Optics: Obama takes a break from fundraising...

I'll bet Ebola doesn't force Obama to cancel any golf tee times.

Via The Hill:
President Obama scrapped his scheduled trip to Rhode Island and New York on Thursday to continue monitoring the Ebola crisis, the White House announced late Wednesday.
“The President will remain at the White House to follow up on today’s Cabinet meeting on the government’s Ebola response,” the White House said in a statement.
More details about the president’s activities on Ebola will be released on Thursday morning.
The announcement comes after Obama canceled a campaign trip to New Jersey and Connecticut Wednesday to meet with Cabinet members after a second Texas hospital worker was diagnosed with Ebola.
He pledged the federal government would adopt a “much more aggressive” response.
The administration has so far declined to impose a travel ban on flights from the West African nations where the Ebola outbreak started and has proved most pernicious.

Fundraiser-in-Chief Barack Obama has attended 49 fundraisers this year...

It's the only thing Obama is really good at...

Via Capitol City Project:
Despite many Democratic politicians distancing themselves from President Obama’s low approval ratings and declining his assistance– even in their own backyard– he’s still doing a good amount to help raise money for various groups. So far this year, on average, Obama is attending a fundraiser every 5 days.
According to a new report, Obama has appeared at 49 fundraisers this year through September 15 — even taking the time out of his beloved vacation at Martha’s Vineyard this past August.
“When we looked at Obama’s fundraising in May, we figured out that he was on pace to go to a fundraiser every six days or so. Now, he’s at five-and-a-quarter. That’s thanks to a particularly active summer; the president even attended a fundraiser during his putative vacation on Martha’s Vineyard in August.”

Confirmed: Bill Ayers did have a fundraiser for candidate Barack Obama and Robert Gibbs lied about it...

Bill Ayers has confirmed the 1995 living room fundraiser for State Senate candidate Barack Obama in  this Daily Beast interview.
There was a big hullabaloo during the 2008 presidential election over your relationship to Obama. What is or was your relationship to him?

I brief him every Monday in the White House, and he never listens! No. The truth is exactly what he said and what the campaign said in 2008. David Axelrod said we were friendly, that was true; we served on a couple of boards together, that was true; he held a fundraiser in our living room, that was true; Michelle [Obama] and Bernardine were at the law firm together, that was true. Hyde Park in Chicago is a tiny neighborhood, so when he said I was “a guy around the neighborhood,” that was true. Today, I wish I knew him better and he was listening to me. Obama’s not a radical. I wish he were, but he’s not.
Here is the 2008 interview where Robert Gibb lies to MSNBC host Chris Matthews and the American people.

President Obama’s campaign fundraises off killer heat wave

Shameful...
President Obama’s campaign has issued increasingly urgent fundraising pleas, and the latest appears to capitalize on the record heat sweeping through the mid-Atlantic and Midwest.

“Keep cool while you’re canvassing this summer,” the Obama campaign tweeted Saturday evening. The message contained a link to a $30 Obama tank top. “Our Vote Obama Tank Top is a stylish and fun way to show your support,” the campaign says.

The campaign was pushing the tank tops as record heat combined with a loss of power following storms to create a humanitarian emergency in several states.

Obama drops by Word trade Center before NY fundraisers, sticks taxpayers for part of trip bill...

This is just a blatant attempt to avoid paying campaign expenses by President Obama. Taxpayers should be outraged.
(Daily Mail) — Tonight is set to be a busy night for Barack Obama, as he speaks at not one but two A-list fundraising events in Manhattan.

However, the President’s re-election campaign will not have to pay the full cost of his jaunt to the Big Apple, as he is combining the trip with an official event which will be charged to the taxpayer.

Before the fundraisers, one at Sarah Jessica Parker’s house and one at the five-star Plaza Hotel, Mr Obama scheduled a visit to the World Trade Center site.

Mr Obama has now held more fundraising events than the last six presidents combined, leading to his opponents coining the derisive nickname ‘Campaigner in Chief’.

He frequently combines the events with his official duties, which allows his re-election campaign to defray the President’s travel costs by charging part of them to the public purse.[...]
It is unclear what prompted the President to return to the site on this occasion.

The 99% pony up $40,000 per person at closed Obama fundraisers

The 99% don't have $40,000 per person to blow on Obama's re-election? My bad. I was fooled by team Obama's claim they were for the 99%.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is mingling with donors at two high-dollar fundraising events, aiming to raise about $2 million toward his re-election effort.
The Obama campaign says the president will be meeting with about 25 supporters at each of the fundraisers. The intimate events are being held at an upscale hotel near the White House.
Tickets for both events cost $40,000 per person. The money is split between Obama’s re-election campaign, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties.
The campaign says the fundraisers are closed to the press because Obama is not making formal remarks.
Obama is attending the fundraisers just hours after returning to Washington from a surprise trip to Afghanistan, where he signed a strategic partnership agreement outlining a long-term U.S. commitment to Afghanistan.

