No evidence of guilt here. (snark) If you have watched very many episodes of 'The First 48,' you know when the suspects lawyers up, they are almost always guilty and that is one lawyer, not 5. It is shocking the FBI let Cheryl Mills attend. Mills was involved in sending Hillary Clinton emails that are now classified. Also, the name of one of Clinton's lawyers is redacted. How is that classified information?

Ruh-Roh! "There is potential criminal activity" relating to nondisclosure of Lois Lerner emails
Lock'em up and throw away the key.
Via The Hill:
Via The Hill:
The IRS initially told lawmakers that emails from Lerner, the former official at the heart of the Tea Party targeting scandal, were lost. But many Lerner emails were found despite claims from officials that they were not backed up.
"There is potential criminal activity," Timothy Camus, the deputy inspector general for investigations, told the House Oversight Committee at a late Thursday hearing, according to reports.Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George and Camus, his deputy, told the Oversight panel they were also working with recovered hard drives from IRS email servers that could contain additional emails. But it is unclear whether that data can be recovered.
The investigators learned earlier this month that there were over 400 additional back tapes that may contain Lerner's emails from a crucial period in 2011. According to reports, the IG's office was not notified about those backups, which took them only two weeks to find.
The officials learned about the back-up tapes after demanding additional documents that IRS had not initially shared. One of those documents made clear that there were hundreds of other tapes.
“We were following up on our initial interviews, we realized we were missing a document. When we obtained that document and reviewed it, we realized that there were an additional population of tapes that had been unaccounted for,” Camus told lawmakers.

Feds open criminal investigation against alleged union slowdown of NYC snow clean up
If these allegations are true, these union members should be thrown in jail and their union should be de-certified.
(NY Post) The feds have opened a criminal investigation into allegations that city employees conspired to paralyze the city during last week's blizzard by failing to remove the snow, authorities confirmed today.
The probe launched by the Brooklyn US Attorney's Office comes in response to City Councilman Dan Halloran (R-Queens) revelations to The Post last week that sanitation workers told him they were involved in a work slowdown, sources told The Post.

Team Obama Shuts Down ACORN Corruption Investigation

Why is this not surprising? Judicial Watch has obtained FBI documents from the FBI that reference the Obama administration's decision to shutdown the the investigation into ACORN's voter fraud. This shouldn't be surprising. Team Obama didn't want to prosecute the Black Panthers for voter intimidation either.
From Judicial Watch:
The documents reference serious allegations of corruption and voter registration fraud by ACORN as well as the Obama administration’s decision to shut down a criminal investigation without filing criminal charges....
However, the Obama Justice Department, while noting that ACORN had engaged in “questionable hiring and training practices,” closed down the investigation in March 2009, claiming ACORN broke no laws.

It is a good time to be a Democrat accused of corruption

The Department of Justice has dropped the investigation into the "pay for play" allegations against New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson. The decision was made in Washington.
From Hot Air:
What do Bill Richardson and the New Black Panther Party have in common? Both got let off the hook by Attorney General Eric Holder and the Obama Department of Justice. Holder, who recently announced a push to investigate and potentially prosecute CIA interrogators, will not prosecute the governor of New Mexico for his pay-for-play activities, which scotched his nomination for Secretary of Commerce:
New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and former high-ranking members of his administration won’t be criminally charged in a yearlong federal investigation into pay-to-play allegations involving one of the Democratic governor’s large political donors, someone familiar with the case said.
The decision not to pursue indictments was made by top Justice Department officials, according to a person familiar with the investigation, who asked not to be identified because federal officials had not disclosed results of the probe.
“It’s over. There’s nothing. It was killed in Washington,” the person told The Associated Press.

