Priceless: Former Sen. Chris Dodd is threatening to cut off President Obama's Hollywood donations unless he supports anti-piracy legislation

Former Sen. Chris Dodd is now the CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America and Hollywood's top lobbyist. Dodd has his panties in a wad because President Obama dropped his support for SOPA and PIPA.
(FOX News)- Hollywood's top lobbyist and former Sen. Chris Dodd is threatening to cut off campaign funds to President Obama's re-election effort because of anger over the White House appearing to side with tech companies in a bitter fight over anti-piracy legislation.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Dodd fired off a warning to Obama -- his former Senate Democratic colleague in this election year -- "don't take us for granted."

"Candidly, those who count on quote 'Hollywood' for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who's going to stand up for them when their job is at stake," Dodd told Fox News. "Don't ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don't pay any attention to me when my job is at stake."

Dodd, who became CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America after leaving the Senate in 2011, noted the movie "Avatar" was stolen by online pirates 21 million times. Such acts, he said, threaten to decimate his industry. Keep on reading...

Chris Dodd Blames Bush For The Poor Oil Spill Response By Obama

That's right. Democrats don't want to pin any blame on their "messiah." First they blamed BP. Then, they blamed Dick Cheney. Then they tried to get reporters to quit asking so many questions. Now, they have resorted to their emergency fall back plan. Chris Dodd is blaming former President Bush.

RCP reported:
“To lay this at Obama’s doorstep, in light of years and years of regulatory permissiveness when it comes to these kinds of operations occurring — it didn’t occur in the last year and a half,” he said. “I mean, you know that as well as I do. You can’t lay this all at Obama’s door anymore than I can say,” Dodd responded.

Oh, About Those Special Deals Obama Wanted Removed from Health Care Reform

President Barack Obama has said he wants projects helping specific states removed from the health care bill, but political reality is taking over. The "Cornhusker Kickback" may be removed because Senator Nelson has requested it be taken out. Senator's Landrieu of Louisiana, Dodd of Connecticut, Baucus of Montana and Nelson of Florida want to keep their special deals. We can guess the UAW is keeping their special exemption for Michigan too. As part of Obama's 'whatever it takes' strategy, these special deals may be left in the legislation.

FOX News reported:
Axelrod also indicated the White House was backing down on an attempt to get senators to rid the legislation of a number of lawmakers' special deals.

Taking a new position, he said the White House only objects to state-specific arrangements, such as an increase in Medicaid funding for Nebraska, ridiculed as the "Cornhusker Kickback." That's being cut, but provisions that could affect more than one state are OK, Axelrod said...

Another Democrat Jumps Overboard

Even though Connecticut is a blue state, Republicans had a good chance to take Dodd's seat in the next election. Dodd was implicated in the Countrywide VIP mortgage scandal and has been polling very poorly lately.

From the Washington Post:
Embattled Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd (D) has scheduled a press conference at his home in Connecticut Wednesday at which he is expected to announce he will not seek re-election, according to sources familiar with his plans.

Dodd's retirement comes after months of speculation about his political future, and amid faltering polling numbers and a growing sense among the Democratic establishment that he could not win a sixth term. It also comes less than 24 hours after Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) announced he would not seek re-election.

Sen. Dodd Heckled In Connecticut After Obamacare Vote (Video)

A passerby yelled at Senator Dodd:
“You’re not going to get reelected.”

If corruption
doesn't take out Senator Dodd, perhaps his vote to nationalize our health care will.

Joe Biden on Chris Dodd: "Chris is getting the living hell beat out of him"

This is one time most Americans can agree with VP Joe Biden. Polling shows Chris Dodd is in trouble.

TPMDC Reported:
Vice President Biden attended a fund-raiser in Hartford today for Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT), who's facing a tough re-election campaign next year -- and he didn't sound too optimistic about his friend's chances.

"Chris is getting the living hell beat out of him, the living bejesus beat out of him,'' Biden said, according to the pool report. "Why? Because he's being a leader. This is going to be a hell of a race and it's an uphill race, but Chris Dodd will prevail.''
