A House Democrat inspired by the last James Bond movie has offered legislation to produce handguns with “personalization technology.”

The idea is to produce guns that can only be used by the gun’s owners. Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.) cited the latest James Bond movie, “Skyfall,” as inspiration for the bill.

“In the most recent James Bond film, Bond escapes death when his handgun, which is equipped with technology that recognizes him as its owner, becomes inoperable when it gets into the wrong hands,” Tierney’s office said in a statement introducing the bill. “This technology, however, isn’t just for the movies — it’s a reality.”

Under his bill, guns made in the United States would have to be built with this technology two years after the bill becomes law. Older guns being sold by a business or individual would have to be retrofitted with this technology after three years.

Colorado Rep. Diana DeGette, the lead Democratic sponsor of a federal bill to ban high-capacity magazines, is apparently unaware that such magazines can be reloaded and reused, according to a comment she made at a Denver Post-sponsored forum on gun control on Tuesday.

When asked how limiting the number of bullets in magazines would help reduce violence, she replied: “I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now, they’re going to shoot them. So if you ban them in the future, the number of these high-capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time, because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.”
Some audience members laughed, but gun-rights advocates weren’t amused.

“It’s extremely alarming that Rep. DeGette is running federal legislation to ban magazine clips, when she doesn’t even know what a magazine clip is,” Colorado GOP spokesman Owen Loftus told the Denver Post.

Vice President Joe Biden faulted Mitt Romney for believing that “so-called job creators” build the economy, as he suggested that government spending and increased taxes on the wealthy would provide long-term economic strength.

“[Romney believes] somehow, that those so-called job creators will make everything okay for the rest of us,” Biden said at the National Education Association conference. “We believe that the way to build this country is the way we always have, from the middle out  . . . [to] invest in the things that have always made our economy grow: innovation, research, development, infrastructure, and education.”

Alan Mulally, the head of Ford now, has taken them to number five in the country as a profitable corporation. Ford is back as the number five most profitable company in the country right now.

Again, back to you, John, it seems to me that somebody should have paid attention to the fact that Mulally having this kind of gift and ability to do this kind of thing, and he didn’t bet on him. Obama bet on him.

One academic study asked 2,000 Americans to fill out questionnaires about moral questions. In some cases, they were asked to fill them out as they thought a “typical liberal” or a “typical conservative” would respond. 

Moderates and conservatives were adept at guessing how liberals would answer questions. Liberals, especially those who described themselves as “very liberal,” were least able to put themselves in the minds of their adversaries and guess how conservatives would answer.

Clueless VP Joe Biden: ",the Taliban per se is not our enemy"

Weren't the Taliban hiding, protecting and giving comfort to Osama bin Laden when 9/11 went down? Didn't they continue that after we asked them to stop? If that doesn't make someone our enemy, I don't know what does.

An alleged WH insider has been sending email with what appears to be inside information on the Barack Obama administration. This person has accurately predicted Summers, Emanuel and Gibbs would leave the administration long before anyone else. The WH insider claims Obama is clueless about Egypt and the administration is spending a lot of time preparing for a Supreme Court challenge of Obamacare. Also, the "birther" eligibility issue has the White House nervous. They are afraid several state will require Obama to prove his eligibility and natural born status. The New York Times has become a complete liberal rag. In spite of the fact Major Nidal Malik Hasan shouted “Allahu akbar!” before gunning down soldiers at Ft. Hood, they can't fathom his motive. If they would take off their liberal blinders, they could easily discern Hasan is an Islamic Jihadist.

The NYT reported:

No emotion or hint of the defendant’s thoughts flickered across his pale features, as more than two dozen other soldiers and civilians spoke under oath about their struggle to survive in the terrifying minutes after he yelled “Allahu akbar!” — “God is great” in Arabic — and started shooting...

72% Think Congress Is Clueless On Economy

Based on the Stimulus and attempted financial overhaul, they are probably right.

Rasmussen reported:

The latest national telephone survey of Likely Voters finds that just 27% are at least somewhat confident that Congress knows what it’s doing when it comes to addressing current economic problems. An overwhelming majority (72%) are not confident in Congress to address these problems. These figures include six percent (6%) who are Very Confident and 43% who are Not at All Confident.

Oh my! Obamacare does not cover pre-existing conditions for children until 2014!

I guess Democrats should have actually read the bill before they passed it. President Obama will have a hard time removing his foot from his mouth this time. He said as recently as Friday:

"This is a patient's bill of rights on steroids," the president said Friday at George Mason University in Virginia. "Starting this year, thousands of uninsured Americans with pre-existing conditions will be able to purchase health insurance, some for the very first time. Starting this year, insurance companies will be banned forever from denying coverage to children with pre-existing conditions."

Now that Obamacare has passed, AP reported:

Under the new law, insurance companies still would be able to refuse new coverage to children because of a pre-existing medical problem, said Karen Lightfoot, spokeswoman for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the main congressional panels that wrote the bill Obama signed into law Tuesday...

Full protection for children would not come until 2014...

Obama remains Clueless

Yesterday, in a meeting with Senate Democrats, President Obama said,

"If anybody's searching for a lesson from Massachusetts, I promise you, the answer is not to do nothing," Obama told the Senate Democrats. "We've got to finish the job on health care. We've got to finish the job on financial regulatory reform. We've got to finish the job, even though it's hard."

Obama thinks democrats should keep pushing his leftist agenda in spite of an extreme voter backlash. Many democrats are beginning to understand voters aren't buying Obama's snake oil and are seeking to distance themselves.

As Congress begins picking through President Obama's vast election year budget, many Democratic incumbents and candidates seem to be finding something they love — to campaign against...

No Wonder Team Obama is Clueless. They Never Worked for the Private Sector.

Less than 10% of Team Obama has experience in the private sector. No wonder they are focused on socializing medical care, raising taxes and implementing a governmental solution for all problems. This is by far the lowest percentage of Cabinet appointments with private enterprise experience of any President in at least the last century.
