NPR: Boston Marathon bombing might be some right-winger inspired by Hitler's birthday or something...

Talk about pulling it about of you know where...

Via Revealing Politics:
[A]ccording to NPR Counterterrorism Correspondent Dina Temple Raston, who spoke with officials about the Boston attacks, “April is a big month for antigovernment and right-wing individuals.” What makes this such a good month for attacking innocent Americans? Apparently, April 20th is the anniversary of the Columbine shootings and it is Hitler’s birthday. Raston went on to explain that the FBI is comparing the Boston attack to the 1996 Olympic bombings in Atlanta due to similarities between the explosive devices.

Interesting: 'Syrian Electronic Army' hacks NPR...

I can't root for either side in this online war...
The Two-Way, NPR.org and some of NPR's Twitter accounts were hacked late Monday by an organization that's said to support Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime, as this statement from NPR reports:
"Late Monday evening, several stories on the NPR website were defaced with headlines and text that said 'Syrian Electronic Army Was Here.' Some of these stories were distributed to and appeared on NPR Member Station websites. We have made the necessary corrections to those stories on NPR.org and are continuing to work with our Member Stations. Similar statements were posted on several NPR Twitter accounts. Those Twitter accounts have been addressed. We are closely monitoring the situation."

NPR Host Tweet: "Al Qaeda isn't the same league as Congress when it comes to terrorizing Americans"

Yet another reason to defund NPR...

NPR: "al-Qaida had excellent HR benefits"

Revolt Against Al Qa'ida: A Strategy to Empower Muslims and Collapse International Insurgency

Al-Qaida's obsession with keeping records may be their eventual downfall. We are still waiting to find out what was on Osama's hard drive besides porn. NPR's spin on the story is "al-Qaida had excellent HR benefits." No word if life insurance is among the benefits.
(NPR) - When U.S. commandos stormed Osama bin Laden’s compound earlier this month, they spent much of their time on the ground shoving papers, CDs and thumb drives into huge document bags strung around their necks. That sweep was considered an integral part of the operation, and it confirmed what the intelligence community had long believed: that bin Laden was obsessive about documenting everything.
From its earliest days, al-Qaida leaders insisted on receipts. If fighters were buying a car for an operation, or even disc drives and floppy disks for their computers, they were required to return to base with a precise accounting of everything they had spent.
. . . Al-Qaida “didn’t function as a traditional or typical terrorist organization did,” he says. “It functioned really like a multinational. On the eve of 9/11, for example, the State Department has stated that al-Qaida had 60 offices worldwide. I mean, in essence it was a multinational.”
More proof of its corporate structure: As odd as it sounds, al-Qaida had excellent HR benefits. The seized documents showed that al-Qaida paid an unusual amount of attention to its fighters and their families. Married members were allowed to have seven days of vacation for every three weeks worked. Bachelors got five days off a month.
Married members also got a salary of $108 a month. The pay was smaller for single men and larger if the fighters had more than one wife. Now that the organization has less money and is under such pressure, it is unclear whether the benefits are as generous as they used to be.

DNCC Fundraiser: "Now the Republicans want to control the news."

NPR headquarters

How is cutting funding for NPR controlling the news? NPR has long been a free propaganda arm for the left in this country. They will still have the New York Times and MSNBC.
(The Hill)- The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) circulated a fundraising e-mail to supporters Wednesday in response to the House GOP's decision to hold a vote Thursday to derive public radio of taxpayer funds.

"First, they tried to restrict access to reproductive health care. Then, they proposed catastrophic cuts to teachers, nurses, and researchers," reads the appeal from DCCC Chairman Rep. Steve Israel (N.Y.). "Now the Republicans want to control the news."

Obama opposes cutting funding for Democrat's propaganda arm

This Friday, President Obama defended funding for NPR and PBS. Obama said,
“And that means not just going after Head Start or Corporation for Public Broadcasting. That’s not where the money is...”
Although NPR gets only 2% of it's budget directly from the Federal Government, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting gets about $400 million a year from the government. About $90 million of that money goes to radio stations. NPR gets their government money second hand by charging the public radio stations for programing. NPR has recently been stung in a video where they disparage conservatives and global warming skeptics. Sens. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) have introduced a bill to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. That would save $400 million and cut off Democrats free propaganda arm. President Obama doesn't think that is a significant amount of money?

(Briefing Room) — President Obama defended public broadcasting from cuts on Friday, emphasizing that defunding networks like NPR and PBS would do little to rein in spending.

As Republicans in Congress hope to defund government assistance to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which in turn supports NPR and PBS stations, Obama said the cuts make little sense.

“I think it’s going to be important for us to have a conversation after we get the short-term budget done, about how do we really tackle the problem in a comprehensive way,” Obama said at a press conference on Friday.

Liberal Heartache: Conservative Bashing NPR Executive Fired

This Is NPR: The First Forty Years

This news is too little, too late. Conservative Republicans need to stand their ground and cut off the funding for this liberal propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. The resignation of Ron Schiller will hurt. He was the top fundraiser for NPR.

Via Weekly Standard:
NPR reports that its executive Ron Schiller, who was caught bashing the alleged racism of conservatives and lamenting over the self-perceived Zionist control of newspapers in an undercover video produced by James O’Keefe and associates, has been fired:
“Just last Thursday Ron Schiller announced he would be leaving NPR to take a position at the Aspen Institute in Colorado. He has been commuting from his home in Aspen, at his own expense, during his 18 months on the job. Today, his departure was made effective immediately.”

NPR Executive Compares Anthropogenic Global Warming Skeptics to "Flat Earthers"

According to NPR Executives, if you think the science of global warning isn't settled, you may be a "Flat Earther." Cut off their funding.

