China plays the greenhouse gas blackmail card

China has been making $18 a ton in carbon credits for destroying HFC-23 which reportedly only costs less than a cent per ton to destroy. Surprisingly, some people have a problem with that. China's response is to threaten to release the gases without destruction if their money tree is cut down. HFC-23 is believed to be a powerful greenhouse gas and ozone depleting substance. I say tell the Chinese to go for it. The effect on a global scale would be negligible.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- In the run-up to the international climate negotiations in Durban later this month, China has responded to efforts to ban the trading of widely discredited HFC-23 offsets by threatening to release huge amounts of the potent industrial chemical into the atmosphere unless other nations pay what amounts to a climate ransom. 

China's threat comes after the European Union and other nations moved to ban HFC-23 credits from internal carbon markets in recognition of the perverse incentives created by these credits under the UN Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). The vast amounts paid for HFC-23 offsets have led factories in China and elsewhere to manufacture far more HCFC-22 and its HFC-23 by-product than necessary, just to maximize the amounts paid to destroy HFC-23 through the UN-backed carbon trading scheme. 

In a shocking attempt to blackmail the international community, Xie Fei, revenue management director at the China Clean Development Mechanism Fund, threatened: "If there's no trading of [HFC-23] credits, they'll stop incinerating the gases" and vent them directly into the atmosphere. Speaking at the Carbon Forum Asia in Singapore last week, Xie Fei claimed he spoke for "almost all the big Chinese producers of HFCs who "can't bear the cost" and maintain that "they'll lose competitiveness". 

China's claim belies the fact that HFC-23 can be destroyed for just 0.20 cents per CO2e tonne. The destruction of one CO2e tonne generates one Certified Emission Reduction (CER) under the CDM, which historically has been sold on carbon markets at an average price of $18 -- 70 times the actual cost of destroying HFC-23.

There are allegations countries are deliberately producing more HFC-23 in order to get paid for destroying it. What a scam...

Al Gore Bashes Idea Climate Change is All About the Money

Al Gore is vehemently denying climate scientists manipulate data to keep the money flowing.

The Hill reported:

Al Gore on Friday bashed the notion that climate scientists are manipulating data for financial gain, a charge levied by global warming skeptics, including GOP White House hopeful Rick Perry.

“This is an organized effort to attack the reputation of the scientific community as a whole, to attack their integrity, and to slander them with the lie that they are making up the science in order to make money,” Gore said in an online interview.

“These scientists don’t make a lot of money. They are comfortable, as they should be, but they don’t make a lot of money. That is not their motivation for doing what they do,” Gore added.

Al Gore forgets to mention the fortune he has made peddling the anthropogenic global warming scam. Penn State Professor Michael Mann, author of the infamous 'hockey stick' graph and implicated in 'Climategate' for 'hiding the decline' got a half a million in Stimulus dollars while he was under investigation by his own university. Of course, they exonerated him. To have done otherwise would have cut off the money.

In the face of rising unemployment and record-breaking deficits, policy experts at the National Center for Public Policy Research are criticizing the Obama Administration for awarding a half million dollar grant from the economic stimulus package to Penn State Professor Michael Mann, a key figure in the Climategate controversy.

“It’s outrageous that economic stimulus money is being used to support research conducted by Michael Mann at the very time he’s under investigation by Penn State and is one of the key figures in the international Climategate scandal. Penn State should immediately return these funds to the U.S. Treasury,” said Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center’s Free Enterprise Project.

The debate about global warming has reached ridiculous proportions and is full of micro-thin half-truths and misunderstandings. I am a scientist who was on the carbon gravy train, understands the evidence, was once an alarmist, but am now a skeptic. Watching this issue unfold has been amusing but, lately, worrying. This issue is tearing society apart, making fools out of our politicians.

Let’s set a few things straight.

The whole idea that carbon dioxide is the main cause of the recent global warming is based on a guess that was proved false by empirical evidence during the 1990s. But the gravy train was too big, with too many jobs, industries, trading profits, political careers, and the possibility of world government and total control riding on the outcome. So rather than admit they were wrong, the governments, and their tame climate scientists, now outrageously maintain the fiction that carbon dioxide is a dangerous pollutant. Read more here.

Now she’s going to work for George Soros to profit off of subsidized green tech.

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $700,000 grant to the Civilians, a New York theater company, to finance the production of a show about climate change. “The Great Immensity,” with a book by Steven Cosson (“This Beautiful City”) and music and lyrics by Michael Friedman (“Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson”), tells the story of Polly, a photojournalist who disappears while working in the rain forests of Panama. The grant is a rare gift to an arts organization from the foundation, a federal agency that pays for science, engineering and mathematics research and education.

