Change: Rich neighborhoods claim de Blasio not snow plowing their streets...
Politics...

Via The NYP:
Huge swaths of the city’s wealthiest neighborhood had been not been plowed by early Tuesday evening, leaving 1-percenters out in the cold, according to the city’s own map of snow-plower activity.
“He is trying to get us back. He is very divisive and political,” said writer and Life-long Upper East Sider and mom Molly Jong Fast of Mayor de Blasio.
“By not plowing the Upper East Side, he is saying, ‘I’m not one of them.’ But we have everyone in this area on the Upper East Side. We have rich people, middle class people, and housing projects. We have it all.”
There appeared to be no snow plowing between East 59th and 79th Streets and between Second and Fifth Avenues.

Global Warming Alert: Moscow sees heaviest snow in a century...
Global warming is getting deep, in Moscow...
Via The Moscow Times:
Via The Moscow Times:
The heaviest snowfall in a century brought Moscow and the surrounding region to a near standstill and left hundreds of people without power, officials said Tuesday.
And with snowfall set to continue at least until the end of the week, the authorities are bracing for more chaos on the roads.
"There hasn't been such a winter in 100 years," Pyotr Biryukov, deputy mayor for residential issues, said Tuesday in comments carried by Interfax. "The snow this year has already reached one and a half times the climatic norm," he said.
The capital has seen 216 centimeters of snow fall since the beginning of winter, Biryukov said.
Average snowfall in Moscow is 152 centimeters a year. Biryukov said the city saw 26 centimeters in the 24 hours preceding his Tuesday afternoon news conference and has seen 36 centimeters since the beginning of February.
The heavy snowfall that struck the city Monday quickly led to chaos on the roads. The Yandex Probki traffic monitoring service reached a full 10 points, and on Monday evening it issued the seldom-seen warning that "it's quicker to walk."
Moscow traffic police said Tuesday that they had counted more than 3,000 minor traffic accidents in the previous 24 hours, far exceeding the daily average for the city.
"There were 3,160 small traffic accidents in Moscow over the past day," a police spokesman said.

Global warming strikes Russia...
They blamed the Snowmageddon in Washington on global warming. I am sure global warming nuts will blame the Snowpocalypse in Russia (more pics at the link) on anthropogenic global warming.
In other news, NASA's resident global warming nut James Hansen has been forced to admit global warming stopped 10 years ago.

Rare October Snow Leaves 2.3 Million Customers Without Power in Northeast (video)
I know this is weather and not climate, but it's hard to spin weather like this as caused by man-made CO2 induced warming. I am sure some "warmist" somewhere is making that case this morning.
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- An unseasonably early snowstorm that blanketed parts of states from Maryland to Maine, knocking out power to millions and snarling air and highway travel, was forecast to slowly move north out of New England and officials warned it could be days before many see electricity restored.
The heavy, wet October snow, falling atop leaf-laden trees and driven by frigid, gusting winds, brought down branches and power lines and put the Northeast on notice that winter is around the corner. More than 2.3 million customers from Maryland to New England lost power due to the storm by early Sunday.

Feds open criminal investigation against alleged union slowdown of NYC snow clean up
If these allegations are true, these union members should be thrown in jail and their union should be de-certified.
(NY Post) The feds have opened a criminal investigation into allegations that city employees conspired to paralyze the city during last week's blizzard by failing to remove the snow, authorities confirmed today.
The probe launched by the Brooklyn US Attorney's Office comes in response to City Councilman Dan Halloran (R-Queens) revelations to The Post last week that sanitation workers told him they were involved in a work slowdown, sources told The Post.

Flashback: East Anglia Climate Scientist Predicts Snowfall a Thing of the Past in Britain
Remember the CRU at East Angelica in Britain? They were at the center of the
However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become "a very rare and exciting event".The truth is Britain is facing a second cold and snowy winter in a row.
"Children just aren't going to know what snow is," he said.
The effects of snow-free winter in Britain are already becoming apparent. This year, for the first time ever, Hamleys, Britain's biggest toyshop, had no sledges on display in its Regent Street store. "It was a bit of a first," a spokesperson said.

Video: Democrats Waxing Eloquent in the Past on Little Snow Proving "Global Warming"
In the past, Democrat lawmakers waxed eloquent about how Global Warming was proved by the warmer winters and little snow that had been experienced in recent years. Of course, somehow the story has now changed to massive snow supports global warming or something.

Eastern US hit with record snow storm (video)
FOX News reported:
The snow was falling too quickly in the nation's capital for crews to keep up, and officials begged residents to stay home and out of the way so that roads might be cleared in time for everyone to return to work Monday. The usually traffic-snarled roads were mostly barren, and Washington's familiar sites and monuments were covered with nearly 2 feet of snow.
