House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer Tells Dems They Can't Hide from Obamacare...

Own it...

Via Washington Examiner:
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., reminded vulnerable Democrats that they can’t “hide” from the Affordable Care Act in the 2014 elections, after a fundraising trip on behalf of one colleague whose allies portrayed her as an Obamacare whistleblower in a recent campaign ad.
“The Affordable Care Act is ours,” Hoyer told the Arizona Republic. “You’re not going to hide. You’re not going to duck. It is ours. We promoted it. We believe in it. Sell it. It is good for the country. It is good for Arizona.”
He had a chance to give that advice to Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., in person, if she cared to hear it. “Hoyer was in the state last week for a fundraiser” for Kirkpatrick and Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz. “He told the Republic that Obama’s 2010 health-care reform law, despite its rocky rollout, will be a boon for them and other House Democrats who might face vigorous re-election challenges this year.”

Demo Rep. Steny Hoyer has a solution to Obamacare woes. It's more money...

It's not like money doesn't grow on trees or something.

Via Washington Examiner:
Rep. Steny Hoyer wants to give President Obama more money to help fix the costly federal health care exchanges that have been roiled by problems since they launched at the beginning of the month.
Asked Tuesday how Congress could help improve the system by which millions of Americans must buy insurance by the end of the year, the House minority whip and Maryland Democrat said, “We can give them a little money.”
“[Republicans have] been pretty much focused in the House of Representatives on undermining the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in every which way that we possibly could,” he said.
Hoyer admitted that he does not know whether the project, which has already cost more than $400 million, has faced funding problems. “I don’t think that’s the reason,” he said. “If I know that, I’ll blame it.”

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer on debt ceiling: “It is not real,”

Hoyer probably feels the same way about the Constitution...
(CNSNews.com) – House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Tuesday that the debt limit is “not real” and should not be part of any negotiations to avert the fiscal cliff.
“First of all, I again would urge the Speaker not to use the debt limit to the detriment of the credit-worthiness of the United States of America as a leverage point,” Hoyer said during his weekly pen and pad briefing with reporters on Capitol Hill. “It is not a leverage point.”
“It is not real,” he said. “It is a phony political debate. We have incurred debt and the United States will meet its obligations, pure and simple.”

Minority Whip Rep. Steny Hoyer admits some Democrats will vote to hold Eric Holder in contempt of Congress

Thursday Eric Holder will secure his place in the history books as the first Attorney General to be held in contempt of Congress. The NRA is scoring this vote...
WASHINGTON (AP) — Now that the politically potent National Rifle Association is keeping score, some Democrats may join House Republicans if there’s a vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress in a dispute over documents related to a botched gun-tracking operation.

The chief Democratic House head counter, Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, declined to tell reporters how many defections he expected, but acknowledged that some in his party would consider heeding the NRA’s call for a “yes” vote.

The gun owners association injected itself last week into the stalemate over Justice Department documents demanded by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The NRA said it supports the contempt resolution and will keep a record of how members vote.

House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer urges colleagues to pass trillion dollar spending bill no one has read

Passing bills no one has read is a democratic tradition.
(The Hill) — House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) on Friday afternoon called on his colleagues to support the $1 trillion omnibus spending bill, even though no one — or almost no one — has read it.
“I rise in strong support of this bill, and I urge my colleagues to support this piece of legislation,” he said. “None of them have read it.”
He quickly acknowledged that House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) read the bill, and that ranking member Norm Dicks (D-Wash.) probably read it as well. But he said that despite his support for the bill, he is not a fan of the process that Republicans used to bring the bill forward so quickly, and at the last minute, for passage.
“Had I as majority leader brought that bill that sits on that floor, 1,207 pages, within the last 24 hours to the floor, I think the response from that side of the aisle would have been harsh, accusatory and not helpful,” Hoyer said.
Hoyer said the process should be a “lesson in humility” for all members. The House is expected to approve the bill later this afternoon and send it to the Senate.

House Minority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Clueless): The Unemployed Can Help Create Jobs If We Pass Unemployment Extension

Democrats equal spending money with creating jobs. Unfortunately, it doesn't necessarily work out that way. In order to spend money, you have to get it from somewhere. What you are actually doing is just shifting money around to those the government feel are deserving. The private economy is much better at getting that money in the hands of jobs creators. This is why the Stimulus failed so miserable.

(CNS News) - House Minority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told reporters Tuesday that passing unemployment insurance will allow the jobless “to continue participating in growing the economy and creating jobs.”
Passing legislation that would extend unemployment insurance (UI) “is not just for people who are unemployed. It’s for getting people who are unemployed the opportunity to continue to participate in growing the economy and creating jobs,” said Hoyer during his weekly pen and pad briefing with reporters.

Obvious: Steny Hoyer admits Obamacare ram through is affecting debt ceiling vote

After having Obamacare rammed through by Democrats in the middle of the night, Republicans aren't feeling as bipartisan as they used to be.

Steny Hoyer,
“I don’t think healthcare was handled the way it should’ve been
(Briefing Room) House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said lingering bitterness over how Democrats passed the healthcare reform law has made Republicans resistant to compromise on the debt ceiling.

Hoyer, speaking on CNBC, said he thought part of the reason Republicans have refused to compromise with Democrats on the debt-ceiling package was because of how House Democrats pushed through the Obama administration's healthcare law.

"I think that's accurate," Hoyer said Friday. "I don't think healthcare was handled the way it should've been, but let me tell you why: There was an openness to compromise, but the Republicans said, 'Look, we don't like your plan, we're not going to go there at all,' " Hoyer said.

