Dispelling the myth House Republicans are deeply divided over shutdown to stop Obamacare
House Republicans openly opposing the strategy that led to Obama forcing a shutdown number 12 to 14. After 2014, some of them won't be congressmen anymore. I disagree with Reuters portrayal of conservatives as the "far right." Thinking the government has evolved into a bloated monstrosity, far beyond what our founding fathers intended, that is crushing our liberty and individual drive to take care of ourselves isn't extreme. It's a fact.
In fact, support for the tactic that led to the shutdown - now in its fourth day - has proven to be far more solid and widespread among House Republicans than the Democratic portrayal.
That is because the far right, after the 2010 and 2012 congressional elections, is not a small segment at all - it represents probably 69 percent of the House Republican caucus.
Members who were endorsed by Tea Party organizations in the 2012 election make up a full third of the Republican caucus of 232 representatives.
Even more, about 160 members, a strong majority of the caucus, get high ratings from the ultra-conservative Club For Growth.

Shameful: Reuters uses disgruntled former insurance spokesman to corroborate claim contraception doesn't cost insurance companies money
Here is the spin from Reuters.
Aetna, the third-largest U.S. health insurer, said it would comply with the policy, but needed, "to study the mechanics of this unprecedented decision before we can understand how it will be implemented and how it will impact our customers."Wendell Potter is a disgruntled former Cigna employee with a tell all book, Deadly Spin, he is pimping. The spin in this story is on Reuters. If providing contraception for free was cost effective, Obamacare wouldn't have needed this additional mandate.
An Aetna spokeswoman said the company, "did not have any direct input into the actual policy decisions that were made."
The administration says insurers should ultimately make up any initial costs by avoiding expenses associated with unintended pregnancies.
That view was echoed by Wendell Potter, former top spokesman for insurer Cigna Corp who is now an industry critic.
"Providing contraception, even for free, is cost-effective for insurers so I don't think they'll balk," he said, adding it could even save them money in the long run.
"It may add a little administrative complexity to what they do, but they can deal with it."

Reuters Caught Cropping Weapons From Hands of Flotilla Peace Activists
Reuters is at it again. In the past, they were caught using Photo Shop on photos during the second Lebanese war to make them look worse than they were. Now they have resorted to cropping weapons out of photos to make it appear the activists on the Gaza blockade breaker flotilla were unarmed.
Here is the original photo. No knife!

Notice the knife in the activist's hand in the lower right of the picture.
Here is the cropped version.

You can find more on this deception here and here.

White House Has Reuters Reporter Fired?

Earlier this week, Reuters published a story under the headline Backdoor taxes to hit middle class. The link is now dead. Reuters replaced it with this:
The story Backdoor taxes to hit middle class has been withdrawn. A replacement story will run later in the week.
No replacement story has emerged. Instead, the reporter is no longer with Reuters.
Now comes word from former Editor & Publisher editor Greg Mitchell that Cullen is now no longer working at Reuters, though the circumstances of her departure remain unclear.
What brought about this retraction and loss of employment? Only Reuters and the former reporter, Terri Cullen, know the full truth, but the retraction took place after the White House complained.
Obama administration aides appealed to the Reuters White House reporting team to kill a story by another reporter of the news service that suggested the president's new budget blueprint included "backdoor" tax hikes.
The story claimed President Obama planned to let some of the Bush tax cuts expire and this was a backdoor tax increase on the middle class. Project World Awareness has a copy of the retracted story here.
