Donald Trump ratings are Yuuge...

Winning...
With Donald Trump hosting, Saturday Night Live jumped to its biggest overnight rating since 2012.
With Donald Trump hosting, Saturday Night Live jumped to its biggest overnight rating since 2012.
According to NBC, SNL had a whopping 6.6 household rating on Saturday night, easily beating the season’s previous high: the 41st season premiere last month, hosted by Miley Cyrus and with a guest appearance by none other than … Hillary Clinton. In fact, Trump’s overnight rating was 47 percent higher than the Miley/Hillary episode.
The previous high was held by an episode that aired Jan. 7, 2012, hosted by Charles Barkley with musical guest Kelly Clarkson.

Liberal Heartache: MSNBC is having a rating crisis...

Maybe they could actually report the news instead of the heavily filtered and biased contend they currently regurgitate daily.

Via Politico:
It would be hard to imagine a news event better tailored to MSNBC’s Venn diagram of “lean forward” liberals and “place for politics” political junkies. Yet when Hillary Clinton, the Democrats’ presumptive 2016 presidential nominee, held a news conference about her private email use last week — a media frenzy that functioned, albeit inadvertently, as the informal launch to her highly anticipated campaign — less than 13 percent of the total cable news audience was tuned to the network.
The low turnout wasn’t a fluke: Year-to-date, MSNBC’s daytime viewership is down 21 percent overall and 41 percent in the coveted 25-to-54-year-old demographic, putting it in fourth place behind Fox News, CNN and CNN’s sister network HLN. Its prime-time ratings are down 24 percent and 42 percent, respectively. In both daytime and prime time, MSNBC is bringing in its smallest share of the demo since 2005, the year before Keith Olbermann’s scorched-earth admonitions of the Bush administration ushered in the current era of Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz and Al Sharpton.
In a memo to staff in December, MSNBC President Phil Griffin conceded that the network is suffering: “It’s no secret that 2014 was a difficult year for the entire cable news industry and especially for MSNBC,” he wrote. But change was coming, Griffin promised, with “more announcements in the New Year.”

MSNBC ratings imploding...

What took so long?

Via Breitbart:
. . .MSNBC just had its worst three month stretch in nearly 7 years. For Q3 2014, MSNBC is down double digits in total day and primetime viewership. Among total day, A25-54 demo viewers, MSNBC placed fourth, behind FNC, CNN and HLN. In primetime, among total viewers MSNBC was second behind Fox News and ahead of CNN and HLN.
In the all-important, advertiser-coveted 25-54 demo, Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, and Lawrence O’Donnell posted their worst showings… ever.

Liberal Heartache: MSNBC’s flagship program The Rachel Maddow Show hits new ratings low

MSNBC’s flagship program The Rachel Maddow Show is MSNBC's highest rated show, but is 3rd in it's time slot.

Via Free Beacon:
MSNBC’s flagship program The Rachel Maddow Show hit another low in what has been a rough 2013, losing to HLN’s Dr. Drew in Tuesday night’s cable news ratings to take third place in the 9 p.m. time slot.
Maddow, host of the liberal network’s highest-rated show, had just 744,000 viewers, behind Dr. Drew (753,000), who spent the hour discussing the George Zimmerman murder trial, and well behind usual time slot winner Sean Hannity (1,714,000) of the Fox News Channel.

Liberal Heartache: Piers Morgan ratings sink...

Gun control backlash?

Via Deadline Hollywood:
Following what many saw as a preview of what CNN’s mornings might look like with Chris Cuomo and presumptive co-host Erin Burnett, Jeff Zucker’s network-in-progress got more bad ratings news. For the second day in a row, CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight sank to a yearly (2013) low in the prime 25-54 demographic with just 87,000 viewers. PMT is down 27% in total viewers, according to Nielsen data, and down 38% in the demo from its debut on January 17, 2011[...] More here...

Here we go again. Obama is about to get our credit rating downgraded a second time.

President Obama's big spending ways, anti-business stance and record deficits are about to get our credit rating downgraded for an unprecedented second time. Obama is leading us down the path of the European social democracies. We know how that is working out for Greece,Portugal and Italy to mention a few.
(Bloomberg) — The U.S., lacking a plan to contain $1 trillion deficits, faces the prospect of another rating cut in six to 24 months depending on the outcome of November elections, according to John Chambers of Standard & Poor’s.
America has had an AA+ rating with a negative outlook since Aug. 5 when the New York-based unit of McGraw-Hill Cos. stripped the nation of its AAA ranking for the first time, citing the government’s failure to agree on a path to reduce deficits. The U.S. has a one-in-three chance of another downgrade, Chamber said today during an S&P sponsored Webcast.
“What the U.S. needs is not so much a short-term fiscal tightening, but it has to have a credible medium-term fiscal plan,” said Chambers, managing director of sovereign ratings. “That is going to have to say something about entitlements, and that is probably going to have to say something about revenues.”
Bond investors ignored the downgrade, driving Treasury yields to the lowest levels in history, amid concern the U.S. economy was stalling and as Europe’s debt crisis intensified. Treasuries have returned 3.9 percent since the rating cut and gained 9.8 percent last year, the debt’s best performance since 2008, according to Bank of America Merrill Lynch index data.
“I don’t think anything is going to happen between now and the election in November,” Chambers said.

