Hero: 56-year old woman in India fights leopard to death with hand tools...

Bad to the bone...

Via The NY Post:
A 56-year old woman has won a fierce battle with a leopard in India.
Kamla Devi, from Uttarakhand, was attacked while working in a field near her village, the Hindustan Times reports.
She fought the big cat with a sickle and axes and sustained bites and fractures in the attack.
Devi told reporters she was terrified at first but discovered her courage and promised herself it was not her “last day” on Earth.
“I fought head on with it for almost half an hour. Then I came to know it was dead,” she told local reporters.
Doctors were reportedly surprised she had survived the attack.
Devi’s fight comes after a group leopards recently killed another woman in the area.

Religion of Peace: Foreigners wearing mini-skirts cause terror attack

I am beginning to think Jihadists are gay...
Foreigners wearing mini-skirts and entering Jama Masjid in Central Delhi prompted Indian Mujahideen (IM) co-founder Yasin Bhatkal and his accomplices to plan conspiracy for terror attack and to commit terror strike at the historic mosque in September 2010, the Delhi Police has told before a city court.
In its charge sheet filed against Bhatkal and his aide Asadullah Akhtar, the Special Cell of Delhi Police said the accused considered wearing of short clothes by the foreigners as unIslamic and due to this they decided to strike at gate no-3 of the mosque. After the recee carried out by Yasin, it was decided that gate no.3 of the Jama Masjid was suitable for shootout as foreigners were found frequenting the place and their wearing of mini skirts/ short clothes while entering the Jama Masjid compound was considered by these terrorists as un-Islamic, the police said.
Bhatkal and Akhtar were charge sheeted in connection with the September 19, 2010 Jama Masjid terror attack case in which two Taiwanese tourists had sustained bullet injuries. Police said that two bikers had fired at tourists at the gate no-3 of Jama Masjid and Taiwanese, Ku-Ze-Wei and Ko-chiange, had sustained injuries.

Revenge: India cuts off U.S. diplomats cheap booze to protest the strip search of their diplomat...

Actually, it has been reported the strip search included a body cavity search. Our law enforcement personel have become thugs with no common sense. If Obama ever visits India again, they should return the favor.

Via NBC News:
India has blocked perks such as cheap alcohol and food imports at the U.S. Embassy after one of its top diplomats was arrested on fraud charges and strip-searched in New York City.
Deputy Consul General Devyani Khobragade has been accused of submitting false documents to obtain a work visa for her Manhattan housekeeper, an Indian national whom she allegedly paid less than $3 an hour.
The 39-year-old diplomat's arrest has sparked a storm between the U.S. and ally India, with lawmakers in Delhi calling her alleged treatment "despicable" and "barbaric."

Humorous: Oprah gets slammed in India

It's about time Oprah got her comeuppance. Kudos to India.
Oprah Winfrey's special program on India drew the ire of several Indian media outlets on July 21, who called the show "myopic, unaware, ignorant and gauche." The program was featured in the "Oprah's Next Chapter" series, which has the long-time talk show star traipsing around outside the studio for "enlightening conversations with newsmakers, celebrities, thought leaders and real-life families."

Her foray in India aired in the United States in April but premiered in India this weekend. The two-episode special featured a trip to some Mumbai slums, the Jaipur Literature Festival and the glitzy homes of Bollywood stars.

Winfrey was criticized for reinforcing exotic and backward stereotypes of India, particularly when she commented that she heard that Indians "still" eat with their hands.  "I don't know what people in America are eating their hot dogs, pizzas and tacos with but perhaps Oprah's home has evolved cutlery for all that," commented Rajyasree Sen, a columnist on Firstpost, an online Indian newspaper.

Indiana to become first state to defund Planned Parenthood

This could become a trend.
Indianapolis (AP) — Indiana is poised to become the first state to cut off all government funding for the Planned Parenthood organization, providing a significant victory for the anti-abortion movement but posing a political predicament for the state’s governor, Mitch Daniels, as he considers running for president.