President Barack Obama and the one million dollar pizza party

The pizza will be served on silver plates...
(CBS Detroit)President Barack Obama is coming to the Motor City for a $1 million pizza party being thrown for him compliments of Denise Ilitch, daughter of Little Caesars’ founders Mike and Marian Ilitch. Ilitch is opening her home April 18 for the fundraiser where movers and shakers are being asked to pony up thousands to add to his re-election coffer while getting a chance to rub shoulders with the most powerful man on the planet. “I’m honored to have been asked,” by the Obama campaign to host,” Ilitch said of the event she and husband, Jim Scalici, will hold at their Metro Detroit home. She made the comments on “Michigan Matters” when asked about media reports.
When asked what she planned to serve, she said: “Pizza! But, we’ll be serving it on sterling silver plates!”
The price of admission isn’t for those on a budget. $40,000 buys access to the cocktail reception, formal photo with Obama and dinner. $10,000 buys dinner and a photo.

Michelle Obama claims Barack is up late reading Americans letters. Of course, she made this claim in a fundraising email.
In a fundraising e-mail with the heading "up late," Mrs. Obama writes to donors: "Every night in the White House, I see Barack up late poring over briefings, reading your letters, and writing notes to people he's met.

"He's doing that for you," she adds. "Working hard every day to make sure we can finish what we all started together.

"This week, I need you to have his back," says the e-mail. "Will you donate $3 or more to support Barack before Saturday's critical fundraising deadline?"

Yet Another Obama Fundraiser Gets $400 Million Department of Energy (DOE) Loan Guarantee

Green pay for green play?

Via Washington Examiner:
Abound Solar, given a $400 million Department of Energy (DOE) loan guarantee for a project expected to create 400 permanent jobs, receives private financial backing through an investment firm founded by a fundraising bundler for President Obama.
The Sunlight Foundation notes that Bohemian Companies, which was founded by billionaire and Obama bundler Pat Stryker, participated with other companies in the “second institutional equity round of financing” in 2008 for Abound Solar, which recieved $104 million total through that round of financing.
Stryker gave $50,000 to Obama’s inauguration, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, and raised a further $87,000 for the inauguration. Stryker has since donated $35,800 to the 2012 Obama Victory Fund, Sunlight reports.

Abound Solar  makes solar panels. Solyndra made solar panels. The Chinese made solar panels much cheaper than Solyndra. Solyndra went bankrupt and took hundreds of millions of our tax dollars with it. I predict this company will be in bankruptcy within three years.

Bill Ayers 'fesses up on Obama fundraiser (video)

In October 2008, Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs categorically denies Bill Ayers held a fundraiser for candidate Barack Obama.

Three years later, Bill Ayers 'fesses up.

Flashback to April 2008: President Obama tells  ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos during the Democratic primary debate on April 16 in Philadelphia,
Obama: George, but this is an example of what I’m talking about. This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis. And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense, George.

Obama's plans to buy a second term are well underway

Barack and Michelle Obama will attend a combined five fundraisers in one day.
(White House Dossier) — First Lady Michelle Obama will appear at three fundraisers next Thursday, June 30, bringing to seven the number of fundraisers she has held this month.

The heavy schedule of money raising this far out from Election Day suggests that the Obama reelection campaign is going to make frequent use of the first lady, both to raise money and campaign.
By comparison, former First Lady Laura Bush held 13 fundraisers in all of 2003, the year before George W. Bush’s reelection.

Mrs. Obama’s first fundraiser will be at a luncheon in Boston, followed by two early evening fundraisers in Burlington, Vt.

Much of the cost of Mrs. Obama’s travel will be borne by taxpayers since she has an “official” first lady appearance squeezed in between the Boston and Burlington fundraisers — an event “to show appreciation to the Vermont National Guard and their families,” according to the White House.

President Obama also usually has an “official” event to attend when he travels to raise money. Having such an appearance that defrays costs on the itinerary is common practice for presidents when they travel to fundraisers outside of Washington.

Obama himself will appear at two fundraisers next Thursday in Philadelphia, meaning that between them the Obamas will hold forth at five fundraising events in a single day.

DNCC Fundraiser: "Now the Republicans want to control the news."

NPR headquarters

How is cutting funding for NPR controlling the news? NPR has long been a free propaganda arm for the left in this country. They will still have the New York Times and MSNBC.
(The Hill)- The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) circulated a fundraising e-mail to supporters Wednesday in response to the House GOP's decision to hold a vote Thursday to derive public radio of taxpayer funds.

"First, they tried to restrict access to reproductive health care. Then, they proposed catastrophic cuts to teachers, nurses, and researchers," reads the appeal from DCCC Chairman Rep. Steve Israel (N.Y.). "Now the Republicans want to control the news."

Landrieu To Hold A Fundraiser For Harry Reid In Appreciation Of The $300 million 'Louisiana Purchase'

Chicago style politics are coming to Louisiana. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid inserted a $300 million buy-off into his version of Obamacare in order to secure Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu's (D-La) vote Saturday night. She will return the favor by holding a fundraiser for Reid in New Orleans next month.
Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., will host a fundraiser for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., in New Orleans next month, an event that comes on the heels of Reid's assistance getting Louisiana a windfall of Medicaid money in the health care reform bill.