John Edwards accused of using campaign money to cover up Rielle Hunter affair

Reportedly, John Edwards is being investigated for using campaign money to cover up the Rielle Hunter affair. Rielle Hunter was a videographer who worked for the Edwards campaign. She later had a child that some say belongs to John Edwards. Edwards eventually admitted to the affair, but denies paternity. The Daily News reports:
The feds are investigating whether former Sen. John Edwards broke any laws - besides those of decency - when he cheated on his dying wife with a campaign staffer.
The US attorney apparently wants to know if the 2008 Democratic presidential candidate paid off mistress Rielle Hunter by siphoning cash from his campaign war chest or programs he set up to help the poor.
Hunter gave birth to a daughter in February 2008, just as the affair was hitting the headlines. Her sister claimed the child is Edwards' and that he paid to keep the unemployed videographer away from reporters.

I am surprised he had any money left over after buying hair care products.

Illinois Senate tells Rod Blagojevich to not let the door hit him in the butt on the way out

Personally, I am going to miss this guy. He epitomizes the worst of Democratic politics. He has been an embarrassment to Democrats in general and the State of Illinois. Well, Democrats anyway. He is just following a long tradition of corrupt politicians in Illinois. Wait a minute. Doesn't Barack Obama hail from the State of Illinois?

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald
Since arresting Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald has renewed interest in convicted fundraiser Tony Rezko's part in the purchase of Barack Obama's Chicago mansion, according to a former real estate analyst who says he was interviewed by the federal prosecutor in the past 10 days.
Kenneth J. Conner told WND he was interviewed by investigators from Fitzgerald's office regarding the purchase of the Obama mansion and the adjacent vacant lot that Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased simultaneously. As WND reported last week, Connor filed a civil complaint in October with the Illinois Circuit Court in Cook County alleging he was fired by Mutual Bank of Harvey, Ill., because he objected to land appraisals submitted on behalf of the Rezkos and the Obamas, with the complicity of the bank...

OJ finds out today how long he will spend in the slammer

I am hoping for life. In my opinion, this guy is a psychopath and should not be playing golf in South Florida. He deserves to be in a prison cell for the rest of his life. I have heard that this judge is known as a hanging judge. The minimum OJ could get is thought to be six years.
Update: OJ was sentenced and could serve up to 33 years. Finally, the justice system works. Story here.
O.J. Simpson could get 6 years, 18 years -- or life
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- Former football great O.J. Simpson, convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping, deserves leniency in sentencing as he is a first-time offender who showed no criminal intent, his attorney says in court papers.
O.J. Simpson should receive a six-year sentence in a 2007 hotel room confrontation, his attorney says.

Attorney Gabriel Grasso argued that Simpson should receive the minimum sentence, six years.
Grasso acknowledged in court papers, "Clearly Simpson was not using good judgment" during a 2007 hotel room confrontation over sports memorabilia.
Simpson could receive a maximum life sentence from Judge Jackie Glass on Friday. A pre-sentencing report recommended an 18-year sentence.
On October 3, a jury convicted Simpson, 61, and co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart of 12 charges, including conspiracy to commit a crime, robbery, assault and kidnapping with a deadly weapon. Full story here.

Indictments by rogue prosecutor of Vice-President Cheney dismissed

A judge slaps down the lunatic left wing prosecutor who indicted VP Dick Cheney and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. This moron used his last few days in office to indict the VP and AG for prisoner abuse. The judge told him to knock it off. It is a shame when the people in charge of our legal system use it to make political statements. Actions like these destroy peoples faith and trust in the system.
Indictments against Cheney, Gonzales dismissed
By CHRISTOPHER SHERMAN, Associated Press Writer Christopher Sherman, Associated Press Writer – Tue Dec 2, 12:19 am ET
RAYMONDVILLE, Texas – A judge dismissed indictments against Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales on Monday and told the southern Texas prosecutor who brought the case to exercise caution as his term in office ends.
Willacy County District Attorney Juan Angel Guerra had accused Cheney and the other defendants of responsibility for prisoner abuse. The judge's order ended two weeks of sometimes-bizarre court proceedings.
Guerra is leaving office at the end of the month after soundly losing in his March primary election.
"I suggest on behalf of the law that you not present any cases to the grand jury involving these defendants," Administrative Judge Manuel Banales said in court while ruling that eight indictments against Cheney, Gonzales and others were invalid.
He also set a Dec. 10 hearing on whether to disqualify Guerra from those cases. Read more here.