The Indiana House is expected to vote as soon as today to cut off the $3 million in federal money the state distributes to the organization for family planning and health programs. The Senate approved the measure earlier this month.

Obama is very happy to meet a communist in India

He should be used to the experience after meeting with the Democratic caucus in Washington.

New Delhi: The Left may have staged protests during his visit but US President Barack Obama was “glad” to meet an Indian communist leader last evening.

“I am glad to meet an Indian communist. I am told that communists have been part of the (Indian) political mainstream,” Obama told CPM Politburo member Sitaram Yechury at the Rashtrapati Bhawan banquet as they were introduced and both shook hands.

Bizarre: Indian police hold pigeon under armed guard after it was caught allegedly spying for Pakistan

You just can't make stuff like this up...

AFP reported:

NEW DELHI — Indian police are holding a pigeon under armed guard after it was caught on an alleged spying mission for arch rivals and neighbours Pakistan, media reported on Friday.

The white-coloured bird was found by a local resident in India's Punjab state, which borders Pakistan, and taken to a police station 40 kilometres (25 miles) from the capital Amritsar.

The pigeon had a ring around its foot and a Pakistani phone number and address stamped on its body in red ink...

Officials have directed that no-one should be allowed to visit the pigeon, which police say may have been on a "special mission of spying".

Does water-boarding work on Pigeons?

India Smacks Down the IPCC

India has decided to create it's own climate change panel because they can't trust the UN's IPCC even though it's run by their own scientist Dr R.K Pachauri.

The Indian government has established its own body to monitor the effects of global warming because it "cannot rely" on the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the group headed by its own leading scientist Dr R.K Pachauri.

India and China Bail on Copenhagen Accord

India and China have had time to rethink the Copenhagen Accord and they aren't interested in signing.

The Hindu reported:

An Indian official said that though the government had been thinking of signing the accord because it “did not have any legal teeth and would be good diplomatically”; it felt irked because of repeated messages from both UN officials and developed countries to accede to it.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has written to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon seeking a number of clarifications on the implications of the accord that India ...

EPA Admits Cap and Trade Won’t Work W/O China and India

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.)got EPA Administrator Jackson to admit that Cap and Trade by the US alone would have no impact. We need China and India to join. They aren't interested.

From The Heritage Foundation:
Moreover, it should be a red flag when the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) admits cap and trade won’t work. At yesterday’s hearing before the Senate Environment Public Works Committee,

EPA Administrator Jackson confirmed an EPA analysis showing that unilateral U.S. action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions would have no effect on climate. Moreover, when presented with an EPA chart depicting that outcome, Energy Secretary Steven Chu said he disagreed with EPA’s analysis.

“I believe the central parts of the [EPA] chart are that U.S. action alone will not impact world CO2 levels,” Administrator Jackson said.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) presented the chart to both Jackson and Secretary Chu, which shows that meaningful emissions reductions cannot occur without aggressive action by China, India, and other developing countries. “I am encouraged that Administrator Jackson agrees that unilateral action by the U.S. will be all cost for no climate gain,” Sen. Inhofe said. “With China and India recently issuing statements of defiant opposition to mandatory emissions controls, acting alone through the job-killing Waxman-Markey bill would impose severe economic burdens on American consumers, businesses, and families, all without any impact on climate.”

Bill Gates throws Americans under the bus

Hard economic times are forcing job cuts at many businesses. Most Americans understand that; even if they deplore it. This economic downturn has even hit Microsoft. They are downsizing 5000 jobs. Of the 1400 they cut immediately, 873 were in the Puget Sound area where the company is headquartered. None of the cuts are going to be in India. Can you think of a better reason to avoid Microsoft products when possible?

Microsoft to axe 5,000, no job cuts in India
Times of India ^

"Microsoft will eliminate up to 5,000 jobs in R&D, HR, marketing, sales, finance, legal, and IT over the next 18 months, including 1,400 jobs today," the company said in a statement.

The layoff, however, would not be impacting the Indian operations. "It's not going to impact us. No job cuts in India," a Microsoft India spokesperson said in New Delhi.

