Obama is a self-admitted slacker and drug user in high school. It is very likely he needed some kind of assistance to get into a decent college. Before he ran for President, many people, including AP, thought Obama was born in Kenya. Even Hawaii newspapers thought Obama was born in Kenya. If Obama entered U.S. college as a Kenyan, wouldn't he have had to proven he was a foreigner by presenting a birth certificate or foreign passport?

This isn't a smoking gun proving Obama was born in Kenya, but you can see why some people subscribe to that theory.

Breitbart News has obtained a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama's then-literary agency, Acton & Dystel, which touts Obama as "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."

The booklet, which was distributed to "business colleagues" in the publishing industry, includes a brief biography of Obama among the biographies of eighty-nine other authors represented by Acton & Dystel.

Obama increases funding to his home nation of Kenya

It's nice to see Obama hasn't forgotten his birthplace ancestral homeland.

Kenyan businesses lately are increasingly becoming recipients of U.S. government largesse, as the Obama Administration, among pursuing other endeavors, aims to expand "livestock-related economic opportunities" in the president’s former home nation. Although this and other recently released presolicitation notices for unrelated programs serve as advance alerts to potential vendors—and therefore do not offer cost estimates and other details— a review of U.S. government contracting actions nonetheless indicates a spike of activity in Kenya in a variety of sectors.

The White House is committing to a five-year effort to "improve the inclusiveness and competitiveness" of the livestock industry specifically in Marsabit and Garissa counties, Kenya, according to a presolicitation notice released April 12 that U.S. Trade & Aid Monitor located via routine database research.
The Feed the Future-related initiative, known as the Resilience and Economic Growth in the Arid Lands-Accelerated Growth, or REGAL-AG, program, will be carried out by contractors hired by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), according to the document.

The agency did not disclose the project’s estimated cost: "No additional information regarding this planned RFP [Request for Proposals] is available at this time."

USAID that same day separately alerted potential contractors to the launching of yet another endeavor in that nation, known as the Kenya Agricultural Value Chain Enterprises, or KAVES, program.[...]

Other recent contracting actions include:

• Up to $50 million in U.S. Navy-coordinated military construction projects on the horizon at Camp Simba, Kenya, and at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti.
• Deployment to Kenya of a privately contracted Regional Advisor for USAID’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA). as well as an Emerging Pandemic Threats Advisor.
• A U.S. Trade & Development Agency-led search for a contractor to perform a “definitional mission” exploring possible funding of geothermal energy projects in Kenya and Rwanda.

Last Friday Obama claimed "I am my brother’s keeper." Actual brother still living in poverty.

“ But part of that belief comes from my faith in the idea that I am my brother’s keeper and I am my sister’s keeper; that as a country, we rise and fall together. I’m not an island. I’m not alone in my success. I succeed because others succeed with me.”

That claim doesn't extend to his actual family in Kenya.

President Obama has ignored his African family line. President Obama doesn't help any of his relatives in Kenya. This poor grandmother of 90 years still lives in absolute poverty in a small village in Kenya and she gets no help at all from Obama. Obama's half brother George Obama still lives in the slums in Kenya and gets no help at all from his elder brother Barack Obama the president of the richest country on earth which is very sad. The American presidency can never buy you a new family line so if you ignore your family line just because of your position then you are not being a good person at all. I used to like Obama a lot. I still like him but not that much why because Obama ignores his poor African relatives. I still believe blood is thicker than water.

I remember in 2008 when Obama was doing very bad in the polls, he left the campaign trail and came all the way to the poor village in Kenya to see his grandmother just to get "Sympathy votes" and then he started ignoring them once he won the presidency. Even he did not want to invite any of his family members in Kenya to attend his inauguration. It became a very hot topic on cnn before Obama decided to invite just a few of them to attend his inauguration at the very last minute which is very bad.

If Obama was born in Hawaii and raised in Indonesia, why would he call Kenya home?

California Attorney Orly Taitz Claims She Has Obama's Kenyan Birth Certificate (picture)

I have no idea if this is for real, but California Attorney Orly Taitz claims she has filed a motion in District Court to have it authenticated. This signed Kenyan birth certificate lists Obama's parents as Barack Hussein Obama and Stanley Ann Obama, formerly Stanley Ann Dunham, the birth date as Aug. 4, 1961, and the hospital of birth as Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, Kenya. We should withhold judgment until more information comes out.