Today's Repentant Democrat is Steny Hoyer

The Number Two House Democrat, Rep. Steny Hoyer, is now admitting he was wrong when he called Republican efforts to raise the debt ceiling “immoral” back in 2004.It's funny how having "your guy" in the White House changes everything.
(Daily Caller) — In preparation for the looming debate to raise the nation’s debt ceiling, a top House Democrat joined President Obama by issuing his own own personal mea culpa for opposing a debt ceiling increase in years past.

The number two Democrat in the House, Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, who called Republican efforts to raise the debt ceiling “immoral” when he voted against it in 2004, is the latest to apologize for his position on the issue. During a briefing with reporters Tuesday morning, Hoyer said his nay vote seven years ago was a “mistake.”

Outrage: Demo Steny Hoyer Claims Tea Partiers Come From “Unhappy Families”

Parking For Tea Partiers Only (Gadsden Flag) - 8" x 12" Metal Parking Sign (Border)
What a moron. Steny Hoyer Claims Tea Partiers come from “Unhappy Families.”
(IBD)- On the eve of his demotion by voters from House Majority Leader to House Minority Whip, Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., Hoyer offered this insight into the psychology of the Tea Party movement:
There are a whole lot of people in the Tea Party that I see in these polls who don’t want any compromise. My presumption is they have unhappy families. All of you have been in families: single-parent, two-parents, whatever. Multiple parent and a stepfather. The fact is life is about trying to reach accommodation with one another so we can move forward. That is certainly what democracy is about. So if we are going to move forward compromise is necessary.

Demo Steny Hoyer Accused of Knuckle-Punching GOP Opponent in the Back (Video)

Campaign 2010 has taken another bizarre twist. Democrat, Nancy Pelosi right arm and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer has been accused of threatening and knuckle-punching his GOP opponent Charles Lollar. Are democrats really this frustrated and desperate?

Southern Maryland Online reported:
According to their editor, she had several reporters at the press conference, but could not confirm if the man asking the question was theirs. The man was off camera.

“I could of swore, towards that end, just about shortly after he made that remark to you, that there was like a knuckle punch to your back. Were my eyes, am I that blind, did I make that up or was he, was he giving you kind of a goad there?” stated the questioner.

“You are not making that up,” responded Lollar. “It was done not just once, but twice.”

The knuckle-punch comments are at the 4:55 mark.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer Walks Back Nancy Pelosi's "Drain the Swamp" Promise

In October 2006, Nancy Pelosi promised to "drain the swamp" she claimed Washington had become. Of course, that was a Republican swamp. Pelosi has certainly failed to keep her promise since Democrats have gained control of the House. Now, her right arm, Steny Hoyer, wants nothing to do with the claim.

The Hill reported:
Pelosi famously vowed in 2006 to “drain the swamp” that ensnared Republican members and their leaders during the George W. Bush administration.

During his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Hoyer clarified that he has never used that phrase.

Steny Hoyer When Asked if Tea Party Pressure Was Causing Democrats to Retire: I think it does."

Retiring beats getting your pants beat off you in the 2010 November election.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer "... if you’re going to buy, you need to pay"

What Majority Leader Hoyer (D-Md.) really meant to say was, if President Obama and Democrats are to have any hope of continuing their record-breaking speeding spree, Americans are going to have to pay in the way of higher taxes.

The Hill reported:
Tax increases may be necessary to rein in $12 trillion in federal debt, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Monday.

Hoyer emphasized the need to reform Social Security and Medicare, but he also made it clear that raising taxes will have to be on the table.

“No one likes raising revenue, and understandably so,” Hoyer said in an address at the Brookings Institution. “But if you’re going to buy, you need to pay.

Barack Obama ran on a campaign promise to never raise any middle-class taxes. The 'sock it to the rich' strategy will only take you so far. The top 1% of taxpayers already pay over 40% of federal income tax. The bottom 40% of Americans don't pay any federal income tax. They actually pull money out of the system through refundable tax credits and President Obama wants to expand these credits. The whole secret purpose of President Obama's new debt reduction commission is to provide political cover for him to raise some taxes on those making less than $250 thousand a year. Republicans know this and they are not cooperating very well with President Obama about this commission.

Most Outragouse Brown Election Statement Goes to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) blames Republicans for voter anger. Incredibly, Hoyer thinks voters are mad at Republican opposition to the Democrats socialist agenda. Hoyer said,
"I think what the public is angry about is they see, first of all, an opposition for opposition's sake,"

More from The Hill:
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) on Tuesday said that angst voters have expressed early this election year is the result of GOP obstructionism, not the Democrats agenda.

Hoyer's remarks come as Republican state Sen. Scott Brown has surged in the Massachusetts special Senate election in part due to his pledge to be the GOP's 41st vote to filibuster healthcare reform legislation.

"I think what the public is angry about is they see, first of all, an opposition for opposition's sake," Hoyer told reporters.

Priceless Video: Hoyer Shouted Down by a Fellow Democrat at Press Conference

Many citizens interrupt House Democrat Majority Leader Steny Hoyer with shouts of "you are lying to us." A man, who claimed to be a registered Democrat, zinged Hoyer with this line.
"Why would you guys try to stuff a health care bill down our throat in 3-4 weeks, when the President took six months to pick what he wanted for a dog for his kids? What are you doing?"

Hoyer ingored the remark and started talking about the Erie Canal. The Erie Canal?