Mumbai Attackers were being remote controlled by satellite phone

The Mumbai Attackers were being remote controlled by satellite phone according to the transcripts of intercepted calls posted in the article below. These attackers are thought to be a splinter of the Muslim group Lashkar-e-Taiba. It is unclear, but the calls may have been coming from Pakistan. The terrorists were instructed to "Kill the hostages" and "leave the phones on" so the handlers could hear the gunfire. So much for the religion of peace.

Transcript: Mumbai gunmen were commanded by phone
Wednesday, January 7, 2009

NEW DELHI - "We have three foreigners, including women," the gunman said into the phone. The response was brutally simple: "Kill them." Gunshots then rang out inside the Mumbai hotel, followed by cheering that could be heard over the phone.

The ruthless exchange comes from a transcript of phone calls Indian authorities say they intercepted during the November Mumbai attacks. They were part of a dossier of evidence New Delhi handed Pakistan this week that it says definitively proves that the siege was launched from across the border.

Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Tuesday that he did not believe the gunmen were acting alone, and Pakistani state agencies must have had a hand in the attacks.

The dossier made no mention of any Pakistani officials or agencies.

Pakistani authorities are reviewing the evidence, but have dismissed Singh's claims as "a propaganda offensive" designed "to whip up tensions" in the region.

Indian leaders have made clear they do not want a military conflict with Pakistan, and Pakistan's intelligence chief said there will be no war over the Mumbai attacks.

"We may be crazy in Pakistan, but not completely out of our minds," Pakistan's intelligence chief, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Shujaa Pasha, told German news magazine Der Spiegel. "We know full well that terror is our enemy, not India." Link here.

There is also a very good article in the NY Times about the Dossier that India has given Pakistan. Read that article here.

The hostages at Mumbai were tortured

This just shows you what a bunch of sick animals these Islamic terrorists are.

Asked specifically if he was talking of torture marks, he said: "It was apparent that most of the dead were tortured. What shocked me were the telltale signs showing clearly how the hostages were executed in cold blood," one doctor said.

The other doctor, who had also conducted the post-mortem of the victims, said: "Of all the bodies, the Israeli victims bore the maximum torture marks. It was clear that they were killed on the 26th itself. It was obvious that they were tied up and tortured before they were killed. It was so bad that I do not want to go over the details even in my head again," he said.

Corroborating the doctors' claims about torture was the information that the Intelligence Bureau had about the terror plan. "During his interrogation, Ajmal Kamal said they were specifically asked to target the foreigners, especially the Israelis," an IB source said. Link here.

The siege at Mumbai is over

This terrorist attack took sixty hours to end and cost the lives of over 190 innocent civilians.
MUMBAI, India (AP) - Indian commandos killed the last remaining gunmen holed up at a luxury Mumbai hotel Saturday, ending a 60-hour rampage through India's financial capital by suspected Islamic militants that left more than 150 people dead and rocked the nation.

Orange flames and black smoke engulfed the landmark 400-room Taj Mahal hotel after dawn Saturday as Indian forces ended the siege in a hail of gunfire, just hours after elite commandos stormed a Jewish center and found six hostages dead.

More than 150 people were killed and several hundred wounded in the violence that started when more than a dozen assailants attacked 10 sites across Mumbai Wednesday night. Fifteen foreigners were among the dead.

"The Taj operation is over. The last two terrorists holed up there have been killed," Mumbai Police Chief Hasan Ghafoor told The Associated Press. J.K. Dutt, director general of India's elite National Security Guard commando unit, told reporters outside the hotel that his forces would continue to search and clear the hotel. Link here.

I shudder to imagine this happening in the downtown area of one of our largest cities. How would Obama(a man who has never fired a gun) respond? Would he treat it as a criminal act and try to apprehend the killers. Then, their lawyers could get them off on a technicality. Would he treat them as enemy combatants and let them rot in Guantanamo until we could arrange their execution? You know the answer and it should make you angry.

Here are some pictures.