Meltdown: Keith Olbermann has lost nearly a third of his viewers in four months

Al Gore needs to ask for a refund on the reported $10 million a year Olbermann receives as salary.
(Bnet) — Keith Olbermann is not in the witness protection program, but he might as well be. His show on Al Gore’s Current TV (America’s least watched network) has lost nearly a third of its viewers in four months.
Pretty impressive result for $10 million a year. That’s just his salary.
Countdown with Keith Olbermann was a major draw when it was on MSNBC. On January 21, the network took a big hit when Olbermann announced on air that that would be his last show for them. Then in June, Current launched Olbermann and Countdown.
It was no surprise that Olbermann drew a big audience for its early shows — averaging 106,000 viewers a night. Unfortunately, by August it was down to 79,000. Last month’s numbers were even worse. Olbermann’s average was down to 46,000 viewers and was in no danger of coming close to breaking into the top 30 cable TV news shows. None of the top 30 is all that impressive in terms of audience. For the third quarter of this year No.1 Bill O’Reillyhad 2.8 million total viewers, while No. 30 — the 12 AM showing of Dr. Drew on HLN — had 435,000.

Liberal Heartache: Keith Olbermann’s “Countdown” Ratings Are Tanking

Keith Olbermann’s “Countdown” ratings are down 50% from debut. Only 46,000 adults in the prime target age demographic tuned in to an average Olbermann show.
(NYDN) — Keith Olbermann’s “Countdown” has experienced quite a comedown since leaving MSNBC.
After debuting to promising ratings on the Current cable network in late June, Olbermann’s political commentary show posted its lowest numbers yet the week of Sept 5–11.

Nielsen figures provided by industry sources also show that, based on weekly averages of the program’s performance on Current, “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” has never done better than its debut week on Al Gore’s hard-to-find cable network. (It did come close on Aug. 30, racking up 310,000 total viewers; 102,000 of them adults 25–54.)

For the week of Sept. 5–11, “Countdown” attracted an average 142,000 total viewers and an average 46,000 adults aged 25–54 — the demographic category that advertisers consult when buying time on cable network news programs.

Those figures are less than half of the ratings “Countdown” posted in its debut week on Current. The show averaged 319,000 total viewers that first week; 114,000 in the key 25–54 demographic.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch.

FOX News Takes Competitors to the Cleaners

Can you say dominate? FOX News outdrew MSNBC, HLN, and CNN combined.

(Business Insider)- It was also the only news channel to hit the top 10 in cable networks, ranking fourth in Primetime behind USA, ESPN and TNT.

Want some context for that? Fox News’ total viewers for the year exceeded MSNBC, HLN, and CNN combined.

That dominance came primarily at the expense of CNN which lost 29% of its total viewership in 2010...

Pelosi Achieves Same Negative Rating as BP

Since BP almost destroyed the Gulf of Mexico, achieving the same negative rating is quite an accomplishment. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was up to the job.

The Washington Examiner reported:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's negative ratings have hit an all-time high in the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. A full 50 percent of those surveyed have a somewhat or very negative impression of Pelosi, while just 22 percent have a somewhat or very positive impression of her.

Pelosi's negative rating is precisely the same as oil giant BP, which has taken a public relations beating in the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill.

CNN Continues Ratings Death Spiral

CNN's main hosts have lost half their audience in the last year.

CNN continued what has become a precipitous decline in ratings for its prime-time programs in the first quarter of 2010, with its main hosts losing almost half their viewers in a year.
CNN hasn't lost it's sense of humor.
CNN executives have steadfastly said that they will not change their approach to prime-time programs, which are led by hosts not aligned with any partisan point of view.

They must be referring to that huge nonpartisan Larry King.

White House Pushes FOX News Ratings Up 8%.

Thanks, President Obama. Now more Americans will learn the news your state controlled media won't report.

But the White House's stance also gave extra lift to the network at a time when it is on track to record its best ratings year ever. This year, Fox News has averaged nearly 1.2 million viewers across all its programming, a 16% increase over the same period last year, according to Nielsen. In the two weeks since aides to President Obama took after the coverage, the audience has been 8% larger than the previous two weeks.

Advertiser's Boycott Boosting Glenn Beck's Ratings

The is an organized attempt by the left to get advertisers to boycott Glenn Beck. There has been some success in this attempt. Viewers have responded differently. Glenn Beck's ratings are through the roof!
Well now the cable news rankings are out and Fox News was the second most-watched basic cable channel in primetime last week, only behind USA. FNC was 5th overall in Total Day viewership.

MSNBC was 24th in primetime and 32nd in Total Day. CNN ranked 26th in prime and 23rd in Total Day.

Meanwhile, "The Glenn Beck Program", which airs out of primetime at 5pmET, had its highest rated week ever among Households (1,907,000) and Total Viewers (2,409,000), and second best week in the A25-54 demo (682,000).
