Congratulations Rahm Emanuel: Chicago has surpassed New York in murders...

Change...

Via WaPo:
The city of Chicago registered more homicides than any city in the nation in 2012, surpassing even New York — despite the fact that the Second City has only one third as many residents as the Big Apple.
In new crime statistics released Monday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation reported 500 murders in Chicago in 2012, up sharply from the 431 recorded in 2011. New York reported 419 murders last year, compared with 515 in 2011.
But residents of Chicago and New York were much less likely to be victims of a homicide than residents of Flint, Mich. Sixty-three murders occurred in 2012 in Flint, a city of 101,632, meaning one in every 1,613 city residents were homicide victims. Detroit, which experienced 386 homicides in 2012, was almost as unsafe; that’s enough murders to account for one in every 1,832 residents.

Demo Dick Durbin: House Republicans should stop acting like “squealing political pigs.”

Dirty Dick once attacked on our military by comparing them to Nazis, Soviets or members of the notorious Pol Pot regime. I guess he let Republicans off easy.

Via The Hill:
Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) told House Republicans to stop acting like “squealing political pigs.”
“We need to act like adults not like squealing political pigs,” Durbin said on the Senate floor Wednesday.
Durbin’s remarks were in reaction to a House Republican announcement that they would advance a government spending bill that defunds ObamaCare — something Democrats have said would lead to a government shut down.

Video: Obama talks up amnesty on Telemundo...

Immigration reform is dead this year, and likely next year, and it's Obama's fault. He has proven time and time again he will re-interpret the law any way it pleases him and his supporters or in some cases, completely ignore the law.  Prime examples are delaying parts of Obamacare without a congressional vote, implementing CO2 regulations without majority congressional support and restricting Second Amendment rights; again without a congressional vote. If Congress passes immigration reform, Obama will ignore or thwart any border security measures, add more illegals to it than were originally intended and likely kill E-Verify to prevent illegal aliens from gaining employment. You can't make a deal as important as immigration reform with an individual who is completely untrustworthy.

Obvious: IRS targeted groups for having anti-Obama materials in their applications or on their websites...

Someone needs to go to prison for this outrageous persecution by the IRS of conservative and Tea Party political groups.  Where is Lois Lerner anyway?

Via USA Today:
Newly uncovered IRS documents show the agency flagged political groups based on the content of their literature, raising concerns specifically about ”anti-Obama rhetoric,” inflammatory language and “emotional” statements made by non-profits seeking tax-exempt status.
The internal 2011 documents, obtained by USA TODAY, list 162 groups by name, with comments by Internal Revenue Service lawyers in Washington raising issues about their political, lobbying and advocacy activities. In 21 cases, those activities were characterized as “propaganda.”
The list provides the most specific public accounting to date of which groups were targeted for extra scrutiny and why. The IRS has not publicly identified the groups, repeatedly citing a provision of the tax code prohibiting it from releasing tax return information. [...]
Five groups were flagged as having “anti-Obama” materials in their applications or on their websites.

The Washington Navy Yard Shooting Isn't About Gun Control. It's About Lunatic Control...

President Obama and democrats would like to use the Navy Yard shooting to revive gun control, but gun control clearly isn't the issue here. Like Newtown shooter Adam Lanza  and Tuscon shooter Jared Lee Loughner, Aaron Alexis appears to have been batsh*t crazy. Apparently, the Navy knew about this. The question isn't how he followed VP Joe Biden's advice and "Bought a Shotgun." The question is how he has a secret security clearance. It's time to revisit the policy of de-institutionalization of the mentally ill.

Via The Smoking Gun:
Six weeks before going on a killing spree at the Washington Navy Yard, Aaron Alexis told Rhode Island police that he was being followed by individuals who were using a "microwave machine" to send vibrations into his body that kept him from falling asleep, according to a bizarre police report.
On August 7, Alexis summoned Newport cops to a Marriott hotel where he was staying. During a 6:30 AM interview, the 34-year-old--who said he was a "naval contractor" who traveled often--told officers that voices were harassing him through a hotel wall, adding that he was fearful he could be harmed.
Alexis explained to police that he had previously gotten into an argument prior to boarding a plane in Virginia, and believed that the person with whom he quarreled had dispatched three individuals “to follow him and keep him awake by talking to him and sending vibrations into his body.” While he had not seen these individuals, Alexis said he “believes they are two black males and a black female.”

Sad Irony: Navy Yard shooter followed Joe Biden's advice....

Liberals and some media were quick to claim the Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis used liberals most hated weapon: the AR-15.

So it takes nine months and two days from Newtown, from 20 dead children and six adults, for someone else to carry the same kind of AR-15 that Adam Lanza carried into Sandy Hook Elementary School into the Washington Navy Yard.
This idiot joined in...

That doesn't not appear to be true.

And from USA Today:
WASHINGTON -- Navy Yard gunman Aaron Alexis cleared a security checkpoint with his contractor ID and carried his shotgun, unassembled, into Building 197 within minutes of starting his bloody rampage Monday, federal investigators said Tuesday.
Investigators revised and refined the details of events at the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters that left 13 people dead, including Alexis, who was shot to death in a showdown with police.
Instead of using an AR-15, Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis followed Joe Biden's advice:
You don't need an AR-15...buy a shotgun, buy a shotgun...

Interesting: Majority of voters OK with a partial government shutdown...

Message to the GOP leadership: Giddy up...

Via Rasmussen:
This helps explain why 53% would rather have a partial government shutdown until Democrats and Republicans can agree on what spending to cut. Thirty-seven percent (37%) would prefer instead that Congress avoid a shutdown by authorizing spending at existing levels as the president has proposed.

Some conservative Republicans in both the House and Senate are refusing to approve a budget unless it slows or stops funding for the health care law, but the president and most congressional Democrats are adamantly opposed to any such cuts. However, 51% of voters favor having a partial government shutdown until Democrats and Republicans agree on what spending for the health care law to cut. Forty percent (40%) would rather avoid a government shutdown by authorizing spending for the health care law at existing levels.
