Is Obama planning to have Portuguese for dinner?
Obama has a second dog. It's a Portuguese Water Dog.

Sunny, welcome to Washington.
The White House revealed Monday that first dog Bo has been joined by another Portuguese Water Dog, this one named Sunny. Bo was adopted in 2009, shortly after the Obamas moved into the White House.
From the official post:
“Sunny was born in Michigan in June 2012, and arrived at the White House today. Just like Bo, she’s a Portuguese Water Dog, which works great for the Obamas because of allergies in their family. Sunny is the perfect little sister for Bo – full of energy and very affectionate – and the First Family picked her name because it fit her cheerful personality.”

Obama spares Bo from the dinner plate and puts him in a campaign ad
Let's hope Bo manages to escape before the campaign ends.
Via WaPo:
Via WaPo:
One Internet ad starts with a two-toned blue background, like dozens of other pro-Obama spots. Then the furry star pops into the frame, tongue out and ready to frolic. “Join Pet Lovers for Obama,” the ad implores.
The unlikely pitchman is Bo, the White House family pet, who may well be the first “first dog” to emerge as a central player in a presidential reelection campaign.
Political pets have long attracted inordinate attention, from then-Sen. Richard M. Nixon’s dog, Checkers — the focus of an early 1950s scandal that slowed his political ascent — to Bill Clinton’s adopted stray cat, Socks. In 2004, George W. Bush’s campaign put together a tongue-in-cheek video for the Republican National Convention seeking advice from Barney, Bush’s Scottish terrier, on how to attract the “canine vote.”
But Obama appears to be breaking ground by featuring his Portuguese water dog so prominently in official campaign advertisements and fundraising efforts, part of a broader focus on the president’s family.
Pro-Obama Internet ads featuring Bo, which have run steadily in recent months, urge voters to“Bark for Barack” by donating to the campaign. Official “Pet Lovers for Obama” pages on Facebook, Pinterest and other social media sites feature pictures of the president and his dog and invite supporters to share their own pet photos.

NY Times hits 50th op-ed on Romney 'dog on roof 'story
Obama would never drive with his dog on the roof. It ruins the taste of the meat. /snark

Mitt Romney is a current and former candidate for the Republican Party Presidential nomination and the former Governor of Massachusetts.
Gail Collins is a journalist who writes a twice-weekly op-ed column for the New York Times.
Gail Collins is obsessed by the fact that Mitt Romney once drove to Canada with the family dog strapped to the roof of the car, and has mentioned this fact almost 50 times in print.
Current Tally: 56 (50 op-ed columns, 6 blog “conversations” with David Brooks)
Last updated: 26/4/12 — We’ve had to wait a while, but finally we have the 50th op-ed mention of the dog on the roof of the car!

New York Times covers Romney 'dog on roof' story for the 29th time
There is no agenda here. Everyone please move along...
Via NewsBusters:
Wednesday’s New York Times devoted a short “Caucus” article, “‘Seamus on the Roof’ Prompts Howls of Protest,” to a mocking protest against Mitt Romney by a “dozen people” representing the canine community, insulted by Romney's treatment of family dog Seamus, who he once strapped to the roof of the family station wagon on vacation. (The Times loves tiny liberal protests, but manages to completely ignore enormous conservative ones, such as those involving tens of thousands of pro-life activists marching in D.C.)
Columnist Gail Collins will be happy, given she is the media’s lead point-person on crate-gate, having mentioned the incident 28 times in her column through December 2011.

Proof Dogs are Great Judges of Character

The Libyan Mission in New York rolled out the red carpet for dictator Moammar Khadafy. Maggie the dog expressed the feelings of many Americans by promptly taking a pee on the red carpet. Irritated Libyan officials were forced to cut away a section. Someone give that dog a treat.
The NY Daily News reported:
A politically incorrect pooch delivered a stream of consciousness protest Saturday as Libyan officials rolled out the red carpet for dictator Moammar Khadafy.
Maggie the dog was out for a walk when she responded to the pomp by taking a pee on the lush rug outside the Libyan Mission - a gesture appreciated by many New Yorkers with little use for the notorious colonel.
"The dog had excellent taste," said Mark Birnbaum, 57, a Mission neighbor who watched the whole thing. "She's a sweetheart."...

Senior Obama adviser refers to Miss California as a dog on NPR. The loony liberal audience loved it. He was very mistaken. Carrie Prejean is a "10" in more ways than one.