The Washington Times reported:
….“I think the challenge in our society now is that we are questioning facts. It’s not opinions we are debating. I mean, what are the facts? Is the world flat? Is that the next question we’re going to debate?” Ms. Liley wonders.

Mr. Schiller chimes in later saying, “The main point here is that it is not our responsibility to present the opinion of a non-scientist through our science desk. All educated scientists accept that climate change as fact. On the political side, however, where it is not accepted as fact, and the fact that debate is happening is news and it’s really important news. And our point of view requires that we cover that debate, if for no other reason than to have Americans understand there are still people who believe that it is not fact.”

Democrats are unhappy Republicans are trying to cut their free propaganda arm

This Is NPR: The First Forty Years

NPR has long pursued a liberal propaganda agenda that closely aligns with the Democratic Party. They receive significant taxpayer funding. Republicans plan to end that outrage, but Democrats are objecting.
(The Hill)- Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.) slammed a budget proposal from House Republicans as an effort to appease “its extremist Tea Party caucus,” pointing to such spending cuts as the defunding of public radio and TV stations.

House Republicans have proposed to cut funding to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which oversees money allocated to public broadcasting stations.

Strict Journalistic Standards? NPR’s Totenberg is ‘Very Afraid’ of Elections

Apparently, NPR doesn't have a problem with correspondents 'being afraid' as long as it is of Republicans and Tea Party candidates winning.

The NPR Funding Lie

Recently, NPR in an anti free speech move, fired Juan Williams for admitting the truth about being nervous while flying with devout Muslims. NPR is an extremely liberal organization that receives funding from taxpayers. With the country $13 trillion in debt, why should taxpayers be funding liberal NPR or a conservative media outlet for that matter. Many years ago, people had few choices for news and information and providing diversity may have been desirable. The facts on the ground have dramatically changed over the last 20 years. Most people have dozens of radio stations, hundreds of cable channels and millions of websites on the Internet to get their information from. Why should overburdened taxpayers be forced to support any media outlet of any type of political leaning? NPR apologists claim the amount of public funding NPR receives is a minuscule 1%~3%. (emphasis mine)
NORAH O'DONNELL: It's about 1-3% that NPR receives in some taxpayer money. Most of NPR is funded through their local stations, through corporations, through the people who like NPR, private donations. They apply for grants and then, to the Corporation For Public Broadcasting, and some of that is federal money [try virtually all], so 1-3% is what they say.

If that is true, why do Democrats fight so hard to keep NPR funding? The reason is simple. It is a lie. A significant portion of NPR funding comes from taxpayers. (emphasis mine- red taxpayer, pink mixed taxpayer/private)
According to information available from the NPR website, local radio station money comes from the following sources:

32.1% Individual contributions

21.1% Business contributions

13.6% University funds

10.1% Corporation for Public Broadcasting funds

9.6% Foundation money

5.6% Federal, state, and local government funds

7.6% Other

It is easy to see NPR receives at least 20% of their funding from taxpayers. Also, since individual and business donations are tax deductible, taxpayers are indirectly footing part of that bill.

After NPR Firing, Juan Williams Lands on His Feet With Shiny New $2 million Contract With FOX News

NPR fired Jaun Williams for making the admission to Bill O'Reilly that it makes him nervous to fly on airplanes with devout Muslims. NPR fired Williams for the comment and claimed the remarks undermined his credibility as a left-wing lunatic news analyst with NPR.

NPR's credibility was undermined a long time ago. Here is a sample video from NPR ridiculing the Tea Party with the offensive "teabag" label.

Juan has landed solidly on his feet after the firing. FOX News stood up for him, gave him an expanded role and a new $2 million contract.

The LA Times reported:
Fox News Chief Executive Roger Ailes handed Williams a new three-year contract Thursday morning, in a deal that amounts to nearly $2 million, a considerable bump up from his previous salary, the Tribune Washington Bureau has learned. The Fox News contributor will now appear exclusively and more frequently on the cable news network and have a regular column on FoxNews.com.

“Juan has been a staunch defender of liberal viewpoints since his tenure began at Fox News in 1997,” Ailes said in a statement, adding a jab at NPR: “He’s an honest man whose freedom of speech is protected by Fox News on a daily basis.”

NPR Poll Finds Bad News For Democrats

NPR has polled vulnerable congressional swing districts and found a strong ant-incumbent and anti-democrat trend. Here is how NPR defines these swing districts.
For this poll, Bolger and Greenberg chose the districts where incumbents are considered the most vulnerable, and, in the case of open seats, the ones most likely to switch party control in November. Sixty are currently held by Democrats — many of whom won these seats even when voters in the same district preferred Republican John McCain for president in 2008. The other 10 districts are the flip side — held by Republicans in the House, even though their voters went for Barack Obama in 2008.

They found grim news for Democrats.

As you can see from the above chart, voters prefer Republican candidates in the 60 Democratic swing districts by a margin of 47 to 42. In Republican swing districts, voters prefer Republicans by a margin of 53 to 37. The 10 traditionally GOP swing districts look solid for Republicans. The 60 traditionally Democrat swing districts look very shaky for Democrats. Poll details here.

Obama advisor David Axelrod made reference to Miss California Carrie Prejean as a dog(audio)

Senior Obama adviser refers to Miss California as a dog on NPR. The loony liberal audience loved it. He was very mistaken. Carrie Prejean is a "10" in more ways than one.

David Axelrod: Prejean Is a Dog(video via YouTube)

Classy. David Axelrod compares Carrie Prejean to a dog.
On NPR's Wait Wait . . . Dont Tell Me senior Obama advisor David Axelrod made reference to Miss California Carrie Prejean as a dog.