Oh My! Another Global Warming Scandal.

The Obama-Gore-Democrats global warming cap-and-trade bills now before Congress are modeled in large part on the Danish CO2 Quotas Register system. There are now investigations into scams worth billions of kroner, which all originate in the Danish quota register. In one scam worth 8 billion krone, nine people have been arrested. CO2 trade is worth about 675 billion kroner globally. A krone is about $0.20 at current exchange rates.

A new poll by the Pew Research Center has found only 36 percent of poll respondents believe in anthropogenic global warming.

CEI Releases Climate Science Warming Study Censored by EPA

The nonprofit group, Competitive Enterprise Institute, earlier released the internal EPA emails indicating an 'inconvenient' global warming study was being suppressed by the Obama administration prior to the House vote on Waxman-Markey. Now, they are releasing the full text of the report. This report finds that EPA is relying on outdated research and is ignoring major new developments. Under the direction of the Obama administration, EPA is now participation in the biggest scam in the history of mankind.

The report finds that EPA, by adopting the United Nations’ 2007 “Fourth Assessment” report, is relying on outdated research and is ignoring major new developments. Those developments include a continued decline in global temperatures, a new consensus that future hurricanes will not be more frequent or intense, and new findings that water vapor will moderate, rather than exacerbate, temperature.

New data also indicate that ocean cycles are probably the most important single factor in explaining temperature fluctuations, though solar cycles may play a role as well, and that reliable satellite data undercut the likelihood of endangerment from greenhouse gases. Global warming is the biggest scam ever perpetrated by mankind. If the Senate passes Waxman-Markey (cap and trade), this scam will cost Americans trillions of dollars.

'Inconvenient' Polar Bear Report Suppressed at Meeting of Polar Bear Specialist Group

The lengths the anthropogenic global warming 'cult' will go to in order to suppress the truth knows no bounds. They are now suppressing a polar bear because it does not support their global warming scam.

Hamas Made $800 Million in Smuggling Tunnel Investment Scam

Ever wonder how Hamas was funding their war against Israel? One way is by scamming money from Palestinians. Of course, they have always misused foreign aid. Arutz Sheva reported:

Hamas raked in $800 million from Gaza residents who invested in smuggling tunnels but lost most of their money to the ruling terrorist organization, Fatah has charged.

The Palestine Media Center, a branch of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), accused the terrorist organization of forcing contributors to sign documents stating that they received all of their money although Hamas retuned only 16 percent of the funds. The document also includes a pledge that the investors will not sue.

The money was supposed to be invested in two companies that Hamas set up in Egypt and Turkey after the coup two years ago. They money was invested in trading cigarettes, fuel and commodities, including animals, all of which were smuggled in tunnels between Egypt and Gaza.

Hamas previously had denied the scheme but now has admitted to it after individuals started looking for their money, the PLO media reported.

The rival Fatah faction, headed by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, also has charged Hamas recently received 50 ambulances from European countries and immediately painted them black, removed medical equipment and put them into service for its army.

Al Gore lies about profit from global warming scam(video)

Rep. Blackburn quizzed Al Gore about his profit motive for promoting global warming. He claims, "Every penny I have made, I have put into a nonprofit." Also, Al Gore said, "If you believe the reason I have been working on this issue for 30 years is greed, you don't know me." Al Gore has donated the proceeds from the movie and book to a nonprofit, but he has definitely gotten rich off the global warming scam. He has been charging $175,000 for the same canned global warming speech for years and he has extensive investments in companies benefiting from global warming legislation. When Al Gore left office in 2000, he had a net worth of only about two million dollars. He is now estimated to be worth $100 million. Since he has been focused almost exclusively on global warming for the last eight years, it is disingenuous to claim he donated "every penny" to nonprofits. From Bloomberg.com,

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore left the White House seven years ago with less than $2 million in assets, including a Virginia home and the family farm in Tennessee. Now he's making enough to put $35 million in hedge funds and other private partnerships.

Gore invested the money with Capricorn Investment Group LLC, a Palo Alto, California, firm that selects the private funds for clients and invests in makers of environmentally friendly products, according to a Feb. 1 securities filing. Capricorn was founded by billionaire Jeffrey Skoll, former president of EBay Inc. and an executive producer of Gore's Oscar-winning documentary film on global warming.
